It's a bug which is not not just appearing with W24 but just today it happend with W24 again. When I start LFS the whole screen is covered like normaly it is but the mouse or anything else isn't acting in LFS but it does in Windows in the background. The bad thing is that I don't see what I do there in the back and it is very hard to get the LFS screen away. Ctlr+Alt+Del does open the TaskManager, but in the back. Most of the times I come back into LFS with Alt+Tab but this takes sometimes quite a while when I have a lot of stuff open.
It's not reproducible. It happens from time to time.
SimFIA DTM EU Season 3 Review

Two years of Mercury dominance over the DTM-EU ended this season as M.Kowalski (BlackMan) from Cyber-Racing took control with his first DTM championship. Both R.Mooney (Bawbag) from Mercury and M.Kowalski drove the XRR in the first season that featured the XRR with the traditional DTM racecar, the FXR. The championship fight was tight throughout the season with Mooney winning 4 races and Kowalski winning 3 out of the 10. In his post-season interview, M.Kowalski stated “SimFIA DTM was my first completed individual international league ever. I checked XRR because i had experience from another leagues with it. First races were easy to win, I always used R2 without changing them. I had nice fights with R.Mooney and of course some mistakes in the races. The league overall has a very good organization, everything is on time and of course I want to thank for great fun!”

C.Roescher (Kaspur) from 1St-Racing delivered a very constant performance with the FXR, coming in second position ahead of R.Mooney in third. Roescher's comments on the season: “It has been a nice season and I'm very pleased with my overall 2nd position in my third season in the DTM championship. I've had some great battles on the track and the additional XRR class this season made it quite interesting (and tough). Being on the podium as the only FXR driver with (deserved winner) Kowalski and Mooney made this a nice season.”

M.Kierse (TysCaargh) finished in fourth place with very consistent performances, closely followed (2 points) by R.Blauwhoff (ChristijaNL), who joined the season at race 4.

The expected start of season 4 will be around August and will feature some new rules to make the league more interesting and realistic.

The SimFIA DTM Officials congratulates M.Kowalski on his championship, and a big Thank-You to all the participants.

yeah right, thats then realistic

Does this look realistic? No......but you can do it.......

Anyway, I give up on that and I think an option for a free movement of the map would be much better.
Maybe a mod can change the title

Thats a pretty low mirror. Havn't seen a car with a mirror that low.

This is the suggestion thread and I have a suggestion to make things better and more fun to race. So an answer "thats just life" is pretty stupid...

map on left side would cover the messages
in the FXR you can move the mirror more to the left but not like in the FZR cause there it would cover a bit of your view

so actually things I really would love to have:

1. possibility to move mirror more up
2. moving the map free over the whole screen

The problem is this one like in the picture. And there is even space to the roof for the mirror.
Maybe it would be even better an option to move the map over the whole screen
The map could be in the area of the glove compartment.

right now you can move the mirror almost all over the sceen but not higher. First of all is there still space to the rof in some cars, so it would not be unrealistic. Then you have the virtual mirror. Actually you dont need the virtual mirror if you could move the rel one all over the screen.
And the main thing bothering me is that when I have the map on the ride side, it does cover my mirror and I cant see what's going on behind me.

Quote from Hammerdown :I didn't make it clear. You would also have to be able to adjust them so you could see people alongside, making up for the lack of peripheral vision afforded by a narrow FOV.

I agree. A adjustment like in a real car (mirror angle) so that you can turn them more to the outside so that you will see other stuff as in the middle mirror

Get first S2 and drive with a pad or mouse. I started like this and it's quit OK and you can enjoy already the LFS scene.
To drive with anything else as a wheel doen't mean you are gone be slow. Just yesterday I raced against a guy with a mous and he was kicking my damn ass and when you look at some racers on the DC server, they are fast and drive with mouse or keyboard.

Get S2
Windscreen mirror more flexible/Free moving map

Quote :I didn't find anything about it yet.

The windscreen mirror should be more flexible. The main thing is that it is not possible to move the mirror up the te top of the screen. So instead of switching on the virtual mirror and still having the real mirror but in black on the screen, why not making it possible to move the "mirror offset vertical" into "minus" so that we can place the real mirror where the virtual is placed or somewehere else.

Change of the topic to a free option to move the map all over the screen!

BUG: I don't know if it was said already but the cars in the map are very bad to see when the map is at the right side cause of the blue sky and the yellow and green markers.

The option to move the mirror is in Y at 0 and that means the mirror is not at the top of the screen. I don't like to use virtuall cause then I have two there. Just a little change that I can move the mirror up to the top would be great.

Quote from BlackSheep720 :s2 racers = racers
demo racers = drifters

ironic, eh? i'd say that at least 80-85% of demo racers dedicate their time to drifting. i personally hate drifting, a childish and barbaric pastime

:bananalla:bananalla:bananalla Oh no! Here come the flaming banana warriors, astride their green blob animals!

i think you tried to drift but you didn't get it handled......

i don't drift but my opinion is, to really drift good is hard work and maybe even harder as racing. i would call it kinda art
those who can really good drift have my full respect

200-220 € is a totally reasonable price for that kinda quality you get for. The racing feeling is way better as with the Momo for example.
I'm so happy I got it

Quote from shi shi bog :I have heard nothing but great respones about this wheel. I just wanna make sure i get my moneys worth.

How does it feel compared towards a real car(i know it won't be exactly the same)? Can you change the feel Heavy/Light steering. What's the problem with the shifter?

Sorry if i'm being annoying........but 57 pages! I'm decieding wether i should buy the wheel or save up for an LCD TV 32"-40".

Thanks

There is nothing like this out there. Exact steering with no play. Feels just great. And the H-Shifting with the clutch is just awesome

Quote from sidi :If your not that comfortable in taking it apart it's maybe best not to.

The spring i used was length=18.40mm,wire diameter=0.93mm,outside diameter=10.50mm

I have never experienced the sensitive sequential problem as i have mine in a more natural position,i was thinking it maybe be a problem for ppl who have to stretch.

As you can see my woodworking skills are -0 but you get the idea

lol, looks great

I have to do something with it cause sometimes when I shift down and I let the shifter go it does shift up again while swinging back to neutral.

But you are sure that it will fix the problem?

Quote from axus :Nice patch, thanks.

I have to agree with this...
I was just on a server, with 22 cars or so. With 5 on screen, my PC really struggled. I got in the order of 25-35 FPS. This is a 3.0GHz P4 64bit, 512MB RAM, 6600GT 128MB graphics card. Without AA and AF, at my LCD's native res (1280x1024), with LODs set to about mid way between the minimum and the maximum, compressed skins and even half size textures. I'm starting to think there's something wrong, but I've got the latest drivers, my graphics card can't be underpowered (500W PSU) and nothing apart from MSN was running in the background.

I think your problem is somewhere else. I have just a Notebook with a 64MB Ram graphic card and the CPU is a 1.6 MHz. It's true that during the start the FPS goes down to 20-30 but this was the same with 20 cars. Then I have no problems during the start with those 20-30 FPS. During the race it goes up to 60-80 FPS.

Great patch and awesome for the leagues with long tracks

Since I read and write a lot in english, my german is now really crapy and I forget to place capitals. Others think now I'm stupid

To the many commas. When I read English books or articles I see many commas there and I would say that there as many as in German. It's more a thing how people use them in daily live and how it should be, concerning the English grammar.
