Yeah, using windows 7 x64 build 7048. 8GB might seem like a lot of ram, but with vista the more you have the more it wants to use. When im playing gta4 with high quality textures it uses over 50% of my ram as shown on my g15. Right now, im using 14% or 1.2gb with nothing more then opera open to type this, steam and the logitech g15 apps.

Im selling my g25. I just bought a car, and with work and school and everything i dont play lfs at all. I Am located in newfoundland canada. The wheel is in excellent working condition. No scratches/dents. Same as the day i got it new. only sign of wear is the paint on the screws the hold the pedals on has rubbed off a bit. still smells new. Non-smoking house. Looking for a good home. Please pm me. The wheel is as new, and i paid 344.41 new. I am willing to ship anywhere, aslong as you agree to pay shipping. 260 dollars canadian firm, including shipping to canada, which due to the size and weight of the g25 will probably cost me 50 bucks, plus the cost of a box because the g25 box is made of cheap cardboard and ripped before i got it to the car across the futureshop parking lot, and is no good to ship anywhere. Thanks for looking!
Dont be so hard on the poor guy, he has done nothing wrong. I am sure you guys have already intimidated him enough. He just said things the way he seen them, but didnt know about all the other factors. Maybe if he devoted his life to trolling the lfs forum, he would have known, oh well...
I find heal toeing hard on the g25. I know how to do it just fine, but the metal pedals are hard on my feet, and I find they are too close together. Maybe just me, but i find auto throttle blip on downshift much easier... In a real car, the throttle is further back then the break pedal and clutch pedal, which makes it much easier to heal toe downshift.
LFS is realistic to a certain degree. But in a way, is very unrealistic. LFS is realistic if you race with no mechanical problems, or wear and tear of any kind. And that just doesnt happen in real life. So really it is an ideal racing world, where the only thing that wears is your tires, and gas and tires are free, and the rivers a flowing of lolly pops and candy cane. BTW, if you think the xrt drives like its on ice... Try the formula v8 before the updated physics last year! Even until this day, the LX6 and RAC still feel very loose, but the new clutch preload has fixed it very nicely.
Rather pointless imho. Does it really matter? Honestly, i dont think so, the skinning system is perfect now, and if this is introduced, people will be blind to what is behind them. Not to mention if lfs ever gets night racing. Its bad enough when you get tinted windows in the night... To be able to see the name and nationality I think would be awesome! And maybe a little slogan or something, but skinning the back window would be stupid imo.
I have a laptop and use it for gamming every now and then. There are three things that could be doing it. First of all, if you laptop is not plugged in, a common default in the power conservation programs, is to have them cut back the power to the cpu, and throttle its speed, slow down the GPU, and everything else. If You laptop gets too hot, it will throttle the cpu, and then shut off, but i doubt thats the case. And finally, if your battery is running below a certain percentage (maybe 30%), It will slow itself down. The best thing to do, is uninstall all the garbage power conservation programs, as they all suck. For that matter, a fresh install of windows would probably be nice, to get rid of all of the oem programs HP had to force feed you because there is no way the programs would get on a computer any other way. Had my laptop about 30 seconds before i was deleteing stuff. Second day, i had a formatted hard drive. You would be suprised how much all the crappy programs slow down a computer. Vista is a monster, if that is what you have. I wouldnt want to run it with anything less then 2 gigs of ram, as it will use about 500mb of memory without having any applications open. Sounds to me like its a battery/program cutting back cpu power after so long issue.
I did the very oposite... I sold it all!!! I figured the one thing that would kick lfs's ass would be a real car, so i went for it, i have yet to get a car though... Maybe after a few cheques. Everyone is spending all of this moneys on their computer, but you can have the real thing!!! People have 3 22" lcd monitros set up with a th2go!!!! Thats probably 2000 dollars woth of monitor exuipment, not to mention the 500 dollar video card needed to run it all! Then the g25, and the cockpit, and all the other computer parts! Get a real car, the graphics are great, the ffb is amazing, and the sounds are even better! And for all the ricers, yes, you can get all the crappy neon, fake goodscoops, giant spoilers, and hideous paint/graphics you want!!!
With the g25, i usually floor it, in 1st gear with the clutch in all the way, then holding the handbake, i release the clutch slowly, untill the car starts to move ahead. You can move a little bit before the green light. As soon as the light goes green, i release the handbrake, and release the clutch slightly more, there is no wheel spin, but you get an incredibly fast start. In the XRR, I get 1.30 g's all the way through 1st, which i have redline going about 85 km/h.Doing this, no-one will touch you. You can do a burn-out at the beginning, depending on the car you are driving. the gt cars do them nicely. and heat the tires good for turn one. I dont really agree with auto-spectate when you false start. Kind of off topic, but, whats the point of having false starts if you cant actually have one? I know there would be rammers at the line, just to ruin others races, but you can ban them. I think having a drive through penality may actually be ok, if you know you can make it far enough ahead of everyone else at the start. Not to mention getting away from the turn one havoc.
He probably is/did read this thread...but didnt want to post because of the overwhelming force against him.
I would also say his fault. He hit you, doesnt matter if you slammed on the brakes, its his fault, he should learn to not just anticipate, but react. He anticipated you NOT breaking on the turn, and didnt react when you did. His fault.
I hate when you read the last post on the page, and think its the last post in the thread, then respond, and realize there more pages... This one wasnt sooo bad, i have skipped many pages before, and felt like an idiot. It mostly happens when people respond to a thread quickly, like this one...
I dont know if this is the right place for this or not, but you can see thru object when using the autocross editor... If you move them to be positioned behind the sliders. I dont know if this is new or old. I couldnt find anything about it...
Meh, just use fraps... Or get a screen shot, if your computer really cant handle it. But fraps would be awesome, because im sure everyone wants to see it...
There is no temp file from the exercises... What is a demo player to do? Also, i guess i should be everyone favorite canadian racer, seeing I elimated the xrt overtaking lap from the test... Which isnt hard anyways... But still.
HAHA, i guess no one gets the licence! Thats too bad, i was having fun playing in the xrt's first lesson on the car park. I got it so i spun around, backed in the gate thing, then whipped the car around again 90 degrees so i was Parallel parked. I want to save it...
