That thing looks ugly as hell. Whats with these super cars with no curves lately? Its like they all hired designers that worked for volvo back in the day.
The canon 75-300 is pretty bad. Dunno about the sigma though. I'd save up and get the canon 70-300 IS, or the canon 70-200 f4L (non IS). They both cost about the same, 500-600USD.
I have the 70-300, and kind of wish I went for the 70-200. The extra 100mm doesn't really get you THAT much closer. And the 70-200 is a very impressive white L lens
My brother in law is a professional photographer and gave me some of his old stuff he never uses anymore, including a set of wireless flash triggers. Tried them out at work the other day....
Had my 580EXII speedlite mounted on my tripod as the worlds most expensive ghetto lightstand, and either bounced the flash off of a reflector or shot it through a diffuser.
First off its a bigger camera than the xti. It fits my hand much better. It seems to be about the same size as my friend's 5D. He's out of town for a while so I can't compare directly. I bought the battery grip for my xti not for extra battery life, but for more area to hold on to the camera.
Second is the much better AF accuracy. I use AI Servo mode alot and my keeper rate with action shots is much better. The accuracy is just plain better for non action shots as well.
Third is 6.5fps.
It seems to have a small but noticable increase in overall image quality, even though it supposedly uses the same sensor as the XTi. Though it might just be the more accurate AF. High ISO performance is better, plus higher ISO. ISO 3200 noise seems to be only slightly worse than 1600 on my XTi. Live view is neat. I haven't had a chance to play with it seriously yet though. There are 3 custom modes on the dial that save every single parameter on the camera. Custom functions and everything. When you use live view the camera is really really quiet, which can be useful in some situations .
Overall it just feels like a solid, 'real' camera and not a plastic entry level model with compromises to reduce price or attract people moving up from P&S.
I just got a 40D the other day. Can't wait to get some pics with it. I love how it fits in my hand comfortably without the need for a battery grip. Looking at my xti next to it the xti looks like a tiny point and shoot. 6.5fps sounds like a machine gun!
Get the steering wheel too, especialy if you have an hdtv. Mine is only 32 inches but when you move the wheel right up to it it feels huge and is pretty immersive. When I sit farther away with the wheel I get a very disconnected feeling, like I'm only sort of in control. Kinda hard to explain.
The 30 bucks is data only. The actual cell phone plans START at 40. So its atleast $70 per month. Add 5 or 10 bucks here and there for text messaging and crap and it gets really expensive quick.
My interest in spore waned almost completely when EA announced they were using DRM that only allowed you to install it like 3 times or something. I'm probably going to pass on it.
Anyone who knows anything about snakes (I have one as a pet) can tell that it is a harmless garter snake. Luckily here in the states all of our venomous snakes look like venomous snakes, except the coral snake which is very brightly colored and is nowhere near here
