Me too same problem does not happen every time though

The Devs wiil possibly work out a price that will give them the optimum profit which IMO would be around the £24 mark for the current full version.

This is cheap for Europe, the right price for the US and other world countries mabe viewed as slightly expensive and even at this price possibly to expensive for some.

I cannot see the Devs charging for S2 content when S3 eventually comes out but I can see the Devs Reorganising it to £12 for S1 and Another £12 to upgrade to S3 (Full Version) keeping the Price structure very close to what we have today but the eventual figures will be dependant on what is included in S3.

And as I say this Sony drop the Price of the PS3 By $100 to £250 ($499) in the US but still charge Europe £425 Madness

I voted yes to keep it simply because it's an option

The server providers may wish to use it which I have no problem with, whether the servers using this option become popular is to be proved but IMO probably not.

Personally I use the wheel view now, but when I first brought S2 I used cockpit view all the time, then I read that wheel view gives you more FPS and as I only had Onboard graphics at the time I found this very helpfull and have now got used to wheel view.

Now the problem seems to be that Scawen has forced this view in the LX competition which has undoubtedly alienated a big percentage of the community as any LFS'er that does not use cockpit view as their first choice has to relearn how to drive again from the new perspective which takes time and practice.

I found even though I used to race all the time in cockpit view as recently as 3 months ago switching back from wheel view to cockpit view has been virtually impossible and having a family with a job to hold down I just don't have the time to relearn driving from a new perspective and try to compete with the times that are being posted (Kudos to you all - Bloody Aliens )

Now don't get me wrong in no way am I bitter or even upset at this but if you normally play LFS from cockpit view then your lucky as you have a massive advantage over those that do not use this view.

I just hope Scawen thinks a little more in the future as it looks like he has pissed off quite a large chunk of the community by implementing this view into the LX competition.

From my experience racing in LFS it does not matter what view or input device or pc setup you have as with practice any combination can compete with the other and that's one of the great things about LFS.

So I am going to concentrate on winning races while all you Aliens are preoccupied for the next 3 weeks

Yes it is Practice, Practice and more Practice and with the Number of laps you say your laying down you certainly have the dedication.

If your driving the fox jump on the GFC (Gentlefoot) server as FE Gold is a relatively easy track with enough technicalities to enable you to learn and I sure you will recieve the help and Setups you require as some of the racers are very fast and experienced within this championship.

Your lap times will come down depending on setup and your driving style, so it's trial and error and over time and watching and learning from others you will I'm sure get your lap times down and become more consistant.

As you know Dru I run the fox in the GFC and the last couple of nights I have given the FO8 a try out for fun on FE gold while the lads have been running Qualifying sessions and as I run probably the same sort of times as you (now down to mid to low 1:07's0 where as Huppis is getting now high 1:05's.

One trick I use as I am just learning the car is I run some high speed corners 1 gear higher as it makes it that little bit easier to hold the car on the limit without spinning out.

Cheers Guys I'll have a play again tonight with the settings, what i'm looking for is a steady 50 fps with clear non flickering graphics, with a start point of 75 - 80 fps I should get this I think with some aa/af turned on but I'm very happy anyway as it's a big improvement to what I did have

I find with aa/af turned on to 4X each my frame rate drops to 35 - 40 fps and with aa/af turned off FPS go up to 80 - 85 and I cannot discern any change in the visuals.

I have an Intel 6200 due to me having a basic Dell with PCI slots (Not PCI-E)
Before this I had to turn off all In house LFS Graphics Options and run at Low screen Res Which I set to how busy the server was and with integrated graphics used to get about 40 FPS

Now with the 6200 I can turn on almost every Graphic option in LFS and get a steady 70 FPS with aa/af turned off, come to think of it aa mabe set to application run which I think means LFS chooses or sets the best setting.

Anyway when I set aa/af to X4 I could see no real difference in the graphics only difference was my FPS halved.

Could be though my version has been corrupted but it only happens on track change.

Ok this occurred on Track change Last Night after SO City, Last thing I hit was Letter "T" For chat during track change screen and I got LFS crash with the Black screen, but this time was different as I could not Restart or Shutdown or Logoff my computer ( I had To Carry out A Hard Shutdown). After restarting I could enter other servers but not the CTRX Beta Server I Got Crashed Out From as LFS kept crashing With This Error :-



I Will Try to connect again Tonight, UKCT seem to think this is an LFS Error, I could access any other server after reconnecting even other UKCT Servers but not the CTRA-X Beta Test Server.

Just a little analogy from me :

You may not like the above statement and it is not meant in a nasty way only factual.

Infact the cruisers and Drifters are receiving a game within a game but as everyone knows the Devs aim with this project is to produce the best racing sim on the net bar none and slowly but surely I believe that dream gets nearer day by day.

It's just that the difference from practice offline to the online experience is a big difference as from lap 2 online I purposefully shredded the tyres.

Still the link does not explain why the tyres last longer online.

If someone could develop a Longer Wider track with 4 or 5 shorter Configs would be great as I believe since the release of patch X now with 32 on track LFS is crying out for suitable tracks as 70% of tracks are too short or narrow in design to accomodate such large packs.

Be honest here lads Hamilton made the rest of the field look like NOOBS the only cool head in the field.

And to use the argument of Oh but there was 4 SC periods (sorry thats just weak) he can only race in the situation he finds himself in - the other drivers around him were losing concentration that much it looked like a Noob Fest

That was one solid performance showing maturity beyond his years - so I suppose yeah he did actually learn from GP2
