Just saw this article saying that Yamaha wants Rossi and Lorenzo to do the 8H of Suzuka this year, looks like it is going to be an interesting one! http://www.sportrider.com/yamaha-wants-rossi-and-or-lorenzo-to-race-suzuka-8-hours?src=SOC&dom=fb

Honda said that if Stoner would ever come back to motogp, it would be with preparation...now he didn't train on the new bike and never raced on the two next tracks. They didn't want to deceive Stoner's fans they said.

Without changing complicated stuff, a few bumps (a la south city) here and there to make braking more challenging wouldn't hurt in my opinion, just enough to remove the smooth carpet feeling. Also had the feeling that the asphalt texture look a bit cartoony and too regular, but that's a matter of test. For the rest I like it!Thumbs up

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Excellent WSBK debut for van der Mark at Philip Island. P5 in race 1, led some laps in race 2 before crashing from P4.

Yeah first race was quite good, in the second he wanted to see if he could fight with the big guns...knowing his tires wouldn't hold, hence why he crashed. Wink

Sadly as expected I think it will be hard for the Pata Honda guys to fight for the champ with that old bike, but who knows, we may be up for some surprises on some tracks...fingers crossed!

They also announced last week that he'll be racing the 8H of Suzuka with Casey Stoner this year: http://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/2015/Van+der+Mark+joins+Stoner+for+Suzuka+8+Hours

When I saw you posting the news I started on the whiskey right away, now I am probably too drunk to find where I left LFS in my pc. Ya right

Sad news for LFS, but perfectly understandable...

THX for all the great races you've provided us over so many years!

Good luck!

I do agree, but when you consider how things are going at the moment in lfs it is already hard to keep league admins motivated to organise races, so I doubt this is the right period to request even more from them (most of us don't realise how much work it is and the little support they get to do it). Only a very few drivers are racing the leagues seriously/consistently and almost no one spend time to read the rules this days (which takes them so much time to write), those few drivers are the only reason why the admins still find some energy to organise and to maintain some kind of quality, but it is very frustrating for them when many drivers quit races and the numbers of participants drops half way through the seasons (the amount of sign ups don't even mean anything). And even if Victor give us a great league section in the forum, I don't see in what way it would improve teams and drivers motivations. The only reward league admins are looking for is to see motivated and dedicated participants, and only the addition of content will change this situation...Sadly there is not much they can do about that!

That said I can't talk for every league organisations, but I'll have a chat with GenR's members to see if someone want to dedicate some time for posting news to announce races and results (Dom has already too much to do), which are two things we don't do enough in my opinion.

Nice tweak Dave, THX!

I'm still the phase of getting use to the new forum, so I will not comment at this point in time, but there is something I miss and that is the ''new posts'' button being accessible from everywhere. I mean that when I read a post I always have to click the forum button to find the new posts button..maybe there is an easy fix for this?

Michael won the World Supersport Chamionship yesterday and to make it a perfect day his father Henk (GenR's sponsor) finished on the podium of the Europen Classic championship (with the same bike they won le Mans in 1984) at the 4h of Nurburgring.

Quote from TFalke55 :Looks like GenR now has a world champion team member Gratulations to Michael!

Hehe looks like I had too much tears in my eyes to be able to post first...I am so proud of him, this was a really hard race where he could have avoided confrontation, but his will to be first was just too strong again, just awesome!!

I'll post a link for the race as soon as it is updated...itis a must watch!

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Speaking of the devil(s), Aegarter and van der Mark are both candidates for a MotoGP ride at Forward according to Speedweek.

http://www.speedweek.com/motog ... r-Mark-Domi-Aegerter.html

As usual in this period, there are a lot of speculations and rumours...I am also hearing that Honda could step in to SBK (probably with Ten Kate as background partner??)...that would include an Honda contract in SBK for Michael...I also know that a moto2 team has contacted him (can't say which one )...but like I said, many speculations and rumours, by the end of September we should know for sure!

Quote from troy :The other young guy on the lower step of the podium beside him is Dominique Aegerter, riding quite successfully in Moto2 at the moment. He mentioned on Swiss TV that the bikes are quite different but it's not that big of a problem as long as he got one or two days in between switching from one to the other.

Good to see the young guns riding just as well as the "old"school riders in the endurance events.

Yeah Aegerter is probably another champion in the making, great fighting spirit in moto2 and a really good first showing in the 8h of Suzuka SBK.

Michael feels like 1000cc are easier to ride than the 600cc, he's also quite tall, so yeah I think he's ready for SBK...for the motogp I don't know, those bikes are very stiff so the learning curve is quite steep, maybe some moto2 could be advisable before it....that is if he decides to go there...but he's a big fan of the sbk tour, so he may stay there for another year or two (though to be ideal Honda should bring a new bike to the market, the one Ten Kate is running is a bit old tech now)...contract time is around the corner, so we'll know soon!

Since some were interested, Michael also won Portimao last Sunday, he's now leading the champ with 53 points with 4 races to go (though one of those 4 isn't confirmed yet)....looks like we're on the way to get our first licensed lfs player who become world champion in real life racing...Lets see if he can keep his head together till the end!... They now have a long break till September, Michael was in Suzuka's first official training last Monday and Tuesday where he finished second on the board, the 8H race is on the 26th of Jully.

Small article about Portimao and some highlights (race can be watched from the link I posted above): http://www.worldsbk.com/en/new ... SS+fight+to+claim+victory

Quote from TexasLTU :Absolutely right He is.

Actually I am not his manager anymore, I gave the hand to a real manager with the necessary contacts for that job... His father (le Mans winner in 1984) is one of my best friend and he asked me to give them a hand when things went wrong a couples of years ago after his motogp 125cc experience... Michael was a bit pissed at first when I forced him to go to the 600cc in the European superstock championship, which he won in his second year, it now looks like his going to do the same in the world supersport champ this year. He's a great guy, bit shy, but with a great racing mentality. Superbike will probably be an option for next year, but he also won the 8h of Suzuka for Honda on a 1000cc superbike last year and they will ask him to defend his title this year, they seems to like him a lot...So I could see Honda opening some doors to moto2 too...I am sure we'll ear a lot about him in coming years!

Here is a link to watch all the SBK and WSS races (Michael won Malesia, Donington and Assen): http://www.motolink.info/sbk2014.htm

For me LFS will remain the best game of the last decennia, the first sim which gave me the illusion of driving, the first time I felt ''real life'' nervous before a sim league race and the first time in almost 20 years of online gaming that I have a very positive community experience. That's why I am forced to move on now, not because of the updates or the poor management, but because of the negativity in the community which seems to be very contagious...I mean there use to be a time when the defenders of LFS were very enthusiastic and very motivated ppls, now they are just as bitter as the ppls cursing it and that's a poor spectacle for a real LFS lover, just can't stand it...Did my first game on a computer in 1982 and LFS will remain in the top 3 of my favourite games for a very long time, probably till the end of my gaming career, which isn't too far away now!

And I am grateful those 3 guys took the time to make LFS, it has been a blast!
