@Tomba:
The one at the entrance of the caroussel?
Not the best behaviour from the slower driver, but my stance is that when you're behind and collide with someone in front then you're to blame.
I'm a BMW fan myself, but I still don't blame the slower driver.

Can't wait.
This year it looks like it's going to be a stunning race.

LFS has many shortcomings, but none of them get as much attention as the lack of updates.

The red-barrier-bug, the crash-physics, the locked diffs, the behaviour of tyre stacks and all those other problems really aren't showstoppers. But the lack of updates is.
Are the problems of the new tyre model, in comparison to LFS's current problems, really that large that it's worth killing the community over them? I wouldn't know, but at least Scawen is convinced they are.

5km Mulsane straight is quite hardcore...

That's from the VHS/DVD "956 Incar" by Duke Studio, if you're interested. Awesome DVD.

Quote from dadge :there's that smell again...

Are you suggesting I'm being dishonest? If so, please do so in clear words. If not, don't imply it.

About your question:
Yes, I wouldn't buy S3 because I don't think that there's going to be a whole lot more content-updates after the next release. And of course I would be able to use the physics updates with my S2 license.

I feel I'm dragging this offtopic, so I'll stop it at this point.

Quote from dadge :link or it's bullshit. sorry dude, i don't make the rules.

Are you expecting a link to "a lot of people saying they wouldn't upgrade to S3 anymore"?

But if it matters, I'd say that I propably wouldn't upgrade to S3 if it was released tomorrow. There are so many other projects that actually have a future to spend money on that S3 seems like a bad investment.

I don't often laugh out loud at stuff on the internet, but that really cracked me up.

I find it amazing how they took 6 years to deliver a half-finished product and then hastily try to fix it up within a matter of weeks. What, please tell me what, have they been doing?!?

At least for me however these patches are reinforcing the completely wrong behaviour. I could buy the game right now, grind the hell out of ugly cars and illogical design decisions or hold out on the game, wait for the most anoying things to be patched out and then buy the game at a reduced price.

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :dang..i can believe hes being a millionaire with that game!

Four days after I bought Minecraft I noticed that while I was grinding for virtual goods in my free time he was earning hard cash in his free time.
After that I never played Minecraft again. I can't even enjoy playing the PS3 anymore because I feel like I'm wasting an opportunity to improve my life. Minecraft completely ruined procrastinating for me.
Curse you Notch!

I loved Uncharted 1 until the moment where the pacing changed dramatically. From there on the game sucked and I stopped playing.
I heard Uncharted 2 has a similar element in it and never bothered with the series again.

205 GTI 1.6, standard engine and quite a lot of other parts standard too (So it could enter the 205 cup)]

I don't know how much that car weights, but I'm sure it can't be a lot. I got motion sickness just watching the video due to how quickly the car pitches and yaws.

... Also, I found it interesting that you can hear the roof (propably?) deform at the impact around 4:04.

If you're getting the "bad video card driver" issue then that may be because Minecraft tries to aquire too much memory.
You can launch it via the command "java -Xmx800M -jar minecraft.jar" to work around that.

Quote from tristancliffe :And Boris, yes I do think it's fair to give a Playstation game a review using an official Playstation controller in the natural habitat of a Playstation (TV/Sofa). Why would it not be fair? Are we only allowed to review flying games if we invest in the cockpit of an F16? Are we only allowed to review Metal Gear Solid if we play wearing a Camo-Suit using a real gun? Are we only allowed to review Red Dead Redemption if I play whilst on a horse?

To be fair, you propably wouldn't suggest a final review of LFS to be made based on keyboard + mouse.

I think I will rent a copy of GT5, play it for a weekend with a wheel in place and then make my own opinion. However, every video of it I saw post-release has so far looked horrible. That includes the ones from this thread (...the Castrol Supra looks ... underwhelming).

What I meant is the setting in dxdiag-dialogue under the Sound-tab. There you'll get a slider to disable the sound hardware acceleration.

Quote from MAGGOT :...

Just for the hell-of-it, have you tried disabling the DirectX sound hardware acceleration?

I don't think I remember anyone toying around with that setting and I do remember that there are a number of games where disabling the hardware acceleration fixed crashes.
It's unlikely to help, but I guess it's worth a try.

Quote from danowat :Thats the thing though, they should have really been left out, but the only reason they've left them in is for the "1000 cars!" marketing ploy.

On the other hand, had they been left out everyone would be moaning about the lack of cars right now.

I guess I'm fine with the standard cars. More variety is good and I'm willing to make sacrifices if it means I can have a grid of different cars that all do competitive laptimes.

That may be the case in the example above. But when the dependency is based on e.g. the return type of a member-function the logical error isn't as obvious. As an example, class A can't have a member function "B createB()" if B has a member function "A createA()". The complete definition of B has to be ready when the definition of A is being processed, but to complete B class A has to be completed first.

#include <classB.h>
class A
{
B createB();
};

#include <classA.h>
class B
{
A createA();
};
