I've been reading MP/SP is seamless, how exactly would that work if (say) my internet dies?

Invisibility mod? Do your research, there is a bug where some people become invisible, along with the chunk errorrs. It's not a hack, IMO you're jumping to conclusions

IMO it wasn't thad bad, mainly want it as I enjoyed TDU1 and it was fun

Okay, maybe I'm wrong about it but IIRC Scavier don't work like that, i.e.we didn't get S2 preview shots (but I may well be wrong).

Personally, I'm neutral whether S3 comes out, there's a lot of S2 stuff I've not tried, If S3 doesn't come out for whatever reason, S2 has a lot of depth

I think that scheme's one of the simplest, most brilliant schemes you can get. I never did like his Lite scheme either. It was okay on Max's Champcar, but can't beat the MGD scheme IMHO
