Don't take it so seriously, mate. I mean.... He just failed big time by comparing himself with one of the best server hosting providers, even claiming that he is better... It's really funny - 24/7 support he says, but he doesn't even have a website?? lol.... There isn't even a way to pay him.... And difference between 1st 2 packets - for the 1st you pay less for slot and can pay more if you want an insim(yeah, I just used that damn wrong word :P), as far as i understand, and the 2nd - you pay more per slot and don't have the ability to have an insim(and again)... It's just silly... No matter how many times you explain to him he just won't stop doing all these "companies" and teams..
I wonder why would a webcam be needed(top of the monitor).
Even if it could somehow view thru that helmet(or w/e it is lol), how would that poor little girl be able to look up? Look how she holds to the joystick so she doesn't fall from the chair...
Maybe it isn't problem for you. Well, it isn't for me either, but for some people is. And I have to say that I have always expected such "fix"(or whatever it would be), like the one I mentioned. Not because I need it, but because colors and special characters shouldn't affect the length of a message/nickname, imo.
Edit: You can spam the chat box as it is now too. It's not so much a matter of limitations, but it's more how mature you are. If people spam now - admins warn/kick them, and I don't see the situation changing if the limits become "more real".
Also while we're at it I'd like to add one more suggestion(I don't think it needs a whole thread): When blocking messages either block all of them or make 3 options of message blocking(like press - once - block like now, press it one more time, and block all messages(including /msg ones), then press it once more and they are unblocked like now).
I really don't know if it will be hard for the devs, since I don't know what language they are coding on, etc... But I can do such "system"(it's something too small to be called system really) in less than 20minutes(and if I'm not f***ing around, but coding it could happen reaaally fast - and I mean 5mins max).
But still, I don't know how LFS works so I can't tell how hard it will be to implement it there.
IMO, it would of been better to suggest something like this: When you include a color in your nick - increase the length by 2, and when you remove a color, decrease by 2 again. And the same with all messages.
May also do the same with "\" - but with 1 character.
For that I would vote +1.
But I really don't want to see people with extremely long nicknames.. The amount of characters for a nick/username is, imo, really more than enough. And I really mean - more than what's really needed. Imo, if the thing I just said is ever done, then I'd say put some more limits on nicknames(only nicknames, because usernames can't contain color characters).
24(if I got that right) symbols is more than enough, imo. If nickname/username length increases then /msg messages length should be increased too, so that when some servers need to announce someone's nickname/username/both, there will be enough space. So I'm -2, for those 2 reasons.
Saying just that is wrong, I think. From his question I think that he doesn't know what exactly to do, and I can bet that he doesn't even have C#, because (I can bet that) he hasn't fully read even the 1st post, and let's not talk about the posts after it that explain what you have to do in order to be able to change the program. Actually it is explained in so much posts in this thread, that it's funny how people keep on asking stuff about it.
So once again: Download Visual C# Express Edition(it's easy to use, and please ask google if you don't know where to get it from), open the .sln file or .csproj file and try to find the place in the program that processes new connections (Try to search for NCN). The welcome message should be there, I think.
If you just open form1.cs with notepad I guess questions like "I did it but message didn't appear, what did I do wrong?" will follow, so I hope that's solved too now.
Note: You need Visual C#, not C++ or Basic. Visual C#(aka C sharp). If you open the project with something else you won't be able to build it. If you open it with notepad - you won't be able to build it. If you open only form1 file - ??... Yes, you won't be able to build it. You need to open a file with extension of ".sln", or if that can't be found then ".csproj".
Oh.. To build: Press F6. Saving the project will not update the exe.
Hope this post helped to everyone, but not just "sion92".
The mouse doesn't really suck. It only sucks when the batteries die, which happens like once or twice in a week. 2nd problem is my desk, but I'm soon moving to another place ...anyway ...My PC is a problem indeed, it sucks baaad.
Not really... I can tell you 2... no... 3 factors for failure while racing with mouse(my mouse is a optical wireless one, so 2 of the factors come from there). 3rd comes from my PC.. Not my mouse's fault but it's still something that makes problem about my driving. Promise not to laugh!
1: When mouse batteries just died. I use my mouse not only for steering.. Gas and brake are also there. So let me give you a example: Exiting corner and you want to press the gas button for a short time and steer out of the corner, and batteries die in that very same moment - What happens?.... Your car spins, because the gas is still being pressed and the steering wheel just stays in the angle it was right before the batteries died. Or another funny example: Right before a corner, you are just about to release the gas and hit the brakes... batteries die, gas button is still pressed and after 2 or max 3 seconds the race ends for you.
2: There are some zones on my desk that my mouse "doesn't like". Zones that I guess give a couple of reflections to the laser and that sends false info to my PC, so either I can't steer or everything just goes crazy and I'm like a drunk driver racing on the track.
3: FPS lag when more than 3 people are close to me... This is just my PC. If there is smoke then 2 people can be enough too. Also when my antivirus program triggers, it makes lfs lag like hell too. If I have left skype in "online" mode and someone types then a box appears blinking in LFS and guess what? LFS starts lagging. Well there are tons of other reasons to make LFS lag too, but I think I mentioned enough of them.
On the other hand: Yes I'm doing a lot of mistakes while driving with mouse when all of these factors are missing, because I'm not a good racer really, but... still... I don't necessarily have to do something wrong in order to have problems with mouse driving.
I believe that both /cruise=yes and /laps=0 commands can be put in the cfg file, so every time you run the server they will be set already.
Or other way is to make the insim type them when it connects.
You can't tell for sure...
The server might be private and if you have filtered out private servers you can't see it maybe.. Orr... The host may be hidden.
Orrr: He may be doing what you said.
As far as I understood you want to know how to login as an administrator into your server. Use the server's admin password in this case. It's supposed to be put in the password field right bellow the server name when you join any host.
