Is there any way the devs could consider making the drag strip map include an option for staging and free racing? What I mean is, you start a ways back in your lane, heat up the tires, move to the line, and wait for the tree to light up. Maybe there could be a way to only let the starting sequence enable when both (all) cars are staged correctly? That might add a few variables into the monotony of the drag strip.
The tweaks become more and more spartan. The devs need to release the values and how to manipulate them, as well as a license protection system. Every patch the new tweak is missing something else.
I remember when we used to have:
tire size
Tire spacing
Engine location to any degree (could put it under the driver if needed)
Turbo on/off
Engine configuration (inline, V, Flat)
More engine control (19000rpm was possible)
wind resistance
etc.
Now you can make silly cars and thats it. Can't make my F430 because the tires aren't the right size, or the engine sounds off with a car that has similar tires. What a shame, the more realistic LFS becomes, the less control over custom cars. The way things are headed, S3 is a no go for me.
I hate to say this, but now my program isn't working anymore. It did work fine but now its saying I need to unlock S2, which is unlocked using english.
Get a case together and sue the police. Seriously, if you had to spend a night in jail on baseless charges, you should get some money for it. The police over here do things like that all the time.
Sorry to hear about your prison time. Hope everything works out well. Even if it doesn't make any difference, please ignore those that can't get it working. Its their problem if they can't figure it out, you have made it clear in numerous posts how this program is made to work. You, and numerous others have also posted to help some of these people out, but they can't figure it out.
You did very well, better than anyone so far, considering the obstacles. Make it fun for yourself, don't listen to the demands of others whom you don't even know. A lot of the people here are kids that can't appreciate something for what it is, so simply ignore them.
I have Vista x64 and I got the tweak to work every time it was released, its great! Until someone else does better than you, they have no argument. Sure there are some missing features, but this isn't an early S1 patch, things have obviously become more difficult to tweak.
Figure out your personal developments, then get back on here one way or another. If you don't want to work on the tweak program anymore, at least be part of the community. If you do decide to work on it further, simply block anyone who gives you anything but praise. Just make sure when people ask for new features that you realize they're not saying you've done a bad job, they are just giving you ideas on how to make the program better.
Either way, job well done! Hope everything works out!
PS: Ciph, look how popular this program has been. Its on page 23, with almost as many views as the stickied add-on database at the topic of the sub forum.
Not necessarily, I am talking about creating an M3 (e46) or otherwise with peak power above 7000rpm, which the current release can't do. The most I've been able to get out of a setup is 6790rpm.
Got it to work first try Ciph, of course I had already installed the latest .net framework and followed the rest of the instructions. Now just get tire dimensions, weight, engine location, unlimited redline, and turbo pressure, and it'll be great!
6973 is the max RPM for any engine config so it limits a lot of car configs. Everything else seems to work fine. Not even going to touch the Rim editor
There comes a point when it needs to be realized that those with 3-4 year old PC's can sit back and not play the game or spend the cash and upgrade. If people want to have a gaming setup last more than 3-4 years they need to move to consoles.
We're still looking at DX8 (at least it looks like it) and very limited visuals when DX10 is a year old.
$200 graphics cards (3850-3870, 8800GT, etc) can play LFS at 1900x1200 with 8xAA and 16xAF with 100-200fps with 20 cars on the grid, and 300-400fps on the track alone. If you can't afford an $80 8600GT or equivalent then its time to stick to older games. With those settings and 20 cars I am using 214MB for LFS and only 1259MB in Vista X64
Make sure you guys have the tweak folder in the same folder as LFS for the 380 error. Also make sure you have the comdlg32.ocx and settings file in the same folder as the tweak.
If you are still getting the errors try loading up a different car. The GTi causes the 380 error every time I switch to that car.
Also, I am not getting the option for engine size. Engine config doesn't work, Rim editor is grayed out too. Half the time I change cars it says the program requires Patch Y (I'm using english setup) and when I change back to the XRT it says the same.
