Dry sump isnt hard to do. Most italian bikes have dry sumps these days. clutch would be easy, and on a track, its all about high revs, keeping the engine in its prime power area, so torque would not be a great factor here.
eg, the 2006 r6. has next to no torque, but a cracking top end. makes it almost sueless on the road, but very good on track.
you are correct there. but with the general and average rider/driver, the biker will be more aggresive then a car driver, which is why this myth has come about.
4 times the contact point, more braking power, and abs all help the car.
they also corner quicker, but again, due to the nature of the average biker, we tend to go round corner faster.
I'm not gonna get into a argument about stereotyping, but you shouldnt put all bikers into one little group. I know people who drive alot worse, but I also know people who ride completly within the limits, and ride because they love the whole 'wind in the hair' thing. personally, I'm somewhere in the middle.
If I'm doing something stupid, and I get hit, then fair enough. It's when I'm riding along, and some bint pulls out in her volvo/chelsea tractor/family carrier with one person in it that I go mad.
'Sorry mate, I didnt see you' is the worst and crappest excuse ever.
OPEN YOUR ****ING EYES!!!!! take that extra 3 seconds to look for a single headlight, or a reflective vest/belt thing, or maybe a brightly coloured power ranger suit. it's not that hard. [/rant]
Oh, and get a subaru legacy. fits all needs.
I tend not to respect anyone unless they show me respect. but personally, I have respect for the guy who, even though he may be like me, middle to back of the pack, doent give up. keeps fighting hard for that 10th or 11th place, and says well done to everyone afterwards.
but then we might as well just get a higher powered car. and I dont want a high powered car. its not our fault that we are so slim and take advantage of the lack fo width in cases like that.
Fan of the SRAD, I am. Once I'm in the army, I'm planning on a gixxer 750, either k2 or k4. then maybe another nc30, possibly just a track bike though.
The day they restrict new bikes or fit gps trackers on them so they can track your speed, is the day I pack my balls and leave. no ****ing chance I will stand for that shit. Germany, France, the states, I dont care, but i will move. Ignore the fact that I'm planing on moving in 5 or so years anyway. TBH, the UK is becoming a bad place to be a biker. There is still some good in it, but noise restrictions, speed cameras and anti bike campaigns. Me no like.
And on the car test bit. I agree with you dan. I have thought for a very long time that car drivers should be made to do a cbt or have a part fo their test dedicated to bikes, and vice versa for bikes to cars (when we appear suddenly next to you on the motorway, it can be scary, or so Ive been told). It would cut on accidents, not by a whole hell of alot, but I still think it would.
Right, I have a folder that I need to put up so that my Nan can download it. It's about 250mb, and all I can find is sites that host pictures, documents, everything except full folders(will only let me open the folder, not choose it as the object to be hosted.) so how do I get round this?
I know that alot of you will see thsi thread title, open it, read what I've written, and promptly say 'So what?'
But screw you.
I just got comfirmation that I am gonna get my first Media pass for a motorsport event. Easter sunday/monday at Snetterton for some bike races, with Fresh Orange. Considering I've been trying motorsport photography for one month, only been to one track on 2 seperate occasions, I think that this is brilliant.
Yay for me on the better side of the fence
I don't get why you find it disgusting that it's been posted here. I know someone who lives out there, rides it everyday, and holds the unofficial record for BTG, and he found it hilarious. It's funny, some jackass went out, with little to no driving talent when it comes to fast road driving, and spun it into the mud. Then, to make things worse, he did it while he was filming. And even worse, it has ended up on U-Tube. If that isn't a prime example of what the internet is for (taking the piss out of people) then I'm not sure I should be here.
What bike does your dad have ATM? assuming he has one.
The k7 is just like the K6, but with a few small differences. firstly, and most noticibly, its heavier. but not by much, and you can reduce this by ditching the twin zausts that come with it standard for a single 4-1 system. the brakes are phenominal, 4 pot radials stop on a dime. cant tell you about brake fade, as I only had the bike for one day(trade with a mate).
it loves to wheelie, and does it so effortlessly, but you would expect that. good front end, and lots of confidence too. I actually prefer the 750 to this though, but thats personal preferance.
The 'Ring would not be a good thing I think. The large part of what makes it so special in real life, is the other drivers. Anyone can go on it, and you will have a much larger number of people then you can currently fit in a LFS server.
