You might have seen my Wyke Grand Prix circuit (Click to view) which has a oval layout included, I have decided to make a Nascar version of the oval.
It has a working pitlane (When you reset car in pit box) etc. it should be good for oval racing.
If you notice, most of the configurations have a lot of run-off area where it is possible to do so apart from on the oval, in real life oval's have a wall all the way around the edge. but the racing circuit configurations do have run-off areas.
Also, there is no way of cutting any of the track in any places, I have made sure of that.
Okay heres a layout that iv been making for around 4 years, every time I got bored id just make a bit more, and a bit more, and new configurations, test them etc etc. I must have put around 600 laps on this track by now and I have tested it with a few friends in all cars it is fantastic for racing on.
I have heard that it got leaked by someone who tested it with me, though if you have driven this before, it was NOT the completed version, so here it is finally! I have gotten round to releasing this layout.
I hope you all enjoy driving it as much as I have done making it over the past few years.
There are many configurations so I have packed all the layout files into a .RAR to make it easier.
The main race circuit layout is the North Grand Prix, it is the longest circuit of them all. the rest I have added over the years.
Also it has a working pit lane, when you press reset, you are facing the correct way, and most of the layouts have this pitlane aswell, and also I have added a pitlane for the oval circuit.
and I have made a open configuration of the layout that I have also added.
Iv got the hang of photoshop and that tool you suggested Eclipsed. Thank you so much for that tutorial!
Here is what I have come up with so far.
Now all is left to do is save the layout in every configuration, Take a lot of screenshots, upload video showing the different configurations on youtube, then I will release it.
I have been Slowly making this layout for about 3-4 years, once or twice per month when im bored messing with it so that its perfect.
So keep a look out! though I was going to release it about 2 years ago, I kept on adding more configurations and more, and extra slip roads etc, then a fully functioning pitlane for when you reset car your pointing the correct way etc. (the red line in the picture) but I will release it soon!
Edit: Whilst im typing, might as well say, the layout started when I took the oval track that I made back in 2007-2008? it was supposed to be kinda a Pocono replica oval shape, altho from the maps iv made it looks like ky oval haha!. then I started making configurations in 2010 because I was bored, then it transformed into something great, the turns before the final turn are supposed to replicate some what to maggots and beckets from Silverstone, and the rest iv just made up as iv gone along really. I must of put etleast 600 laps in over 4 and half years, testing it so that its not just any old layout like the ones iv made in the past in a day, or my best ones in a day or two or three. its something different, and you can't tell that from the opening post screenshots. so keep a eye out for this one. It has been tested privately by a few friends of mine who are swore to secrecy and haven't shared etc, and it is fantastic to race on for a layout. Hope you all enjoy the final version!
okay thanks ill give it a try, but im pretty useless on photoshop haha!
Edit: Good lord!!!, earlier this afternoon I was messing about for hours deleting the outside of the track, then trying to fill it in etc etc to try make maps, and iv just done as you said, that's EASY.
True though as my first time it doesn't look professional, but omfg, I wish id of asked for help earlier before spending hours trying to do something that I gave up on haha!
Im looking for somebody who could make some track maps for me, I have a layout, and im going to be posting it on the forums, but I need somebody to make some track maps before I do so as there are MANY configurations.
Here is a example picture of what I mean by a track map, I need something like this making please.
I tried today on photoshop, but it looked terrible, I could of done better with a pen and paper.
if you are somebody who could help me with this, drop me a inbox, or just post all the pictures in a reply on here
Edit: Iv attached 2 pictures, first one shows the track as you can see so many different possible configurations of this complex.
Second picture shows some example configurations.
I need track maps of every possible configuration if someone has the time.
i have IE 7, and google chrome, nether of which seem to work, IE 7 doesn't have the link bar thing on the left, google chrome it comes up, but can't select anything no links work :/
thanks.
(Long story why i still use IE 7 haha, can't stand the default fonts on IE 8, and i use google chrome only as a backup incase some websites don't work, but in this case it doesn't work)
Here is a Nascar oval layout i have made, its the biggest oval possible on autocross. Its great fun, and would be great for leauge racing.
Pit lane:
It has a nascar style pit lane, wide pit boxes which you can press car reset in and still be facing the correct way, pit lane speed 80kph/ roughly 50mph (50 is marked on the floor for mph).
And includes a yellow pit box for the safety car to wait in at the end of the pit lane. Pit lane is acessed via entering the apron on the back streight.
Turns/Apron: The insides of the turns are marked with white lines, and two sets of speed bumps and cones, so even if you try to corner cut, its actually slower hitting the speed bumps. And on the very insides of the turns are the aprons used to enter/exit the pits.
Turn 1 - 2 is slightly different to 3 and 4, so it isnt just the same thing at both ends of the oval.
Also, the outside of the turns are marked with chalk lines not walls so that you have some runoff area.
Streights: The back streight has 3 lane markings down it like a road, simerlar to martinsville. The front streight is the one next to the pit lane which has the start/finish.
Race starts: As you know on autocross the start line faces you in which would be the wrong direction to go around this layout, but as real nascar have rolling starts which is what you would have to do in a race on this layout, after lining up, rolling around turn 4 is a Blue line which indicates when the leader can decide to gun it or not for a race to the line to start the race etc. (if your a nascar fan you will know all this etc)
Iv included a XRT setup for you to try also.
If you want to use this for any leauge racing feel free, i would like a invite though . Do not edit it without my permission please. Thanks
gotta ask, how the hell do you make a oval on this program, i dont know how to use it :/ know how to place a object and move it, no idea how to make a oval with ramps
