Great, will download ..

Question, how do you turn it on or off?

Quote from EQ Worry :Hm, no, currently neither of these options is available. I can imagine adding new config item into SRV file doing this both (or maybe better yet a link to some external text file containing the required data). Just like there are prohibited names there could be allowed names (optionally with car types) and a switch to turn on/off this filter.

In any case that would require new options and checks (neither of them complicated, to be sure), but also some work on the admin part, updating configs with usernames optionaly with car types

Great! I hope you can implement it, as you said it does not seem too complicated.
Question on user restrictions.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to have a list of authorized users based on LFS username? (only players registered for a champ can login)

2. Is there a way to restrict the user/car combo. For example Joe can only login using FXR.

Thanks for the help.

Thank you for this, I am downloading it to check it out.

Ok, Will do however I have to point out that the help.txt on the .zip file of the RaceDirector refers to the F1 timing system. That's why I thought it was also part of the package. My fault.

Edit to my edit: I just saw your reply about the F1 system. (not published)

I just installed this app on our server to test. I like it a lot. BUT. I can't get the F1 timing to work. Everything else is working ... the yellow flag warnings, the flags, pitlane status etc. Only the timing system does not seem to be working. nothing comes up when I type $best, and the split times are not displaying.

What am I doing wrong?

Tried, did not work ... thanks anyway.

Another comment, when I type in the password field I can see the actual letters, is that supposed to be like that? I was expectiung the usual black dots used on password fields.

I finally made it work. I notice it does not work with AI's. We are planning touse AIs as SC for a rolling start in a champ and this would work great for reordering the field before the start. Is it possible to change the app. to work with AI's as well?

great, thanks!

but then ... you need admin rights on the server right?

Excellent little app!!

Works great for spectating and watching replays.

One question though ... I can't seem to make the middle-of-the-screen displays to work. nothing happens when I enter $page1 ... thoughts?

Quote from Zipppy :Does typing /ai help?

I tried that using a script on the server bu the server does not understand the /ai command.

I think the only solution is to run the SC with an AI local to the admin.

how can I add an AI on a host running invisible mode i mean an AI on the host side not the local side. I want to do this to add a safety car.

Quote from EQ Worry :Well, I tried the !cfg SpecFromPits=true or false and both worked nicely for me. My guess would be you did not enter the item correctly, maybe you used something like !cfg SpecFromPit=true (missing s). But then Airio reports "Unrecognized configuration item..." and does nothing. So make sure you see in yellow "Configuration item accepted..." after any !cfg change.

I also tried the scripts the way you mention. Surprisingly, the script (.lfs file) with /say works when stored n server and run from there. If stored/run locally, it sends to ouput only the 1st !cfg command, ignores the rest. Well, I think this is not Airio trouble, it is somewhere in LFS scripts handling, I can't do anything about it. Anyway, I suggest using the SET files. Airio will go through those line by line, sending to output (as host) only the lines starting with / or !.

EQ, thank you for looking into these. I agree setup files are the best way to handle this. I will try the SpecFromPits change again and let you know what I find.

Maybe, maybe there'll be Join button instead of OK button, but I'm not sure about this.

That is exactly the case, Join instead of OK.

Quote from EQ Worry :
PS: How did you run the script earlier, if you were not using SET files?

I made an LFS script (.lfs file locally in the data/scripts directory) and ran it entering /run scriptname in the chat window.

Excellent!! I'll give the set files a try.

On the question about when the variables tale effect with !cfg commands, I have my doubts, maybe I am doing something wrong. I was running a race and wanted to change the SpecFromPits variable to false so I entered !cfg SpecFromPits=false, but the server kept spectating people telepitting while qualifying.

Thouhgts?

Well I tried and it does not seem to work. I created the script below and ran it from lfs ... all the lfs commands were succesful, the Airio commands were not. any thoughts? what am I missing?

/end
/cars XFR+UFR
/hours 1
/qual 20
/mustpit yes
/midrace no
/canreset no
/say !cfg RotateTracks=
/say !cfg CancelEndRace=true
/say !cfg CancelRestart=true
/say !cfg CancelQualify=true
/say !cfg PointSystem=10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
/say !cfg PointsBest=1
/say !cfg LapsPoints=80
/say !cfg SpecFromPits=true
/say !cfg IdlingTime=10

When do the variables changed with the !cfg command take effect? immediately? after /end? in the next race? I need to know this to create a script to change some vars before each champ race, for example the points, during practice there are no points available but during the valid race there so I wonder if I can set the points table var via the !cfg command just before the race. There are a few other vars to change before the race and then once it is over in order to change them back to the original values is a !rld enough?

Quote from Starbert :Did you do 3 clean races at the open league?? Then you may apply for the closed leagues.

I started in three but only finished one. So I guess I'll have to wait two more. Thanks for the answer.

AAGGGHHH I just missed the open league race on my favorite track! My computer decided to die when I turned it on to log into the race. This sucks!! I could not download LFS on a spare computer fast enough to race. Oh man this really sucks!!!

Question: why are championship points tied to the track? A championship is usually a bunch of races opf different tracks ... I know we can use playing points to mimic a championship points but I was wondering.

Quote from Mazdaratie :Acceptance for the closed league will mean you may drive in the Formula League too

That would be great although I am not sure I can make the commitment for the Formula league since it is right after the Open League and I don't think I can devote that much time for races and most importantly for training. Maybe I'll rujn some races as I want to improve in the open wheelers too.

What's next?
