Did you really "please donate for bigger projects" in the description of your video? Some of the top brass old school movie makers should have gotten proper paid in tons of money then if a simple 10 minutes worth of easy work deserves a "please donate"
Butthurt? Me? In somebody else's thread? No. What I am is disgusted by you, talentless, cheap hack.
Guy puts effort in his driving and video, posted it here and all you jackass do is trying to ride his hype (hype, that's rich for a dead forum, but doesn't change the fact.).
Anyways, i recommend you produce a couple of training excercise videos before getting started on a bigger one. Post them here, listen to criticism, make conclusions, improve on needed areas.
It will save you the trouble of having to improve everything at once after having put a huge amount of time and effort in realising one good movie idea just to find out you failed in basic aspects like editing or camerawork.
If you spend your time on excercises on pointless enough action videos (like do some drifting and just film it with good camerawork, or get a few good shots of a car cruising slowly and apply some good effects), you will improve the skills necessary without wasting a good idea of a bigger movie. A lot of good ideas are ruined by poor execution.
back in the day, people tried to make their drift videos stand out, used new creative techniques. These days it seems having a video that's a carbon copy of every other drift video is where it's at.
1. There are tons of better options on how to do a quick transfer from slow and idle to hardcore drifting to DnB then go "Surprise motherf***er". Besides, you could see that coming a mile off, the slow bit was overstretched.
2. Sounds... well, try editing them to suit your needs, not just rip them out of a video and stick them to lfs footage.
3. Did the movie have an ending? If yes, why did you cut to black way before we got to that part?
4. Stock sounds of LFS + outsourced sounds. Pick one of those, stick to it.
5. Camerawork... well you pointed it at the car most of the time, so I guess there was some. Doesn't mean it was creative or good. Work on trying to show off the action your filming from the most dramatic angles, not just show it.
It's a late '07, 1st gen restyle, 2.0 6spd, bought new. Since then : changing oil, coolant, a few sets of brake pads, set of brake rotors, filters, lightbulbs, tires. Done about 50k kilometers in it, tight as a drum.
No problems whatsoever. There was an issue with the front cv shafts at full lock under load (starting movement for example) in temperatures of -25c or colder. There would be a knocking noise, but that seems a common problem for all post restyle 6's. Changed the lubricating compound for a more cold resistant one - problem does not occur anymore. Front lip is knackered by now, small scratches on paint, and rear bumper has seen better days (2 cracks).
That car is an appliance to me, The BMW, on the other hand, while being mine for 2 months only and draining my bank account like crazy, is a very special 1.5 tons of metal, plastic and wires.
Bought me a hobby, cause having a perfect record mazda 6 is boring and doesn't really bring any bonding with the car... So I went out and bout an E34. Pretty much no rust and it has a sunroof. And if you know your e34's - you know that a sunroof sedan is pretty much a guarantee of sideskirt rust.
Anyways, tons to do with it just to get it properly working before I can even get to modifying, but for later - plans are "slotting in a v8 4.0 and a 6 spd manual", respray, leather interior, 17 inch wheels, full respray, etc etc etc
1. Graphics mods : Check out Lynce's revolution pack, that gives you properly shiny graphics, maybe look for other mods to combine it to, make sure your PC is capable of properly shiny graphics. I haven't been playing LFS for quite some time but I KNOW i've had better looking LFS than what you're showing off. You want me to remember exact mods off the top of my head? Fat chance.
2. Nice drifts is NOT what you've shown, that contact with the wall that "never happened because accidental blur all over the screen" is just the tip of the iceberg
3. Editing and filming... well... not much to say except - follow these easy steps click
GT5 GFX? You sure? Anyways, I haven't launched LFS in a couple of years, but I know for sure that I've had better looking graphics mods, don't know what you're raving about.
That some "Epic drifting" thing is quite a false promise as well...
As a movie though this is a frapsed replay, so I got no idea what the hell the purpose of this video is.
