Ye, you're right. But I don't have time realizing that on track. :P
I'll probably make another one soon, that's a bit more realistic. Still, this is spectacular, right? :P
It was actually, but it doesn't really work. Especially when you know you're the only car on the track.
It's not really special, but I thought it would be worth sharing. The WR lap on Aston Historic.
The idea is a camera in the helmet (bit like Alonso had once). The camera movement may be a little exaggerated tho. The sound has been editted a bit afterwards to sound cooler. Well, here it is:
That was supposed to be some wear. (like this inside wheel http://www.quaife.co.uk/assets/ADSC_318595939.JPG).
But it's not very accurately done, and I need to look at it. If I want to use it at all.
I had Mission speakers for some time, probably not the best, but I didn't really like them. Could have had something to do with the acoustics of my room tho.
My father's got Dali (which is NAD I believe?) speakers and they sound so amazing. Really good stuff indeed. Together with this http://www.project-audio.com/bild.php?xperience.jpg piece of art it's just so amazing to listen to good music..!
Hmm, ye. But the thing is, I have to make a compromise between a rolling tyre and one standing still. I tried to make something in between. However, I tried to make a version that looks a bit used. Maybe that's better?
Is it possible to check if a players setup is the same as a given setup? A bit like in CTRA, with the weight, but then for all settings. A fixed setup, yes.
And that, if the players setup is not the same, he gets spectated and is given a message with the link to the setupfile?
Yea! And yesterday I found out it's also possible to race with it (read: have good fights)!
I'll upload some replays later.. What an adrenaline rush.
I mostly love the multiplayer and and the feeling you have when driving. And the FO8 ofcourse.
I never played a sim/game this long. Not even with GP3 or 4!
Is it possible to add some money to my account with iDeal? I want to try high-res skins, and I don't have a credit card myself. I can't find it in the "My LFSW Credit" page on LFSWorld.
Thanks! After a lot of trying it finally works. I can now set a whole calendar for the next season if I want to. Thanks!
Only 1 thing tho. I deleted all irrelevant stuff from the LFSLapper.cfg file. But when I start LFSLapper now, it says: "Parameter PB on AutoAction contact admin Server" in LFS behind the host his name.
I probably deleted 1 wrong line, but is there a way to get rid of this?
Since I am planning on another league, I was wondering if anyone is interested in making a small InSim application for me.
I want to make sure that the practise, qualifying and race sessions start at exactly the right times. The best thing to do this is to make it automated. I figured out it takes 4 seconds from pressing shift+R to the screen going black and the session starting. How long it takes from the black screen to the actual sessions depends on the latency, but let's ignore this for now.
Therefore the application has to "press" shift+R at 19:59:56, when the race starts at 20:00 (and shift+Q for qualifying).
Since there is a clock in LFS already, the program doesn't need to show that. But, it would be very helpful if it would show for example a "5 minutes before race starts" message, and maybe a few more.
The only thing I don't know how to realise is how to automaticly go from a practise session to a qualifying session, but I think there are commands for that? Or maybe it would be possible to get it to the entry screen first, and then automaticly set the right qualifying time and race laps.
I would really appreciate it if someone wants to help! Thanks in advance.
Yes, interesting point. I saw a documentary about the safety of modern F1 cars. And they showed how the vertical load was very strong, but from the side it's so easy to break the suspension, for safety reasons.
LFS really misses this yes. But I also noticed that if you make a hard turn to the right, when you arrive at the bottom of the chicane (where the car is the heaviest, since it basicly drops on the ground) the suspension gets damaged from the side, causing the camber to go positive. Very annoying. :P
Making it low and soft enough would do most of the trick (although it's not possible to get no damage at all), but the difficult thing is not to make it bottom out in other turns.
I tried the FO8 btw, and it seems to be fine through there indeed. Not a surprise if you see the enormous speed of the BF1. It's crazy! On a track like Aston GP, 20 seconds ! difference. Blackwood, such a short track, almost 8 seconds difference. Crazy.
I always used the setupfield to find some fast sets. But one day it was possible for everybody to upload a set. Now there are a lot of sets that are fake or don't have a name or time. So I stopped uploading my own sets there aswell.
Hehe. It's alright Scip, it's alriiiight. I thought it was funny, because it used to be Biggies, then Leprekauns, then mine, then yours and then Pearcy's.
Ok, thanks. I've tried this. And the rear suspension was gone in lap 10... With full speed laps.
I set the ride height to the absolute maximum, the stiffness to prevent bottoming and the compression dampers to the absolute minimum. First I tried with soft rebound dampers, then optimal rebound dampers. Also pretty soft dampers, like the original set has..
It all doesn't work. Even without the chicane it still gets damage on other parts of the track. It's not much, but it tells me that, whatever I do, it doesn't help.
The tyres are the softest I can get it too.
EDIT:
Hmm. I just did a qualifying lap. It was my fastest last sector so far, 260 kph through the chicane. And yet, not very much damage. I'm gonna figure out what causes so little damage in the qual set.. Pfff. Could have been because I was on less fuel tho..
EDIT2:
Well, it seems to work. Even with high fuel. It looks like the car bottoms out before the suspension can get damaged much. It still gets damaged, but not even half as much. The downside is that it also bottoms out in some of the fast turns, making it slow down and understeery. But maybe in combination with taking it easy on the chicane, or less downforce after all, it might work for a full race.
Just this afternoon, Scip came to me for a setup for Aston National/BF1. But maybe it's not the same set. I don't really care, but I thought it was funny.
