Quote from spankmeyer :Can't link the pic here straight but I got some new fine (coarse?) art at my Flickr so comments and critique are welcome. If you're offended by harmless n00dity, thou shalt not enter.

Did you purposefully tag that image to attract all the weirdos on flickr? lol. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten any creepy comments yet.

Here's one from me. (of me)

Quote from piggy501 :Wrong. I'd say Volvos looked better and served a purpose.

They look like someone showed the designers an old volvo and said "Make this x-treme!"

That thing looks ugly as hell. Whats with these super cars with no curves lately? Its like they all hired designers that worked for volvo back in the day.

Quote from IlGuercio :If you said "I shot this pic at 12800 iso" back in the film era people would have just laughed at you
Spank,i don't really like them, perhaps you are right when you say you were uninspired

My Canon A-1's iso dial goes up to 12800

Check out what I made in class yesterday.

Shot on 35mm, printed on 8x10 fiber paper. I can't wait to print some more stuff in the darkroom!

Was up at Shenandoah last weekend. Started out foggy as hell, luckily around 2am the sky cleared enough to see the milky way.

Quote from Tomba(FIN) :Lol, changed up my mind the last time. Just ordered Canon EF 70-300mm IS USM and lens hood for it. I hope it will be worth the money!

Its a good lens. Gets a little soft near 300mm. Anything better costs buckets of money though.

Quote from Tomba(FIN) :How about

Canon
EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS
or
Sigma 50-200mm f/4-5.6 DC OS HSM

I forgot about the ef-s 55-250. It is a very good lens for the price!

Quote from Tomba(FIN) :lol took me some minutes to get the idea how to update the firmware of my camera.. It was too simple and explained with too much of words.

I need help with buying a new lens. It has to be around 200-300euros zoom lens, fitting in 450D.
I was looking for Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM and Sigma 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 APO Macro DG. Better lenses anyone?

The canon 75-300 is pretty bad. Dunno about the sigma though. I'd save up and get the canon 70-300 IS, or the canon 70-200 f4L (non IS). They both cost about the same, 500-600USD.

I have the 70-300, and kind of wish I went for the 70-200. The extra 100mm doesn't really get you THAT much closer. And the 70-200 is a very impressive white L lens

I love my 30 year old film camera. I haven't touched my thousands of dollars of digital camera gear in over a month.

My brother in law is a professional photographer and gave me some of his old stuff he never uses anymore, including a set of wireless flash triggers. Tried them out at work the other day....

Had my 580EXII speedlite mounted on my tripod as the worlds most expensive ghetto lightstand, and either bounced the flash off of a reflector or shot it through a diffuser.

Quote from STROBE :What is it you like about the 40D?

First off its a bigger camera than the xti. It fits my hand much better. It seems to be about the same size as my friend's 5D. He's out of town for a while so I can't compare directly. I bought the battery grip for my xti not for extra battery life, but for more area to hold on to the camera.

Second is the much better AF accuracy. I use AI Servo mode alot and my keeper rate with action shots is much better. The accuracy is just plain better for non action shots as well.

Third is 6.5fps.

It seems to have a small but noticable increase in overall image quality, even though it supposedly uses the same sensor as the XTi. Though it might just be the more accurate AF. High ISO performance is better, plus higher ISO. ISO 3200 noise seems to be only slightly worse than 1600 on my XTi. Live view is neat. I haven't had a chance to play with it seriously yet though. There are 3 custom modes on the dial that save every single parameter on the camera. Custom functions and everything. When you use live view the camera is really really quiet, which can be useful in some situations .

Overall it just feels like a solid, 'real' camera and not a plastic entry level model with compromises to reduce price or attract people moving up from P&S.

I just got a 40D the other day. Can't wait to get some pics with it. I love how it fits in my hand comfortably without the need for a battery grip. Looking at my xti next to it the xti looks like a tiny point and shoot. 6.5fps sounds like a machine gun!

Get the steering wheel too, especialy if you have an hdtv. Mine is only 32 inches but when you move the wheel right up to it it feels huge and is pretty immersive. When I sit farther away with the wheel I get a very disconnected feeling, like I'm only sort of in control. Kinda hard to explain.

Quote from Boxerrumble :$30/month * 12month/year = $360 a year

even adding in the price of the phone, $360 + ~$200 = $560.

$560 =/= $1000 hehe, just wanted to have some fun with this one

The 30 bucks is data only. The actual cell phone plans START at 40. So its atleast $70 per month. Add 5 or 10 bucks here and there for text messaging and crap and it gets really expensive quick.

My interest in spore waned almost completely when EA announced they were using DRM that only allowed you to install it like 3 times or something. I'm probably going to pass on it.

Quote from jibber :How did you know it wasn't poisoning?

Anyone who knows anything about snakes (I have one as a pet) can tell that it is a harmless garter snake. Luckily here in the states all of our venomous snakes look like venomous snakes, except the coral snake which is very brightly colored and is nowhere near here
