My friend had that one back in the day. Untill 2009 i think... then he bought a pc for 600€ that will be ok for next 10 years. My first graphics card running LFS was Nvidia 6600. It was pretty much fine back then except those horrible lags at the start of the race. But now, when I have this new pc (nvidia 760GTX) the fans dont even speed up during gameplay in summer.
Xbox360 and PS3 already met their destiny 10 years after release. With latest games running around 25-20 FPS. Computers are aging too and it is almost 2016. You can get a desktop computer worth less than 300€ that can be almost equal to next gen consoles.... sure, you have to assemble the parts yourself and choose them wisely(and no SSD drive) but it is definitely worth it. Stop being stuck in previous century.
On behalf of singleplayer league, I must say that 24 cars in race is just wonderful update. However, the text with positions of other racers is overlapping with info on fuel amount left and other informations. Screenshot will tell you more
Again this DX12 bull... well. There are some areas as instancing, where DX12 usage would result in performance improvement. But it would be wise to boost up the graphics of the game and then run another round of performance/ DX improvements
there is no difference between 290 and 500 frames if you dont have monitor from NASA worth 5864537248€ 144Hz(means 144FPS) is the maximum achieved commercialy.
You must be totaly blind or a hardcore "next gen" console player if you think that 30 FPS is not jerky. Movies use motion blur to compensate for the low framerate so you will not notice jerking so much. However, this is not applicable in games because you don´t know which way will camera move so you can´t make proper use of motion blur. Therefore more frames per second are needed to make better illusion of smooth movement.
Another point is that steady 30 FPS is better than randomly jumping from 35 to 50 because your eyes dont have to adjust to different framerate every few seconds.
There are some cases when motion blur is needed, for example tyres spinning in very high speed. In this case it is helpful and increases the illusion of smoothnes because the forward tyre movement is quite predictable.
I personaly have 75Hz monitor, so Im playing on 75 FPS. But i must confess that I notice difference between 60 and 75FPS almost always only in first person shooters, when fighting in tight corridors with need to make fast turns often.
He will get 60, 75 or 120 FPS depending on his PC monitor. But theoreticaly, if he would have 200Hz monitor, he would get two identical frames because between first and second frame, the physics update has not occured.
By the way, no performance change at my side. Still locked on 75FPS on max. settings, everything works perfectly, even after update to Windows 10.
Worst food I ever had was from Mc Donalds Dude, just dont do that again.
To be on topic, I was driving S1 for more than a year before going S2... So if you dont have money for S1+S2, buy S1 for now. I had some good time with it back then.
I'm really concerned now, my 8 year old system copes really well with the new update but as I'm planning on never updating it I need to know,
when S3 is released in 10 years time, that my current PC will be supported ! /s
Your PC will fail one day... mine did after 8 years... GPU´s are going down first if heavily used
Not DX12 itself but some of its features if well implemented . But it is well possible that lfs is not even using all possible features of DX9, so that may be another viable option
Well, I´ve tried Westhill carting and I noticed that my FPS has dropped from 75(V-sync on 75Hz monitor) to 65. My theory about people complaining about the FPS drop on Westhill is caused by very old rendering engine that is not using features of modern GPU´s. Framedrops are not a bug... as Scaven stated.
<unacceptable suggestion>This should be a priority right after new tyres, Scirroco, Rockingham and overall graphic refresh of all tracks and cars. Maybe it is time to wait for DX 12 and to use it´s features that would be benefical. We would be ok with DX 12 for next 15 years. With DX9 as a fallback</>
It's funny when people complain this game needs higher graphics and no one has an ancient computer anymore that can't run games at higher graphics settings, then everyone is complaining when Westhill is a little bit heavier track.. Oh well
Yep... some people dont realise its good to buy a new PC once a 10 years (I had my old one from 2007 to summer 2014).
I have exactly same problem! Sorry for epic necro bump but this topic describes my problem 100%. Did you find out any answers?
- my connection is fine, I have no packet loss at all when doing tests
- I have reinstalled LFS
- I have completely disabled the windows firewall
- tried both TCP and UDP position updates
- I did run the app as an administrator.
I was driving on cargame.nl and I got kicked from server for idling even when I was racing on track. I am also invisible to others... here is a replay. EDIT: Other people see my minimap icon stalled in pits. Collisions work, so server is sending my position to other players.
I have no mods, no texture packs, not even custom music, nothing. Reinstall didnt help. This issue is new for me in 0.6H
So I´ve hit the former space barrier (red and white one) on the edge at 80km/h. It looks hillarious
EDIT: I didnt go to space but i got serious car and suspension damage. In fact, the collision would be quite realistic with better car damage visualisation (NOT A REQUEST)
