And, if the attendance there is the same as last year you'll be able to move to the higher rows from that seat anyways (Unless they have more security at that track than at the ones I've been at)
Jack, the only problem would be that if they added spoiler and take away the plate side to reinstate the speed they draft will still be stronger and the pack would still travel at much greater speeds.
If the spoiler is made bigger qualifying times will have to drop. Unless they take away the plates for qualifying only
If anybody has any thoughs or suggestions about the news articles that I've been writing please elt me know. Good comments and bad comments are welcome
Road License requirements have been removed for this Sunday's Fern Bay 150 due to the lack of practice sessions. This means that drivers will be able to obtain a license in the race on Sunday which will allow them to participate in the Roadster 175 and Horsepower 200 (round 5 and 6). Participation of course will not automatically grant a driver a license.
Hope that this doesn't become an issue. Registrations will remain open through Saturday UTC time.

Last Lap Motorsports won the Daytona 500 portion of our NASCAR Fantasy League . I came in 4th (out of 43 teams )
I've been trying to find some information on the wicker, but I really can't find any? Do you have any good reading on it PMD? All I ever manage to find is that Dale Earhardt didn't like it (which tells me nothing).
Pretty boring race until the 20 lap to go mark. One way or another the inside lane needs to be given some kind of speed. That's probably going to mean that the rear spoiler needs to be made longer or a small bit higher. Everything else aside though, my statements following the Duels stand. Thank goodness that RACING is back at the plate tracks. Track position matters now and the best teams and drivers have an advantage once again
Now to the better race tracks Phoenix and Vegas should give us a really good idea of how this new car will race
The showers that were forcasted for today's race are missing the track currently by about 15 miles to the south. Race start time is at 1:30 PM local time (18:30 GMT).
5% chance of rain at race start according to weather.com and 0% through 3pm when it goes to 10%. 25% at 4pm and 50% at 5PM (the race should be over by that time however).
With Kentucky being the newest track in the Sprint Cup Series, it probably is the best as far as spectator safety thanks to the height given to the front row. This means that there are more good seats as well. This really isn't an option for the older tracks though unless they cut away and re-do the entire front grandstands below the top deck.
Fans in the Sprint Tower were also injured though, so it may not have mattered. Plexiglass would be the best solution in my opinion, but not even that will fix everything. So long as the cars travel at a high speed, there will be danger to those who are close to it. It wouldn't be as exciting if it wasn't so. Those fans in the front row would be missing out on the wind and the noise from the cars as well, which is 25% of the experiance unless they find something which doesn't reduce that.
So you're saying that people will die of bordom if the pack is spread out? You're saying the people die of bordom watching every race other than Daytona and Talladega? There's no pack there . I personally am very excited that in the Sprint Cup the pack has been spread out.
I now think that it is safe to say that everybody survived the crash today. ESPN is now reporting that there were only 2 fans placed in critical condition and both of them have been moved to stable condition at this time.
Thank god that type of tandem racing is now completely gone from the Sprint Cup Series. It's been the cause of the two worst wrecks in NASCAR since it was started. It's asks for blocking.
I was glad that nobody celebrated that victory, and I'm glad that that hadn't happened tomorrow in the 500 with a full grandstand.
Hopefully we won't see that again tomorrow. It appeared as though Larson's front end struck a gate in the fencing. I hope that I am correct and that nobody has been hurt.
I'm speaking of Florida other than the panhandle . Compaired to where I live the cost of living is very high (but here it is likely below average in the first place).
I hope the rain stays away for you guys Sunday Scrabby . How was the truck race last night? (I didn't think it was very good myself on TV, but in person it's always different )
Well, you always have to take the assumption that there might be driver who are hurt in an accident, especially at a track like Daytona. The fact that the crash was right after the start/finish line ment that rescue crews would have to wait for over a minute after the impact to get there. That's unacceptable in any situation.
If this happenes on the back stretch or turn 3/4 I would be up in arms about the caution as well. It did ruin the race after all
In other news: weather forcast for Sunday calls for 50% chance of storms. Why was the 500 moved back a week again? (last Sunday was bright and Sunny)
Oh, and I made our fantasy league public this morning.. It's full now . Don't forget to set your line-up!
Round 3 - Fern Bay 50 - 50 laps at F24 - XRT (24% Res) - February 24, 2013 - 14:00 GMT - Layout
Round #3 of the 2013 Realistic NASCAR Open Series will be ran on February 24, 2013 starting at 14:00 GMT with qualifying (20 min.) These will be open track sessions unlike in the Cup Series so drafting will be permitted in qualifying.
The race will begin with a single (uncounted) pace lap at 14:30 GMT. This race is expected to last around 15 min. There will not be flags in this event, so be careful at all times . See links below before racing if you have not already done so.
I must say that RACING is back at Daytona. The crap called racing previously (for lack of anything else to call it) is gone. Yeah, single field for a while, that's fine. It's the fastest way to go. It's a vast improvement from the Generation 5 race car.
Now all that's left is for the leader to actually be challneged in any lap. There's not been much so far sadly, but that will change once the Daytona 500 white flag is dropped
The 2nd fastest Daytona 500 duel qualifying race ever was the second race today. Caution free with an average speed of 194MPH
Scary crash for the Modified with the fire and all being upside down. Glad that he was okay.
In general I find that I like the Southern United States much more than the Northern as far as hospitality. On the other hand, you're more likely to find somebody from the south who is extremely closed minded. I find this rather aggravating myself
Florida however (on the peninsula anyways) requires a good amount of money to live on. This makes it a nicer place to visit . The people in Daytona while I was on vacation there were really nice. I expect that you are experiencing the same?
Watching the Modified race? I am. I missed the race last night, but the move on the last lap was pretty dirty. Crossed a line for me, because he turned into him again on corner exit. That's what turned me off. Otherwise a great race
I like the new marketing direction that NASCAR is taking . Look at this new commercial for airing in the Daytona 500
