I'll take the chance and answer that Franky.
Yes, there could be some new config options added in the files, or completely new files altogether.

I got your message earlier that Airio was now available at 500servers, and have now set it up and it's running on our servers. You do realize that installing it for every server is not needed? One instance of the program can control several servers. I only installed it once, then copied over my config/stats files from when I ran it on my own pc, and so far looks to be running fine.

Don't forget to include the one about penguins being killed. Almost fell off my chair from that one. Pure gold!

Ye, I'll do that. It seems to have trouble with our demo server. Soon after I start Airio, it just disconnects from it. Or some time goes by and the whole application hangs.

Hmm, last version, 2.0.9, seems to crash a lot for me. Anyone else having problems?

I consider myself as having a fairly smooth driving style. Well, you can for example check my hotlap at FE3/FXR, and then check the next guy there. Should be some difference I think.

Quote from EQ Worry :Good point, it is now implemented and will be available in 2.0.9 when it is released.

Thank you.

Quote :At present I do not plan to create any subfolders in Airio folder. I may change my view though, because the number of files there can go up once you manage several servers and have several language versions available. There could be folders like CFG, SRV, MGS, STA and LOG... I'll think about it.

Yes, please do. Especially the log files build up rather fast, and should be in their own sub dirs. I'm thinking something like logs\2009\01\Airio.log.2009.01.30.txt - where 01 stands for january. Would make it a whole lot easier.

Another thing, I think I might have found a bug. The welcome message Airio sends when a player connects seems to be limited in text length, so that if the server name is too long it cuts off text at the end. When I join our server it says:

XFusion|arco, welcome to XFusion|Racing Privat

It cuts off the last e in Private

Hi,

It looks like the RestartBtn config option applies to both a restart race, and a qualify session. I would like it to only apply for race restarts, any maybe add another option for qualify if possible - QualifyBtn.

I'm also wondering if it's possible to save the log files in their own sub directory?

Apparently there's support for that USB stick in Linux, so you could run kubuntu livecd or something until you get a NIC that works.
arco

Tried the drivers for your onboard NIC available here?
arco
S2 licensed
Yeah, driver signing can be turned off (must do it on every boot though), but since the drivers you posted are 32-bit they simply won't work on 64-bit. I tried to do some searching on the net for x64 drivers, but no luck.
arco

Pretty old USB NIC, so I think you're out of luck on that one. If you were running Vista x32 you should be able to load the XP drivers, but in x64 you of course need 64-bit drivers and they must be digitally signed.

Quote from avellis :(However, it was extremely funny yesterday, when [noobs] speedway was trying to connect without having put his admin password in, and he got kicked consecutively and, eventually, banned )

I did the mistake of leaving the curse list empty, resulting in that everyone who was not an admin got kicked. Took a little while before figuring out where the problem was. Maybe put in a check in the program so that it doesn't react to blanks?

Indexing means you are able to fast forward or jump in the video file. When it's not indexed you can only watch it from the start and not jump to eg. the middle of the video. I'm downloading that file now, and if its the whole deal, I might convert it to mp4 and put it on torrent.

Quote from Takumi_lfs :Hardware issue? Are you sure? My system is working fine. It's just that some of the programs arent COMPATIBLE with W7.

Usually when a lot of programs starts to crash for no reason, it's often a hardware issue behind it. But since it's a beta, it can of course also be a bug in Windows itself.
arco
S2 licensed
Sounds like a hardware issue. Faulty memory, bad blocks on harddrive or overheating.

The 6.1 is simply for compatability.

Quote :Microsoft developers have a ready explanation for the phenomenon. Many programs check the version number of the operating system and will not install if the number falls outside a specified range. Microsoft insists that virtually all programs that run on Vista will run without alteration of Windows 7 and it doesn't want installations to bomb just because of a failed version number check. So what is officially known as the "major version number" was kept at 6.

Quote from EQ Worry :Speed is always measured, either globally or in speedtraps you may define on each track (which is better because then crash speed is not captured). There is no admin setting to turn off speed measuring completely. However, every racer may turn off best speed messages for himself. The button is called "Race speed" and you'll find it in the GUI since 1.9 something.

I was thinking of a setting that globally turns off the best speed message for everyone, and have it off by default. Then if they want to see it, they can activate it themselves.

Quote :The option screen is weight-centered. What I mean is that the action buttons themselves are in center, while the background limiting area is moved slightly to the left. This makes place for server logo and is also more appropriate for race-end screen with buttons on the right.

Yeah I can see that the buttons in the options screen are centered. It looks better imo if the window itself was centered. Same with the other info windows, like !top. Not really a big deal, but that's what I would prefer.

Is there a global setting for turning off the speed output?
Also, is it possible to get the graphical interfaces centered on the screen? On my widescreen monitor they are positioned more to the left.

Just a simple calculator would be fine too. Like you do a couple test laps to find fuel usage for one lap, and then just multiplies that with the number of laps you're gonna race. For example !calc 3.4*30

Sort of like a command line calculator if you understand.
