I know Scawen has been making awesome progress from the test patches, that will get into a version V soon, but anyone have any thoughts if anything else will be in V, like a new track or something?
I've gotten to where I can heel toe decently on my g25, I have the ball of my foot on the brake then rotate my heel out towards the gas(so foot is at about a 45 degree angle) then I hit the gas with the top right side of my foot.
I have found it easier to just brake hard and then go from say 5th to 2nd in a hard corner rather than going down through all the gears sequentially, does anyone else do this?
I had to go back to U30, when driving inside the car it sounded like I was wearing earplugs or something, everything was muffled and didnt sound crisp at all. After playing U32 then U30 in the lx6 I have to wonder if maybe my computer just doesn't make it sound right in U32, because it is so much better in U30
I think there is a question of what people would find more enjoyable, certainly some people would want a hyper realistic LFS that requires you to do all of the mundane things you do at a track day while some prefer just to enjoy racing. There needs to be a comprise in allowing ease of use to keep the audience as large as possible while still simulating all of the technical aspects correctly(which I think LFS currently is doing a good job at)
Didn't anyone think that those abilities(seeing tire temp on the fly or seeing suspension) don't exist in real life simply because it wouldn't be practical/possible, and not necessarily because it wouldn't be a good idea to have them? Getting injured yourself in real life when you crash in LFS would also make it more realistic but I don't see anyone asking for that feature. Clearly limiting ourselves to reality is not always the best approach for every aspect of LFS.
If you don't want to view that information, THEN DONT HIT THAT BUTTON, I don't see where the problem is or why people would want to take features away. Personally I think having the option to view more information is always a good thing.
I was just wondering if anyone has found a good assignment for all of the buttons on the shifter for the G25. I am only using 3 of the buttons, plus the two on the wheel for look left/right.
Is there a way to actually use them all?
Maybe it's just me but I could whip my Formula Force wheel back and forth really fast, making it easy to catch slides, now I have to spin the wheel a whole 1 and a half turns really quickly to catch a slide, so now I spin out a lot more. But is definetly cooler having a wheel that turns this much
Yeah I've been autoxing for a year or so now. You should try it out, always lots of fun.
If anyone is in Texas the A&M sports car club has an autox every month during the fall/spring semesters. We have an awesome site(old airport runways) and it's always a lot of fun. Our next event is October 8th, http://www.tamscc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5720
If the hole is now fixed then I hardly see how keeping it a secret helps anyone, I am just curious and as a programmer would like to learn of how holes were missed so that it can be avoided in the future.
Thanks, I will be buying a replacement PSU after work today, so will have to test out all the parts then. Hopefully not long and I will be able to play LFS again!
Well the dead power supply fan(that I didn't notice until too late) probably helped it along, I was in the middle of a LFS race and smelt something funny, but was only half a lap from finishing. I did set a new PB, but then right after I crossed the finish line my computer committed seppuku. Hopefully just replacing the powersupply will fix things, the inside was charred and several components exploded.
