Yay its working

may I suggest that the RB4 be midfield class & the XRT be the backmarker class for South City Sprint?, as this is what the current WR suggests.
There was a discussion about that in the STCC-forum.
To my understanding the three classes will be decided upon after round 1 (Heat A, B & C) has finished. After that the possible pace of the cars should be visible from the times.

But I want to remember the clerk of the course that after Round 1 only 8 people will be on the server and the clerk has to call all drivers for participation in Round 2 individually (via LFS spectator), as the status of backmarker and midfield class is not so clear (and the drivers are new to the format anyway).
I imagin something along these lines: 7 GMT, clerk calls for Heat A and the cars, Round 1 Heat A starts, after that the clerk calls for Heat B and names the car, Round 1 Heat B starts, the clerk calls for Heat C and announces the car, Round 1 Heat C starts. The clerk calls for Round 2 Heat A and calls the names of the drivers who are to join, Round 2 Heat A starts, after that the clerk calls for Round 2 Heat B and announces the drivers for this session, Round 2 Heat B starts, the clerk calls for drivers of the feature race and the feature race starts.

This is rather complicated, but otherwise it will end in mayhem because some drivers will definitely be misinformed about the status of their car and which heat to join at what time.

And to the drivers: Remember that you are supposed to listen to the ingame-chat via LFS spectator

Do I not have your skin already anttt69? What is your league name please? (PM if you preffer).

I'm having great difficulty getting the forums to work, they rely on the bansheestudios.com domain name and I cannot transfer it at the moment because the people it is registered with want proof of ownership (a receipt) but the domain is half a decade old and the receipts are on a hard disk reformatted several times on a machine long since broken to parts...
For STCC-organization you can always fall back to this thread if the domain transfer doesn't work...
Keep it up!

All cars/drivers will be called to server via ingame server chat which you can view with LFS Spectator, I would recommend trying LFS Spectator before the event (it only works if you connect to a server with people on, if the server is empty it spasms out).

Round 1 will be called to server according to car type:
Heat 1-FXO
Heat 2-XRT
Heat 3-RB4

Round 2 will be called to server by driver surname, ie:
hepp, galaske
pickard, luchau
etc.

Round 3/Feature race will be called in the first instance by name
Feature Race
In the hope that those drivers who qualify log in, and then missing drivers will be called. Silence is then needed to call you to join in grid order in accordance with the regs that I hope you've all read and understood

Yes it is more complicated than other leagues and I expect some confusion at the first race as it is new to everybody, myself included, by the second round though hopefully most of the drivers will know the system so those who miss the first round will be able to pick it up by following along.
SERVER PASSWORD
Because of the issues surrounding the STCC forums at the moment I think it is best that the race takes place with the NORMAL password, you should all know what that is by now but if not send me a PM. We will not use the password posted on the STCC forums because i'm sure many of you have not seen that posting yet.
thanks beano , just downloading LFS spectator

I dont think you have my skin yet Becky, my racer name will be: A.Collett

I will send you my skin later.

I have a few queries about the race format & points scoring.

1. The bonus points for mid & back are they awarded on top of feature race points?

2. How are the final positions calculated as there are two feature races A & B? or is there a final race to decide this?
1. The bonus points for mid & back are they awarded on top of feature race points?
Yes, they are a points bonus on top of the normal allocation. On a full server they should work out over the course of a season. They are very specifically and carefully structured, but it's untested...

2. How are the final positions calculated as there are two feature races A & B? or is there a final race to decide this?
There is only 1 feature race in round 3. The round 2 races are still qualifying heats and determine the qualifying positions and bonus qualifying points. I decided to do two rounds of qualifying for several reasons I could go into here, not the least of which was to ensure that all drivers got a reasonable amount of track time even if they didn't qualify for the feature race itself.
Ah I see now, you're the driver who was top of the waiting list and is the last minute replacement for K.Luchau changing his mind and dropping from MG Power team. Welcome to the series, and indeed, I dont have your skin yet but obviously my email is still down - i'll PM you my work email address to send it there.
Thanks &
dont worry here it is:

cant wait, just hope my time of 56.07 is quick enough

hehehehe

ok, im getting cocky!
That'll come back and bite you soon
My times are catastrophic, even for an RB4. There are a couple of corners on this course that I just can't seem to keep any speed through. I'll be practicing a lot today to see what I can do.

i know, i have this image of my roof scraping the ground at T1 and coming last, but if i can stay off the walls (gulp) then i should fininsh in a good position (i would like to say 1st, but even if i was the WR holder i am nowhere near aggressive enough, and do let drivers past to much!)
OK, time for a quick reminder of the key rules and tips to jog everyones memory, as it's probably been a while since you all read the regs:
  • All stewards enquirees will be held after the event, incidents occuring during the race will only be dealt with there and then in cases of a disruptive player (which i'm sure wont happen).
  • You should report any transgressions which occur, although the stewards will do there best to find them of their own accord anyway.
  • No reseting your car
  • No shift-s
  • You should make a hotkey to ask for steward attention if you feel your situation warrants a safety car. No other chat is permitted during races
  • In the event of a retirement you should move your car to a safe location (if possible) and wait 1-2 laps before logging off, the safety car will likely deploy in the meentime
  • At the end of the race you should complete a slow down lap, if you win a light & horn show would be good
  • You must not overtake any other cars (other than the safety car) whilst under yellow flag, which includes when the safety car is on circuit. The leader may not overtake the safety car
  • The safety car may vary it's speed depending upon the situation, you should leave a gap to the car infront at least until the "Safety Car in this lap" message appears
i think we need a practice warm up to get some promo stuff and to practice it!
How about open practice this afternoon?
Open practice will also help to reduce the carnage at T1.

i meant to practice the regs, but i might be on
Is it possible to post a link to download the skinpackwhile the forum is down?

Thanks,
Rob
I can't remember the link to it and can't pull up the filenames atm without access to the Banshee control panel, as of right now the people the Banshee name is registered with are being both extremely slow and belligerent, i'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to deal with them, and when I say them, i'm getting the dinstinct impression it's a kid operating from a bedroom :/.
Does anyone else have the skinpack they could post? I downloaded it at work but forgot to put it on my USB drive.

Thanks,
Rob

PS Good luck with the server problems Becky
