Quote from BlueFlame :Why do people think CO2 is waste gas?
Humans need CO2 to survive.

We need O2. CO2 is what comes out of us. And plants convert CO2 to O2...

Quote from deggis :

Also tracks lack so called technical sections. Generally everything is just so "smooth" and WIIIIIDE. Aston should be renamed to Airfield. I'd like to have more sweeping kind of U hairpins like this one in FE but much tighther.

About Spa... some people will probably have a heartattack when they'll see it first time since 2005 in the F1 race. You know there has been some reconstruction, Bus Stop is completely redesigned (and moved), lame-ass tarmac run-off areas everywhere and some fans say La Source is partly ruined. Fortunately the track profile is still pretty much the same, so it's remains easily to be one of the best tracks in the world.

^ new bus stop comes in ~2:40. I somehow doubt that's good place for F1 cars (with the 100 m downforce safety area limit) to pass...?

What the... huh, the Bus Stop isn't a busstop anymore... Pretty weird. But the first corner of that chicane looks like it's slow..

And the curbs on La Source weren't needed.
Those runoff areas just make it safe. Altough I never was a fan of it. That's why I don't like the new tracks, like Bahrein, China, Turkey..

Quote from Becky Rose :The worlds greatest races: Le Mans; Monaco; Baathurst; Indianapolis. Well Le Mans and Baaturst are too long for regular online play and would be as much use as the long Aston configs. Monaco would have too many arguments over who crashed who as LFS'rs are a little more impetuous when it comes to overtaking, and Indi is an oval.

Spa Francorschamps..

Yea, the originals are twice as big as you see when you click on it..
But.. Thanks!

EDIT:
Here you go:

Beware: They're big!
And they're not very sharp, that's why I resized them in the first place.

EDIT2:
I'll upload a few more to that space.

Today I had an idea.. What if... The AI could learn from the player? If it could take over the braking points, lines.. stuff like that. And of course compensate a bit by letting it make small errors, just like a real human. This would make the AI challenging for everyone!

Just a thought..

I had that this week. ATC Quicksilver tried to distract me. But instead I came into some kind of flow, I started typing, and was still doing 1:00.5x (Aston Club / FOX).

Sometimes I have it, when I have it I'm usually one or two tenths slower then on my max. When I'm on my max, I sometimes hold my breath for a corner, or corner combination. I don't do that very contiously.. This sometimes brings me into a state where I can do faster then I think I could have done. Or hold a pace I didn't believe was possible. How consistant and fast it was. Pretty cool stuff.

Quote from BruTaLysT :The Apex is the slowest point in a turn, the moment where you stop to lift/brake and hit the throttle again.

That's not always true I think. The apex is the point where you hit the inside in a turn. That doesn't necessarily mean it's the slowest points. In hairpins you're usually already on the throttle when you hit the apex.

Quote from BlueFlame :As much as i want to agree with you, i just can't, yes, if the FOX was a Forumla Ford type car, i could accept it, but its not is it, its a Forumla Renault of sort, and i just can't accept that Formula Renaults handle this way.

Uhm.. I've heard people complain it has too much grip..

But I think the grip is fine. The FOX has got HUGE grip. I haven't spun that thing for a long time.. Maybe the "lack" of grip isn't so much in the FOX, but more in the driver?

Dear Victor,

Together with Josh Di Fabio, I am organising the "Formula V8 Racing Series".
The website is up and running, and the Sign-up is open.

http://fv8.cyxian.nl
So far 6 people registered, after a day.

I've been talking to some experienced league organisers. I have good trust in it.

Would it be possible to have a section under the Leagues & Events section called "Formula V8 Racing Series"?

Thanks in advance,
Darkone

The Formula V8 Racing Series announces a Test Race!

Hello!

Let's introduce myself and my league first.

I'm Darkone, real name Bas Bouma, and I am going to host a new FO8 league. Some may know me from the forums or online racing.

The Formula V8 Racing Series will start August 9 with a Test Race. Two weeks after that Race 1 of the league starts, at August 23.
The Test Race will take place at Aston North, a great circuit to race on. Especially in the FO8. There will be 30 experienced drivers racing eachother. When 30 drivers have signed up, there will be a qualifying. I'm not telling the circuit yet, that might be unfair. More information about this will be given later.

The qualifying of the race itself will be 20 minutes long. After these 20 minutes, the drivers who are still on their flying lap may still finish their flying lap. Every race of the season will finish the first lap over 180 km. In the case of Aston North this will be 182,0 km, with a total of 35 laps.

For more info check out our website:
http://fv8.cyxian.nl/

The sign-up is now open at our site!

Please read it carefully.

Thanks to the help of F1RST Racing and spdoRacing, with Josh Di Fabio we can make this happen.

I hope to see you on track the 9th of August. Good luck!

Quote from Bawbag :Lep, go race Modoff, he has less mileage than you, yet he will still beat you.

Another one is Chriskart, he has roughly the same mileage as you and IMO is one of the fastest drivers around ATM.

EDIT : Josh, I don't play that much nowadays anyway, i'm only competing in one league and that is the OLFS which doesn't have much left anyway, so if Lep wants me to proove that even with the same mileage it will never happen then he better get driving.

Totally agree. Chriskart is a great driver now!

I think someone needs talent. You know, everybody needs practise. The more practise the faster you get. But, there is one difference. The real talented guys have that bit of extra. What's Jakg talks a lot about, that half a second.

I can't say I have that extra talent I'm affraid. I've just got a lot of miles. Of course, I only drive the fastest cars in LFS, but still. In the beginning of S2, the Blackwood demo, I couldn't even get under 1:40 with the GTi.

By the way, you, Bawbag, Modoff and Leprekaun can prove yourselves in that FO8 league I'm starting. http://fv8.cyxian.nl I'll start a topic about it soon.

Quote from Iron :Well, after I watched it first, I thought it's driver B's fault. But watching it again a few times from the helicopter view, I don't know. As Tristan said, you have to have an overlap at the turn in point, not at the braking point. It seems to me that C started to turn way too early.

Yea, I agree, he had to know that B was there, but you can't see he did by the line he drives. But, C also takes a very weird line, turns in way too early, makes it too tight for himself. I think they were both wrong in a way. But I voted B.

Nice movie. I think it might have been cool if you used a more onboard camera-ish cam, and without the movement. It's a bit bright too. But,very nice after all.
