You pay entry fee every time you Join from Pit Or Spectate, So if I get Wrecked, Kicked (usually the 90 minute Rule when i cannot get to the next split marker), need to change set or fuel, joining initially all these plus there may be a few others result in the payment of Entry Fee.
With it now costing 25 pts the Odds are very much against me and certain Conmbos are a no go area mainly Pit of Despair, The LX4 Track with the one Ramp, Tudor Rose and Even Champaigne have become Licence Killers.
I am now getting with Full Server 22 pts for a win Possible 25 with fastest lap, but the main problem is going to be when less than 10 cars start as I am then only gaining around 16 pts for the win and alot less if I do not win.
Knowing Becky and her sense of humour I recon the Gold licence is probably set to around the 20,000 pt mark.
I can hear her Evil Cackling laugh from here just can't pin it down, could be coming from the east or west
I Did get to 12410 pts but racing for 20 minutes last night - I joined Track Figuratively to have it end on next restart -25 pts "DOH", next track Tudor Rose entered twice both times wrecked within 2 laps -50 pts left with Samh and Jakg and went to SS1 so I'm now -75 pts on 12335 pts at this rate I will receive a letter off the Queen before I get to Gold Roll on my 100th Birthday
Becky you may need a tweek the system as some tracks like Tudor Rose and the pit are now a no go as far as points are concerned.
It's horses for courses, I myself was racing with StableX as we joined the server just after SamH, There are benefits to having the higher licence holders racing as it allows the new racers to SS1 to ask for a decent set, also the first 2 or 3 races I was on the steep learning curve of getting upto speed for the Combo FE Gold Rev (Sorry SamH about that Tap )
Once upto speed after following the faster drivers I did infact get two 3rds and a fourth and got my PB down to a 1:16xx
My point is that due to having these drivers on track I was able to gauge the pace and start laying down competitive lap times within half an hour and ended the night quite happy with my progress gaining 20 odd points for the night.
I am sure if these higher licence racers had moved on to SS2 my pace would have been slower overall, I may have not been able to acquire a good set and I would have learnt far less than I did on the night so cheers lads it's a pleasure to race with you.
Sometimes it's not just about the points but learning from faster drivers can be more beneficial in the long term.
Thats cool 6 Licences and if one gets banned I can still race
Just looked at it now and if you look at my Tudor Rose LR when you click my name the Licence it links to is Iceman31x, does this mean I'm Platinum as well now (This occurs with numerous racers not just myself)
Sorry Iceman31X you have been Assimilated into the order of [HR]
I'm wondering if Iceman31x equalled my record and the system has glitched and mixed up the info giving this result.
But to tell you the truth it may be part of Team [HR] Master Plan and their now cloning me
Just an enquiry on the points system on B and J, now I'm Silver Roofed the points seem to be a little extreme to say the least (Becky your Evil).
On a full server with a win I can pick up around 25pts but on a half full server this can drop to about 16pts for a win.
The problem being entry fee has gone up from 10pts (on Red Roof) to an extortionate 25pts for a Silver Roofed Racer which means on some tracks the ones with Crossovers etc I can actually lose points very quickly if luck is not with me (Russian Roulette with cars anyone ?)
There was a time last night that I failed to finish 4 races on the trot losing me 100pts which I then had to claw back over the next 10 or so races just to end the night even.
PS. Is it possible to drop back to Red Roof Grade ?
This is just my first impression on this but it seems it may be a very slow process to GOLD.
Fastest Laps are tracked on the B and J also it is only the fastest lap for the race, short 3 or 4 lap races are great for your Licence stats.
SamH there seems to be a problem with the Licence lap record count as I do have 4 but my licence and web page show 3, also on the LR stats pages it has me down in the total LR column as either having 1 or 3 LR total
Nothing seems to add up with it at present needs a little fettling I think
I'm sorry too Gentle, with the kids on summer hols I just have not been able to make the last couple of races, so hopefully I may be back in september entries allowing.
and any official statement will be total BS anyway just to save face if nothing else, also after the court case Ferrari will be very quick to take advantage of any situation, not that they need excuses as it's normal scenario anyway.
Alonso was Miffed as the team held him for 10 - 15 sec in the previous pit stop but it was obvious the team were just holding him so they could release him into space ontrack.
What he did on his last pitstop was blatent cheating, from Hamilton's point of view I see it as a good example that Alonso cannot run at the pace of Hamilton and it goes to show just how much pressure Alonso is under to resort to such underhanded tactics.
I would LMAO if the FIA put Alonso back 10 places for baulking a fellow competitor, as I'm sure Ferrari may report it and the FIA will have to then look into it....... I do not know the rules but there may be a case to answer if blocking also cover's the pit lane also, and if the rules state a fellow competitor that would have to include your team mate also would it not
Anyway time will only tell but I would not be surprised if Ferrari reported it in an attempt to level the playing field with Massa starting from 14th
NP Locovich it's just I would rather be racing on LFS than waiting on a download to happen as it's just too much hassle when we all know that you could have just attached it
use the link in my post above as the Screenshots (post 7) then show the 16 car grid layout and to get the pole car spot just start a race and then use picture to work out grid positions from there.
You cannot arrange the grid yourself which is a shame, you have to use the format shown in the picture.
I would run Fox as now but switch tracks to the large wide variety rather than the thin narrow ones that are included now, this would mean the cars would have a good spread after 2 or 3 laps and if the races were set to say 5 laps or so then there should be no problem with backmarkers.
My train of thought as well Beano Gold and up would be good.
The problem with the SS is that to achieve the downforce required you have to run at a pace the set up dictates IE wing settings, one thing I learned quickly running the Fox within the Gentlefoot series was to up the wings to achieve the grip at the pace I was able to run and then to gradually reduce the wing settings once I was running consistant laps and this way gradually work my way down to running within a second or so of WR pace with a race setup.
It's no good Inexperienced drivers asking for a set as they will not be up to speed for that set up and will end up spinning on most corners unless they add four or five clicks of downforce.
