So it'll automatically make that PB announcement in the chat?
LFS World setup

Is LFS World functionality (i.e PB, etc) automatically integrated into a host, or does the host have to set it up himself. If the latter, how do you go about doing this?
Choosing a league
BlackSheep720
S2 licensed
The sheer amount of different leagues in LFS confounds me. Is there some database of them where I could find one right for me. Also, based on my stats, what kind of league do you think I should join? Also, I can only race Friday-Sunday, so that might narrow down the options.

Shift-U camera movement

How can you, in the shift-u mode, make it so that the camera is fixed in relation to the car and doesn't shift around when the car turns, brakes, etc?
What's your highest FPS?

Just wondering what the highest FPS is that you've ever hit during a race. I believe mine's around 85 or so. Also, feel free to post your average FPS. Mine's around 50.
Best way to manual shift
BlackSheep720

When in manual mode, how can you tell when the best time is to shift up (or down, for that matter)? I always seem to be loosing speed/acceleration (compared with auto) because I shift too early or too late.

EDIT - LOL, I never noticed that little light. I guess when you play in auto you try to pay more attention to your surroundings than you do to the meters.

Quote from JTbo :

I'm not tired yet

Hmm, you have driven only bit over 2000km, you haven't won even single race, there is tracks you have not driven online and you have no single hot lap uploaded, but you are getting tired of racing around track?

I don't know really what to suggest as racing is going around track, getting faster, trying to overtake and trying to prevent from being overtaken.

Actually, I've driven all the tracks, just not in multiplayer. I've also had experience with all the cars, so the data you see on LFSW may not show the entire picture. I didn't say I've actually completely grown tired of racing tack. I admit, sometimes track races can be exciting and fun, but they grow a little repetitive after a while. I just think LFS would be way more exciting if they broadened their horizons in terms of gameplay/modes.
Ways to make LFS more fun

I'm sure many people (including me), are starting to get tired of just racing around a track again and again. Even the [TC] and Carribean Cruise servers are starting to get a little old. What are some ways we can make LFS more fun while at the same time retaining the realistic physics engine and gameplay? Here are my suggestions: (What are some of your's?)

- A career mode. You can have your career with an f1, GTR, or other class race team. You can make money, climb up the rankings, basically do things that other racers do in real life. Of course, this entire mode would be online multiplayer to add to the realism of the mode. (note: for this mode to work, there would need to be more tracks. See #2)

- Add in some real life race tracks (i.e Infineon, Nurburgring). This would add to the realism and excitement of the game, and even let real life racers train and practice for races.

- Create a track (or series of tracks) with more than one path through the track. This would make the [TC] and CC servers really fun! (programming issues though?)

Well, that's all I can think of for now. If I come up with any more ideas, I'll edit them in. In the meantime, feel free to post any ideas that you have.
Layout questions

1. How can I create a layout on tracks other than Autocross?
2. How can I load layouts on tracks other than Autocross?
3. What command do you put to change the layout on the track if you're a host?

And additionally
What folder do you put your welcome text file in so that you can upload it and let others see it if you're a host?
Top 10 things I hate about other multiplayer racers

These are the things that really, really bug me

1. Racers who use the macro "BLUE FLAG!!! GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!"

2. Racers who think slower racers with a blue flag should be veering off the track to let the passing car go by

3. Racers who berate you for "not using your mirrors," when they don't know that there's such thing as a blind spot

4. Racers who attempt to re-enter the race after a severe crash (without pitting first)

5. Racers who try to pass you on a tight and slow turn

6. Racers who rear-end you and call you a crasher

7. Racers who vote to restart after crashing themselves

8. Racers who try to disconnect you if you accidentally hit them, even if they weren't in contention in the first place

9. Racers who think it's a good idea to tweak or test a new setup in the middle of a heated race

10. Racers who beg and beg for the winner's setup, when they don't realize that what they need is skill

I hope that if you've ever been one of these racers you will understand how mad you make people by doing this kind of stuff, and you will never do it again. Thank you in advance.

How do you know if the person you're attempting to pass has a blue flag? I don't see any marker that would tell you. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd feel kind of guilty and lazy downloading setups from the web, so what is the best way to go about making your own setup? Is there a website that will tell you how to make your own and what all the different settings mean? Any help would be appreciated.
Starting a new team

I'm thinking about starting a new team but I realized that I'm not the best racer out there. Would it be better for me to start my own team or to join one? Can you give me some tips on how to get my team up and running, and how to popularize it? Thanks.
New to hosting -- help please
BlackSheep720

I am new to hosting and want to get a host up and running, but I have a few questions. Any help would be great!

1. Is there a way to talk in the chat so that it's obvious I'm the host/admin and not just someone posing as the host?

2. How can I upload a welcome text file to my host?

3. How can I add objects like barriers, etc, to my track?
Starting multiplayer races

Everytime I try to join a race that's on a multiplayer server, the race always seems to already be going. Is there anyway I can know when a race is about to start? Also: If I wait for a race to end, can I join in on the next round?
Pit stops

Can someone explain to me how a pit stop works and how to make one? Also, during a serious multiplayer race, are you requried to actually drive up pit road, or can you just click "pit" on the menu?
What are the best wheels under $50?

I’m looking for a wheel (with pedals) that is under $50. Can anyone inform me what wheels I should look at? Or are all wheels under $50 low quality? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
