Yes I know it's pre-beta and Windows 8 isn't ready for prime time but I went and installed it anyway.

This isn't really a bug in LFS but it might be fixable in game because Microsoft probably will leave it the way it is.

In Windows 8, the far left edge of the screen is now an activator for ALT+TAB, moving and clicking in that area causes the current viewed window to flip out and be replaced with another. This even occurs whilst racing in LFS in full screen (with mouse controls of course).

Only fix I can think of is to make LFS ignore the far left edge by removing say 20 pixels from the boundary or something. Is it possible? Maybe.

I've been looking for the last couple of hours for a basic addon (or addons) that make LFS look and sound better. There are many to choose from but many seem out of date (for old LFS versions).

The main two mentioned are Revolution and Hi Res Pack. Revolution mainly seems to focus on putting a few very nice sports car skins in and the from what I read, the Hi Res Pack isn't recommend for the latest patch.

Can anyone recommend simple addons that will just improve the look and sound for the whole game, rather than installing loads and loads of custom textures one by one?

Look it's quite simple, you need to buy a PS3 and preorder Gran Turismo 5 which features four Scirocco models.

I had to change the ini file so it said 0.5z28=cvw6 for it to work.

As an experiement can you do a quick Z16 build - make it identical to Z15 apart from the number and I reckon these freaks will still find things they think are different from Z15. Also it might get things back on topic again.

Didn't say there had to be a button for each combo - but why not the same buttons on the right hand side as in the Single Player menu?

lol - The PS3 has one of the world's most complex home CPU's buzzing inside it - if anything it's the 256MB of Ram that holds the beast back.

How about a way to filter servers by track too?

Mouse users don't have it easier at all - remember with a mouse the braking and accelerating is digital, not analogue as with pedals. Wheelspin and Wheel/Brake locking and subsequent high tyre wear is something mouse users such as myself suffer from much more than wheel users.

I have to agree with you Fordman - I had exactly the same experience the other night.

Wanted to race on a busy server, there was only one with a decent amount of people on. As soon as I tried to join the race the server app kicked me because I hadn't set a pb on that track before.

I can understand setting pb standards on private servers but if you decide to make yours public, why bother putting these Nazi programs on which stop anyone but the regulars joining anyway? Might as well give them all a password and make it private, then you wouldn't need such an obtrusive app kicking people anyway.

You can try right clicking the exe or setup file and choose SP1 in compatability mode.

Other than that you might just want to try getting a second PC just for the streaming or for your other work while your main pc is doing the streaming.

Just because you have SP3 doesn't mean you can't use software released that needed SP1 at the time. SP3 is just a collection of bug fixes and patches for Windows, it doesn't make old programs not work all of a sudden (that is a job for Windows Vista).

If you've installed any hires graphics packs then you should remove them also - the plain LFS install will be the best performing.

yeah the idea of the two mouse thing was to keep one cursor in LFS and your other for the different stuff - if it would work or not I can't say. The problem is LFS seems designed to shut it's sound off when it's not in focus (which is slightly different to it being always on top)

Tweak UI might work but again I'm not sure

Sorry for being contentious here but I've read through loads of posts here and hardly any relate to bugs specific to Z13. Because people have been waiting for a new patch to try they are just looking for any old bug in LFS and reporting it. My point is that maybe if everyone stopped looking and highlighting old bugs and things which aren't bugs at all maybe we would see a new release sooner. I'm pretty sure the Devs have a list of everything that needs doing and are busy doing it. How about for a change we just wait quietly for some news?
