Dear World TBO Championship Series competitor,

Thank you for your interest in this series. We hope that the lack of interest in the 2013 season has not turned you away from this otherwise great series, but if it has we most certainly understand. We will be instituting the following changes following the conclusion of the 3rd Annual Blackwood 200:

• Rounds which start with 20 or more drivers will remain at about 90 minutes in duration.
  
• Rounds which start with less than 20 drivers will be reduced in duration to about 60 minutes.
  
• Rounds which start with less than 15 drivers will be reduced in duration to about 45 minutes.
  
• Rounds which start with less than 10 drivers will be reduced in duration to about 30 minutes.
  
• Rounds which start with less than 5 drivers will be reduced in duration to about 15 minutes.
  
• Rounds with 3 or less competitors will be canceled. (yes, poor Rony did the "Shootout race" of round #3 of the Rallycross Shootout Series on his own before it was canceled )
  

This is the last thing that I want to do to Worldwide Racing's most prestegious and longest running series, but in the end we are left with two options. At this time I feel as though this is the best course of action. Our other option is the terminate the series. This is the last thing that we want to do to a three year Live For Speed tradition.

Thank you to those of you who were present today . As I stated following the race, if a race is as severly under attended as it was today I will reduce the duration of the race. I will be posting a thread addressing this shortly.

Those of you who were there were well behaved and we in race control had nothing to complain about. Thank you for sticking with us and completing the event.

Many say that it cannot be done. I think that the tallent level in Live For Speed today will allow it to be a mainly green flag racing affair.

~16:35 GMT - 2 pace laps
~16:40 GMT - 108 lap race takes the green flag
~17:40 GMT - Race Complete (57 minutes WITHOUT yellow flags)

General Rules
Drivers' in game names will be their entry number in white followed by a space and the driver's first initial followed by a period and then their full last name. Driver's initial and last name may be in any combination of colors. For example, my in game name would be as follows: 00 C.Corns (with the "00" in white)

Skins
Skins must be appropriate for those ages "13" and up and they may not display a number other than your entry number.

Registration
All competitors must fill out a registration on this thread more than a half an hour before the start of qualifying. No exceptions!

Qualifying Rules
Competitors will follow race control's instructions to exit the garage AND to begin their qualifying run. Competitors will exit pit lane, and at the start/finish line their first timed lap will begin. Once a competitor begins their first timed lap they will not be allowed another attempt at qualifying.

After finishing their second and final timed lap they must run the entire distance of the track and enter pit road in a timely manner. A driver may return to pit lane at any time during their run, but they will not be awarded with more laps in doing so.

The quickest of each competitor's two timed laps will be their time of record.

Race Rules

Race Start / Restarts
The session will begin with 1 pace lap behind the safety car single file followed by 1 double file (odd positions on the left side / inside). Safety car speed will be 240 km/h (150MPH). The pole sitter will begin accelerating in the restart area prior to the start/finish line marked by chalk lines and cones (video). There is no passing prior to the start/finish line on the start of the race!

Restarts will be the same as the race start but will be single file rather than double file. Drivers are not permitted to leave a large gap in attempt to make a pass just after crossing the start/finish line. When drivers are in pit lane the safety car speed will be reduced to allow drivers to pit under yellow without losing a lap.

Pitlane
Pitlane speed limit will be 80km/h or 50MPH. Drivers must pass below the committment cone just before the pit wall on exit of turn 3. Drivers may return to the racing surface after passing below the blend cone at the exit of turn 1. Those who speed entering pitlane, but average less than pit road speed from pit entry to the red timing line will have their drive-through penalty removed. Speeding elsewhere in pit lane will always result in a penatly as assigned by Live for Speed.

Drivers must remain to the outside of the yellow markings down pit lane except when pulling into or out of their pit stall.

The right side tires this weekend will feature a new technique in the tire construction. The inside (left) third of the tire will be a very hard compound (the same as used at Michigain) and the outside will be the same soft compound used at Atlanta in years past.

I'm curious what it will do to the racing this Saturday (Nationwide) and Sunday (Sprint Cup) nights.

The 2014 Realistic NASCAR Cup Series will go forward as last year so long as interest is high enough to bring at least 9 or more competitors to attempt each round.

In this second season the focus will be moved away from wide open drafting events and towards the traditional style of oval racing which will require competitors to use their skills lap after lap and not over heat their tires.

I'm not sure how many rounds we will have this year. I typically aim for 6, but anywhere from 4 to 7 is possible

We WILL run the following events
2014 Kyoto 400 (216 laps with FZR at KY1)

The following events are suggested (feel free to suggest more)
300 laps with MRT at F24 (Fern Bay Oval, no intermission period required)
108 laps with FZ5 at KY1 (Horsepower 200)
200 laps with XRT at F24 (Fern Bay Oval, intermission at lap 100 for tires)
95 laps with LX6 at KY1 (Roadster 175)
108 laps with RAC at KY1
200 laps with XRG at Aston Raceway (AS7X layout download)
135 laps with FO8 (IndyCar 250 4th Annual if it happens)

Larson in the 42 next year, if true, will be rather interesting. He's got a lot of tallent, but I don't really think it's quite enough to jump to Sprint Cup that quickly. We'll see though some time if not in 2014.

Also, there's reports that ESPN and Turner (TNT) want out of the contract for 2014 to avoid a "lame duck season". It would be complicated and very difficult to pull off, but if the networks are interested then it actually is possible.

The race Saturday night was really good Kasey raced clean, but probably lost the race doing so. Kenseth 3, Kahne 0 this year in race ending battles

Friday night's race was a sad domination by the 54 car. Least exciting NASCAR race I've been to in person, but still not bad
