The thing is that although you think "letting things out of your system" makes you feel funny, most people simply thinks you're short of a prick because of the way you state things, even if you have a point.

You see, smileys dont change the bottom line.

PS "I gave him the chance to let the idea disappear" Sheesh LOL who the hell you think you are?

BTW, and for the record, Im also against the use of success ballast.

I meant changing the order of these lines so they end up like this:

qryGetPlayerConn.Parameters["@UserName"].Value = playerConn.Username;
qryGetPlayerConn.Parameters.Add("@UserName", MySqlDbType.String);

Im nowhere near a MySQL player, but try setting the value of the parameter before passing it to the query.

I agree, V8s is the most interesting touring car series right now, every round rocks!

Hope to be making it to Bathurst one day too

Must be a tough time for the true racing scene of LFS if teams like T7R need to advertise to get new members

Good luck!

I watched yesterday 'The dark hours' after seeing it recommended in this thread, and wow, someone owes me 1.5 hours of his life.

Crap!

EDIT: Also watched recently Planet Terror (very cool) and Death Proof: sucky, but having seen it with spanish voices may have had something to do with it, unless dialogues dont make much sense in the original version either.

I understand perfectly what you said, though you may have missed that whats character for you can be completely heartless for me.

Facts are that what makes Monaco have its aura and glamour its what happened there. Or are you telling me that you get turned on by a tunnel and a harbor? Monaco is special because it equals F1 history.

Saying that Indy has character (or whatever you want to call it) means we are on completely different channels then.

How the hell can you expect ANY track to have CHARACTER the first time its used?

TBH I think its gonna be about the same with the new rules, maybe cars can get a bit closer but that will be it...relying so much on downforce cant make up for exciting races.

F1 isnt about overtakings, its all about showing off technology and high speed. Like De La Rosa said, just like a goal can be deciding in football, an overtaking can determine the outcome of a race, unlike handball or bike racing which are a lot more eventful.

All these people wanting to get rid of the track are really amusing, if overtakings were the deciding factor to choose tracks, 90% of the ones we have now wouldnt be there...

Few facts:

- No roads were builts on purpose for the track, EXCEPT for the bridge, so the track IS a street circuit. IMO they could have gone past the Ciudad de las artes, which is an absolutely beautiful area and its not very far away.

- The surroundings of the track are the America's Cup headquarters and the beach (very cool), freighter docking areas and some undeveloped areas (awful).

- All drivers I've heard talking say they love the track. Could someone post links to negative comments? Im very curious about that.

- Track is much better for drivers than for spectators.

Like someone said, you just need to have the guts and act naturally...in the FIA GT race held here, we bought paddock passes and there was a small, openable fence, that separated the paddock from the boxes.

My friend and me walked through it and found ourselves right in the Team Italia box (the small part for VIPs). We were even shown on Eurosport when the car went into pits!

No one ever noticed we had no VIP card around or necks. Since we were there, we were supposed to be VIPS

Quote from Lateralus :is it any surprise that foreign F1 fans assume that a significant portion of the annual GP crowd are just bandwagoners when the attendance figures suddenly double in the span of just two or three years?

Not getting into doubling spans and %s since no one can (accurately), but of course your assumption is correct, saying the opposite doenst make any sense, since there are media sheeps everywhere. However, I have to say that Alonso has given an incredible boost to motorsports in general, not only F1. Since he is winning we have the best F1 TV coverage EVER, we have GP2 broadcasted and several formulas.

Im not an Alonso fan (the same way I dont hate Hamilton), but heck, you can bet I want him to be interesting for the media again

ANY country who has a champion gets interested in his sport. England & Fogarty, Australia with Doohan or the US with Rainey & Schwantz (the good times!!).

I dont know what % of people that goes to the tracks are alonso-sheeps (and I wouldnt say you can, either), but I can assure you there are enough motorsports fan that go to the racetrack many times per year and thats why we have seen WTCC, Superbikes, Lemans, FIA GT, Moto GP and Im sure Im forgetting some.

AFAIK Alonso doesnt run in any of those, yet FIA & FIM have Spain (and Valencia) highlighted in their calendars.

And believe me, I cant stand too much people that has discovered F1 with Alonso, but saying the whole country are Alonso sheeps is insulting when we have had multi-world champions in several motorsports for decades.

Maybe they werent "exploding" as you say but obviously financially viable otherwise they wouldnt have given us two venues.

Well you're spot on. Basically the local government is trying to boost the glamour of the city with things like La Ciudad de las artes y las Ciencias (which is REALLY cool) but its a money blackhole, The America's Cup (which nobody gave a sh1t about), the pope's visit and now the GP.

In few words, theyre spending HUGE amounts of money to promote the city, which is usually a good thing, but not in this case since there are loads of things to improve in the city that come before ships and single seaters.

Anyway, the bottom line is that we already have a really beautiful city without street circuits, so come and visit us!

Wasnt talking to you, but I will still reply: We have a second GP despite your objections because you're wrong in every one of your assumptions.

Any major motorsport in Spain is a guaranteed full and there are loads of motorsports fans regardless of what spot Alonso is on the grid.

You should really cut the amount of spam you post, Arox.

Back on topic, I think the GP is gonna suck big time, specially for the crowd. I was right there for the Open GT and F3000 races and even if its supposed to be wide enough to provide good action, there doesnt seem to be many overtakings, guess the concrete walls look too hard to hit.

You cant see much from any of the grandstands and unless its cloudy, the weather is gonna be a killer for the people - I know 99% of you wont care since you wont be there, but 40º+ degrees is really a problem without a shadow in sight.

I really hope it rains, theres gonna be pile ups and butt kisses anyway, but at least it will be more interesting, and right now its pretty dark outside, yay!

Summarizing, whoever wants the GP can take it from us, Im a huge fan of motorsports, just not done as poorly as this one and as a political side effect. Even more having a permanent race facility, ffs, they dont need to make a mess of the whole city for this.
