Wow Ian doesnt it get boring for you? I fully understand your point and I agree to an extent, but it seems to me EVERY post of yours has a pun towards the LFS dev team.

Regards,

I am (tired of reading repeating posts).

** SPOILER **

1-2-3 for Peugeot

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/68251

Looks like its gonna be french domination this year. Most probably the Audis and hopefully the Pescis can make up for some tough competition.

People using iRacing will stop using other sims if iRacing is better than other sims.

Its really simple tbh, its called competition. If, for example, Scavier wants people to keep playing LFS, they should get up to iRacing's level.

Nice proof of concept with LINQ, I've been wanting to give it a go for some time now.

I'll try to test this when I have time - may be quite some time from now though.

Karl,

I still think this is a programmer forum (including all its subforums), and people at least should be looking for specific help on how to do this or that. Asking for "an insim to open the bank" sounds like a joke no matter if it shows in a proper search or not. Ask for a memory structure to hold user names and credit and I'll be the first to answer, but a "bank"??

I mean, look at the threads made by this Bremskiller18akaHeinz guy...do you honestly think thats the purpose of this section?

Take this as constructive criticism, I can appreciate the job of the mod team, specially here. Its just I find over the top asking for certain things.

I still dont get whats up with this constant pollution of the programmers forum with threads like "Bank", "Cop Sirens" and crap like that.

Really, this shouldnt be tolerated or this great subsection will end up being useless, just like the teams forum.

Quote from Scawen :That will be the main improvement in Y21.

It's already working in my version and producing good a frame rate increase when there are a lot of cars on the screen.

Fantastic news and another step towards falling parts

The thing is that even if some people can be succesful to some extent in making the change from VB6 to C++, what we are discussing here is if its the best thing to do.

Facts are that unmanaged memory and cryptic syntax (to name a few) arent the best things to deal with when coming from a permissive language like VB6.

Following my previous comparison, is it possible to race a F3000 coming from karts? Sure. Chances are you're gonna end up against a wall, though.

+1

I think I am going to go with C++ as it seem to be industry standardized and I can use my Programming teher;s website for the C++ course Im taking next year.

Thanks again
Bobby

Good luck jumping from a 4 stroke kart to a F3000 with no TC. Beware of unmanaged memory walls and tail-happy pointers.

You may want to reconsider .NET after the 3rd or 4th serious headache, specially considering you're coming from Vb6

For example Bob Dylan...

Spot on. Perfect example of artist that is all about lyrics.

With this I dont mean in any way that instrumentals arent good, and there you have, again, Sigur Ròs or Mogwai. IMO is a the combination of both what create superb listenings: Tool / Pearl Jam / NIN, etc

Well in fact I find it very logical when you know how .NET works, but thats not the point of the thread The guy asked what to learn next and IMO VB .NET is the best shot if you have no other programming experience.

Or the next logical step, which would be VB .NET

When you arrive with some friends at the Hostel in Stockholm at 2 AM and see a note in the front door 'You got mail'.

"OMG at this time all the internet cafes are closed what are we gonna do?"

Then we realized there was an envelope with the key in it in the open mail box...

So yeah we were all geeks in that trip LOL

To add to whats been said here, I'd like to point out that the weather up there is depressing. Coming from Spain, I lived for a year in Dublin, and I've made several trips to Scotland, England and northern Europe.

I have to say that long periods with such a bad weather can darken anyone's mind, just get some days off and go somewhere sunny, I bet you'll feel better.
