And he falters at the end of a 52km time trial....you did see that coming didnt you? You cant win a time trial in the first 20km but you can loose it and in this case a chance at a yellow jersey.
I never did think Schleck would get away, he would try a a few attacks but wouldnt get very far, though DAMN when Contador went i thought it was all over but he came back.
Was a good battle except for those crazy spectators, and the gap when they went like 1:20 they closed down the gap in like 45 seconds was mental
Oh im not disagreeing, i know full well there is no gentlemens code when racing.
I once called a guy through to try and catch the leading group, he didnt a faster rider came past and he jumped straight on his wheel. I had to chase down the gap alone...then ended up finishing 3rd but thats another story.
Im just saying that people and commentators use this unwritten "Gentlemens code" to try and justify Andys side, but its Andys fault for probably having the gears in some ridiculous ratio.
Found this nice little quote from Cadel in the Herald sun.
"Evans believes Contador was not at fault by not waiting for race leader Andy Schleck when the Luxembourger dropped a chain on stage 15.
"One thing is we're racing. It is racing. If we waited every time something went wrong, we'd still be at stage 3 by now, waiting for someone to adjust there underpants," he said.."
Im more in awe at the couch cycling experts.
Just a reminder that its "A gentlemens code" to not attack when a rival has a problem nothing is written in the rules. And had Andy of had Sanchez in his group no one would really care cause he would still be in yellow.
On Camera when i was watching i saw Andy attack, Contador slow to react trys to come up Andy slows down, Contador keeps going he didnt really attack tbh he didnt suddenly gain speed he just kept at the speed he was going he later attacked further up the slops with Sanchez and Menchov.
Thats racing really, these arent the days of Armstrong and Ullrich when they would have waited let alot maybe Contador though Andy cracked and was making the most of it? Is it only a big deal cause its for the Yellow jersey?
What about Nick roach he had a puncture and no one waited for him? Why did he get a short end of the stick just because he might not win? What about when Cadel...cracked (in more ways then one) you didnt see them waiting just cause his in the yellow jersey. Or Chavenel on the cobbles when he had 2 bike changes 3 wheel changes ect. No one waited for him and he lost the jersey but no one seems to be up in arms about it?
People just need to man up and move on, if anything is going to happen it will be on the col du tourmalet both times they go up it so just wait and see.
Good on you, you little rippa Webber.
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE.
But you damn disrespectful brits blowing your horns and crap during a national anthem disgrace.
Oh and it appears Vettle learnt that when your being squeezed for room during a pass DONT TURN RIGHT!!!!
Im still trying to figure out why he didnt do the burnout regardless of the new cars/engines. He has team mates. Cant they just get both of the cars data average them out then find the part that accounts for the burnout?
