As you will know because you have spoken to us on one of our servers tonight, but nobody else will so I will repeat some of it so it doesn't look like we are ignoring you, it was a very bizarre situation for Fras.
I don't believe any contact was particularly meaningful however his car had a loss of power afterwards which repairing damage inside the pits did not fix. There was also no visible damage to the car. I mention all of this just out of curiosity as to whether anybody else has ever experienced something similar. I don't know whether lag was involved, it was as if his game thought there was something wrong with the car but the server did not... very strange.
Do we have a link for the broadcast stream yet? I was hoping to be able to share it with a couple of friends so they can tune in wherever they may be in the world.
Even if it means you lose a couple of positions try to get as quickly and safely as possible out of being 3 wide. The problem comes when a car from the second row feels it is time to go down the inside of the first position. At that point wherever it is on the track you are 4 wide (if it happens quite quickly).
Some of the practice sessions towards the end were done without any cautions. I appreciate one of the major contributing factors that was not so many cars on the track.
If everybody has the attention to at least do their best to finish and avoiding contact even if it means dropping back slightly, you never know, we may all surprise ourselves.
Seeing as there will be only a maximum of 5 Fragmaster cars on the grid it seemed silly to not all use the same colour scheme. Here is the revised 777 in 2048x2048
I would have been right in the middle but wasn't happy with my average of just under 37.00
I got greedy, tried again, screwed up and the time that eventually counted put me right at the back of the grid. Such is the way it goes.
I was right at the back last year and it didn't work out too badly. If you can't be at the front you're better off not being in the middle anyway I think. At least you can see everything ahead and see potential problems and try to take action.
Sometimes when you are right in the middle you can get swiped before you realise there's a problem around you.
I think these are all the skin files which will be required in 2048x2048
193 is wild and he has been excluded
927 is rags and he has been excluded
258 is popps and he did not do the necessary practice sessions I believe.
I have not included those 3 cars, if you need them anyway please let me know.
I think there is a difference, very big difference, between "taken out by FM" and "I ended up out of the race and the contact was between my car and a car that is FM".
If you wanted a big argument I could go on and on about how I don't regard the incident as my fault. However you have said you don't really want to get into anything, and that's cool.
All I will say is that I would have been more than happy to draft with you for the remaining laps. I didn't deliberately set out to cause you to not be in the race any more. I wasn't hugging the apex but at the same time I was by no means high.
I wish you all the best for any more practice sessions you take part in and hope you are successful in qualifying.
lol, well that's true, I have faith in other teams
Besides you have to have them ready before qualifying so it would be a problem. Although from the post above the rule is going to be enforced so my work will not be in vain and the other teams potentially have a headache to sort things out within the next week.
I see some teams have submitted a set of skins where they have more than 5 which are the same paint job.
Personally I have always liked the idea that a team has colours and it doesn't matter whether they are 10 or 2, team colours are team colours.
I don't know how I can say this without sounding like an arse, but if you are going to continue with this rule of only 5 cars allowed to look the same please can you make sure the other teams realise this. I have had to split FM in half and it would be quite frustrating if when it comes to the race other teams did not have to go through this inconvenience.
1 AM our time with the race potentially an hour later... you'll be asleep at the wheel, and still do pretty well depending on the competition that turns up
I always feel that you have a responsibility to the cars behind you during a safety car parade. That's why quite often during the early stages of a yellow flag situation you will find a gap between the people immediately behind the safety car and myself.
Meanwhile I am collecting cars behind me and gently bring them up to the field.
I do not feel I am doing any favours to the car in front, my own tyres, or the people behind me if I get to the end of the line as quickly as possible and then jam on the brakes.
If I am behind somebody that is not keeping a fairly constant speed I'm going to keep my distance. I would rather have Deko shouting at me because I'm not close enough rather than risking unnecessary contact.
I was actually reminded of your thread about soft admining (is that even a word) when I saw this one.
It's all about being able to go to a server with confidence in the knowledge that if anybody does anything like that on a FM server it will be the first and last time they ever do.
