It seems to be a fairly common problem with games having trouble with very low speed/stationary physics. Look at how much iRacing cars rattled and wobbled when sitting in the pits, and it's the same in AC. As long as everything feels fine once you're moving it's a non issue.
It drives much better than anything they've had before, it just doesn't drive as good as AC in my opinion. It's also missing a ton of stuff, including flat spots, real wear etc.
I agree and it's a damn shame, I love Proto/GT and the HPD more than anything, but nobody in their right mind will drive the C6R or the FGT anymore, and the HPD won't get the semi-decent tyres for another 5 months or so, it probably won't recover until grand-am and P/GT are thrown into the same series.
I like how dawesdust doesn't spend his full life posting in this topic anymore, instead he just looks for every youtube video posted and posts pathetic snide comments on every one of them. You go Dustin, take it to the man with passive aggressiveness, that'll show 'em! Or you could ****ing get over it and stop being a child, but obviously that's impossible.
Brands is far and away my favourite track but it hardly ever gets used, and when it does get used it's hardly driven. Probably because it's old school, narrow and difficult with no run-off, but that's what I love. It's fantastic this week in the Porsche.
I'm always one for defending iRacing usually, but the MP4 at the moment is a piece of shit, and before it wasn't any better. It's meant to be racing the RUF but it's not even close,if you slightly look at a kerb the wrong way it spins, unless you run jacked up tyre pressures and other setup tricks that make it feel garbage. AC have the nose ahead for at least the MP4, definitely.
Please don't get Intrepid started on the license fee pish again, there are a million ways around not paying for it, both legal and illegal so just stop paying it if Top Gear is shit.
Scawen, this is excellent. I don't know how the sim-racing community in general descended into having such hatred for different titles (not just against iRacing, iR fans hate AC, a ton of people hate rFactor etc...). The fact that you let this discussion happen here rather than shutting it down through a fear of competition says a lot about you, thanks.
I wondered how long before you started your shit again, when was the last time iRacing was down? It's a glitch in the servers, it happens, even companies like Google, Facebook etc don't have 100% uptime, shit happens in IT and we need to deal with it. Yes, that $0.10 i've lost by not being able to do a couple of races in the last couple of days is going to kill me.
They thought they had it fixed, turns out they hadn't. They're communicating the problems, and I'm sure they're not sitting in Boston having a right good laugh about the member-site being down.
good to read that, looking forward to the fix. Unfortunately, after bragging that everything was fixed today, it crashed again right before the 8pm GMT GT3 race, it's getting a bit beyond a joke.
There are a shit-load of people who all get the neutral problem too, mostly the fast guys, and I deliberately make myself wait before the next shift just to give it a chance. It is literally impossible for a fully automatic sequential to go into Neutral from 4th so clearly something is ****ed.
Yes I understand that, but if the real GT3 was constantly jumping from 4th gear into Neutral, they would pull it into the garage and find out what was going on. The Ruf does it constantly.
I agree, even if it was something along the lines of 20 or 30 minutes for a new car just so it can be implemented easily. It's not too outrageous, unless the car has engine damage or is bent/twisted with chassis damage or the like, I reckon most of the Le Mans crews could pretty much spit out a new car in 30 minutes / 1 hour if they had all the bits lying around.
There I was praising iRacing too and the membersite has been down for at least the last hour and a half. I'm itching to do some driving, I reckon the next big project should be overhauling the piece of shit member-site and getting rid of all the bloat.
I forgot they were doing the team stuff too, being able to officially join a team through the member-site then joining an endurance event as a team should work well actually, but again it's going to be limited to the few endurance races, 24 Daytona, Sebring, Spa, Silverstone, Petit, maybe even le Mans one day. I might need to find a team which will take me when it does get included though, can't imagine anything better than doing a virtual 24 hour race with a couple of other guys, as long as they don't crash it!
There is a difference between being built from the ground up with driver swaps to trying to retrofit it into what seems like a very difficult engine. To be honest I can't believe they are carrying on with it considering the amount of work it's taking, it's another one of those features that everybody cries for and then it hardly ever gets used. It's going to be practically impossible to include it in official racing, so it's pretty much going to be the odd endurance league event.
Re: the new build, the V5 cars drive very well indeed, I'm very impressed especially with the C6R and the Radical SR8. The RUF gearbox is garbage but it's the same as the Macca so I guess I'll be putting up with it. I have to say that right now iRacing is #1 in my head ahead of AC, the tyres feel very good now, the engine is still getting me 124fps locked on triple screens with everything turned on, silky smooth and sharp looking, whereas AC runs like a dog with all the settings turned off and looks worse for it. The only time I've noticed it dipping below 120fps was at the start of the 2.4, on an admittedly graphically intensive night track with 40+ cars all around me, and even then it was back up to 120+ after T1. If I'm on track myself and spin the tyres up in AC too much and make a bit of smoke it drops way way down and starts looking like a slideshow.
Yeah Teemu I had a ton of fun in that race, seemed to find just enough pace at the end to hold on to 2nd. Once I finally got a setup which made the RUF drive nicely I was really impressed with it, hopefully the other v5 cars feel as good. Member site is now live by the way. C6R & Ford GT both got V5 tyre too.
Relax mate, just a friendly joke, I would be more shocked if the cops didn't protect their own and fudge things rather than actually telling the truth in court. Everybody else lies in court anyway so why not people defending their friends.
You never know Becky, maybe weather is what made Scawen bin his tyre model and start again .
About Duggan, obviously he was a bit of a so called "gangster", but the whole fuss was about shooting an un-armed man. Maybe he did have a gun and threw it away, maybe the gun was planted, maybe the police are covering their own backs (I have no idea, I'm starting to sound like Racer X, shit), at the end of the day when he was shot dead he didn't have a gun on his person. It doesn't matter what he was in the past or still was, shooting an unarmed man (even if he did throw the gun away 5 seconds earlier) is not cool whichever way you look at it. Maybe he had it coming, but that's for the courts to decide. And, of course, an impartial jury decided it was a lawful killing, although it is completely within my rights to disagree with that conclusion (without knowing all the facts of course).
In America, an armed cop shooting a suspected "dickhead" wouldn't even make page 20 of the paper, over here it caused that much fuss that all armed cops are now going to have basically Gopro's strapped to them constantly so they are completely accountable for their actions. This is a very good thing.
Don't think I'm defending the rioting either, far from it. We in Scotland sat back laughing while watching England going absolutely bonkers . We're supposed to be the violent ones too!
Oh, and about that ****ing nutcase Tory/UKIP bible bashing idiot, please do not think he represents even a tiny slice of our country. Anyway, it's not like any other country isn't filled with the same nutjobs spewing their vile rhetoric, although probably not in The Netherlands where everybody is too busy getting stoned and making dance music .
I get the feeling you've been looking at too much porn and got yourself a nice little bit of malware . I can't reproduce it with the exact same series.
If you're only getting a wage of enough to buy a G27, then you need a new job. There's a CSW coming out of my next wage, that's going to hurt, a G27 is bugger all.
