It was almost as if he was reassuring all his crew at the same time I'd imagine hehe , I saw him do it in a few programs I seen him on , I really liked that about him , he showed no fear , and had lightning quick reactions if it went wrong.

That was on land of course , in sea unfortunately it is a different ballgame , but I dont even think he would have panicked during it or such , he always seemed quite calm.

Plato semi-wiped out today at the first major race at Knockhill in the BTCC after getting too friendly with the inside kerb and gravel during a 3-abreast attempt at rounding the " real radio hairpin " lol.

After the second race , I dunno what when on , but Bob Collard and our friend fab. Giovanardi didnt exactly shake hands and congratulate each other after getting out their cars.

Well yeah I thought there would be a league that simulates the real-world Formula Renault / that is based on the real Formula Renault Championship , thats all , clearly there isnt really tho , and thats cool too.

I really just wanted to know why no-one had / if someone had thought about doing a league like this.

In the Sim Touring Car Cup you dont use the same skins as the real ones , so it would still be your own personal or team skins , it was really just the fact that no-one had used the name ( The Formula Renault Championship ) , when this is one of the few real-world small but powerful single seat championships.

I always thought most people liked to race in real-world championships , FIA has SIMFIA , Touring Car Cup has Sim Touring Car Cup ( thanks to Becky ) , and one or two others , I am sure there is a European league run by a german team or website , and an American league somewhere.

Just wondered if anyone had thought of having a league of the FRC.

Good early morning to the people ,

I just watched Motorsport U.K , and I did do a search and either found nothing relevant or am too tired to bother about being flamed but anyway ...

The Formula XR car in LFS is identical to ( or was it even the choosen car to be modelled on ? ) the Formula Renault Championships that are taking place at the moment.

The offical real-world website for this Championship will be included at the bottom of this post but I am sure most motorsport enthusiasts in the U.K will have heard of , watched , or even spectated this great event.

Basically approx 10 teams which equals roughly 30 drivers ( although all 30 NEVER , EVER turn up for all races , so each race always has less than 30 , as different people dont make it each time ( which will make it easier to fit on the grid in LFS ) ) all tour the country ( U.K ) , at racing circuits and its just like any other racing league that is open at the moment in LFS , only using the small single seater , the " Formula Renault " chassis ( which is really identical to the Formula XR in LFS ).

You get what I am meaning now , so I decided to type up and ask why there hasnt been much mention of this league in this forum ?

Obviously I know there is already a few leagues using the Formula XR but I thought someone would have enjoyed the idea of this one due to it being a real-world championship.

Anyway , please discuss if you want , and here is the website :

I did it through the website ( that sounds a little dodgy i think but i'll leave it in for now ).

welcome welcome ,

its Shift+U on your keyboard. move with the arrow keys , and the right click and hold button lets you change angle and veiw and such.

then you've got the other veiws and such at the bottom of the screen to jiggle around with.

It is a bit tricky sometimes to get specific angles , especially when the car is moving fast , but that picture , if you notice the wheels, it may not have been moving at all , and only edited to add speed and mist and such.

Also works in replays so its a little easier to know when to expect it

I agree with the general telepit during race , and agree with Chris above.

I think in league or event races , all racers vote to decide if shift+s is allowed or not during race ( this is if it became an option for the servers in LFS ). I think it would greatly improve realism , especially of FOX , FV8 and BF1 cars.

Although some people would think this really unfair if you go off 1 lap in thro no fault of your own ... but if you saw Indianapolis last weekend , and the Scott Speed incident and interview ... it happens real life too.

If you practice all week for a big race , do fine in Qualy , and then go off one lap into the big race through no fault of your own , theres no choice but to concentrate on next race. Of course this would be making it very realistic , which may not be for everyone , but I would enjoy this , and be able to handle it ( i think )

I suppose the above bit would only really work for a large-scale , well-driven league , event or tournament , one that lasts a full " season "

doesnt need to be the current mods tho , if the LFS community choose one or two long-time , respected racers ( who were willing to do it ).

Also I wouldnt mind a post being ... posted ... as long , if it was agreed that it wasnt needed , it could be cleaned up again quickly , in order to keep the topic like a technical log ... each post having a point to say , or a solution ... nothing else in the topic.

Thanks to the people who are being blue flagged , and once passed by the faster car .... STAY there. It only makes sense , but I was surprised racing my first time online in the FXR , how many racers get lapped ... BUT THEN CONTINUE to race against the lapper right around the corners , as if they are going to lose a position if they dont.

Thanks to all ( including / especially the devs ) , i've had real enjoyable racing of late , LFS seems to be on the way up

Yes sounds very interesting ,

I am the last person who would compete with such little experience and knowledge to be honest , but it definately sounds great and interesting for LFS , and you can count on me watching this closely ( or perhaps even getting there ! to watch , but i doubt it ).

Although Air Racing , such as the Red Bull event is regarded as a " motorsport " , due to the powerfulness ( is that a word ? ) of the engines in the small aerobatic planes , so perhaps we're already on our way to " flying cars "

Its weird , the law says i am too young to drive a car on a road , and yet i have been flying a light aeroplane around central Scotland ( Glasgow / Edinburgh , around the BUSY airspace ) since Febuary !
