Cool lap there.
Glad I'm not that engine though...

That might be true, but you can hardly call the F1 circus eco-friendly.
Thousands of rich, high-consuming people flying around the world, staying in 5 star hotels and racing (and wrecking) millions of dollars worth of equipment.

I don't have a problem with it, but it's not eco-friendly.

Here's a quick onboard video (with a few external shots) of me trying to survive the first couple of laps online.

Two things:
-The framerate chugs a bit on the externals.
- Excuse the message chatter.

To all the h8ters, you're missing out on some great fun. I sped most of my time on the PC, but consoles can't be beat for sports / arcade games.

The other major thing is being able to have a bash with friends (over a few beers) who aren't hardcore gamers.

PC gaming is a lonely experience, either going solo or over teh 'soul-less' interweb. Human interaction is good.

Quote from Glenn67 :Why, might I ask, did the forklift driver have to lift the car two meters in the air to move it I have a sneaking suspision it wasn't entirely an accident

I read in a different report that he had it that high so he could see where he was going. Makes sense kinda.
One of the few things about this story that does make sense.

Type "The Gimp" (without inverted commas [edit - or with even]) in to the Google search engine. It will be the first thing on the list.
Click "Downloads"
Click "GIMP for Windows". It's on the left hand column.
Click "Automated Installer"
Click "Stable Version"
Click on "Download"
The download will then begin.

You know how to unzip stuff right?

Most people use Photoshop, but if you're short on coins, go download The Gimp. It's free and good.

Quote from ajp71 :That's the usual bollocks teams and promoters give you for not wanting innovation and design, if you have strict safety controls it doesn't have to be dangerous. Some club formulae still have home built and substantially redesigned cars and they don't seem to have people dropping dead left right and centre. Same goes for Britcar, Dutch Supercars and the Nurburgring 24 hours, they all have pretty free regulations and I don't see any more danger than the more tightly control GT formulae

Well, I just looked up the Britcar regulations as an example, and it looks like there are a few.

Quote from deggis :Well, what other modern racing series has really space for real innovation? GT and some endurance series might have less restricted regulations but you don't see anything as new, spectacular and crazy as you saw in F1 20-30 years ago or rallying in the 80s. That's not only F1's fault, just too bad that motorsport has evolved this way.

The innovation we saw in motorsport up to the late 70s/ early 80s stopped simply beacuse it became too dangerous. The focus went over to saftey.
I think that's fair enough too. Imagine where we'd be now if F1 was never restricted? There would be lots of dead people.
Interesting cop car
