You have to understand that Eric modelled the VW with permission from VW, and with their approval for the use of the likeliness and badging of the car. Just because it was available in LFS Viewer does NOT mean that you are free to use it. The cars available in editor are the ones the developers have given permission to modify, and the VWS is not one of them. Firstly you would need permission from Eric to edit it, as he modelled the mesh, and I doubt you'll receive it. Just because it's in viewer does not make it free to use.
I don't really know what causes this, but i've seen it happen before. Seems like textures fail to load. Happens randomly and goes away randomly. Not a huge issue but definitely takes you out a bit
His gauges are merged with the rest of the interior, which is a different subobject arleady. He cannot merge the interior onto the main mesh because that would exceed the triangle limit, as well as make it a pain in the ass. Can't do it by layers either because when you merge into main the layers reset to the ones that you're merging into. So until the ability to break off from one subobject to the other is possible, guess hes stuck with this
Would it be possible to add a "reload" button for the skin page? its quite annoying having to make 2-3 different files because the skin wont reload after making changes.
There's an inherent issue with the way ratings work.
First of all the fact that it's anonymous leaves room for people with differing reasons to either rate mods that are sub-par either too highly, or mods which are actually very qualitative very low. Discussing with fellow players we've come to the conclusion that the best solution would be a histogram-type rating system, in which you can see the numbers of each individual rating.
I've attached a picture of what I mean. I think this will help differentiate between actual good mods that have been review bombed and mods that are bloated in rating.
quick tip, i dont know if this is caused by the skin template, or groupings, but if it is groupings, i'd suggest ajusting these kinds of areas, alas, if you need help, feel free to join the discord
There needs to be something done about how the "Grip Masters Chamionship" cars show up on the mod list. Not only do they create confusion, but they dont add anything of value outside of the championship itself. This should be adressed either by making a separate category all-together, or by making them private. I also assume this isnt fun for the reviewers either, having to review a car that has arleady been accepted.
I'm glad you enjoy it , car feels quite fun on r13 rims, but I think that this mild-tune setup allows for a bit more versatility. If I launch a race-spec hakosuka one day i'll make this 100% stock
Mod based on the KPGC10 Nissan Skyline GTR
Exterior mesh produced by: https://sketchfab.com/thecarenthusiast
Reason for the lack or LHD is first of all complications with texture-work, but also the fact that KPGC10's were never manufactured as LHD vehicles.
TBM:
Better textures for seat and overall touchups on textures
Fill up empty spaces
i would suggest experimenting some more before actually publishing a car.
engine has no torque and inertia is inexistent. theres a piece of number plate on the xrt dash, the hakosuka, of which this car is based of, didn't come stock neither with a 1.6 NOR a turbo engine. also this car is from 1969-1972, not the 90s.
dont know if it's been suggested, but the ability to break off subobjects from within a subobject. having to merge a subobject only to break off one small part of it then break the rest off again is a chore
Thank you, really appreciate it . I would love to do a kombi version, but sadly the number of configurations dont really allow me to. I'll try to find a compromise, I'm also working on a hot version of the trabi, so stay tuned for that
So with the latest update, i managed to get skins working! so if anyone wants to get creative, i've attached the wireframe template, along with the black outline and shaded skins in this post.
