Thats great to hear PLAYLIFE, I am glad your now experiencing how great this addon is.
It also proves my instructions work
You have also reminded me to continue with writing the next part to give ppl instructions on editing the config file to personalise the look of LFSRelax. Hopefully I will get it done this weekend.
I am learning this sh*t but I also thought that forums like these were to help ppl and with that in mind here is a screen shot of the material in Max.
Looks to me it is already coloured black but I still have the same problem as stated before as it looks as though the material does reflect the ground plane as "the e rocker" points out but I can't see how as it looks to me that the material is set not to.
I am still looking for help with this if anyone cares to take a look, please
Yes I thought that you may be able to do like that but I am still very new to rendering and could not work out how or which even material I need to change?
Hello C40Z, that is a great scene but I have one issue with it as you can see from this render the tyre side walls are missing the texture / material. I am not sure whether I have done something wrong but have you got any ideas what I can do to fix it?
PLAYLIFE, not sure what your doing but I will go through the install, how I do it anyway.
Installation Procedure:
1. Open LFSRelax.rar file.
2. Within the rar window open the release folder.
3. Extract or Drag the bin folder to a folder of your choice on your HDD. (I put it into my main LFS folder).
4. Rename the bin folder (the one you just extracted onto your PC) as LFSRelax.
Start Procedure:
1. Start LFS (as you normally do).
2. Once LFS is running, open a text/chat message box by hitting "T" on the keyboard.
3. Type "/insim 29999" in the chat box then hit "enter".
4. Start LFSRelax.exe in you LFSRelax folder.
5. If successful you will see a message within LFS indicating LFSRelax is connected.
I will post how to edit the config file & what each of the main parameters mean later, after I work out the best way to write it for everyone to understand.
Gai-Luron, If you would like to include this in your documentation then please feel free to do so.
It is great to see you trying to sort out the pit spotter accuracy issues & 2 patches in a night means you are trying to match Scawen
Hi Gai-Luron, I tested v1.47 online and found pitspotter to still be a little inaccurate although I think at times that it seems that it is trying to finish its 1st message before being able to adjust for the change of car positions and saying the correct message. Not sure if that has something to do with it. But I did here "your in the middle", so well done on getting that working
(sorry I didn't save any replay's, will try to next time)
Yep I get the same issues, I posted so earlier in this thread and asked Gai-Luron if he could look at it some time in the future.
BTW I am still to hear pitspotter say "your in the middle".
I have modified my pitspotter settings which seem to have improved it but it is still not 100&, give them a try & see what you think.
HVS5b, you are unbelievable. I can't understand why you are like this particularly to Gai-Luron who selflessly dedicates his own time to developing some of the most useful applications for LFS. Just to prove that Gai-Luron also offers the source code for free for anyone so inclined to develop it further or along another tangent. Please remember that Gai-Luron does this without reward other than the praise he receives from ppl in forums like this. For you to come along and totally insult him for not helping you is both unjustified and disrespectful. It is also incomprehensible that you do all this without even downloading the app and having a look at how it works.
Now that being said I feel that some of the communications between you both have suffered due to the language barrier (no disrespect meant either way) and possibly that you happened to catch Gai-Luron in a moment of frustration, either way it would be nice if this could come to end.
Finally I would be more than happy to help you but first I would like to see you download the app give it a go then tell me exactly what you want. This could be quite simply saying I just want pitspotter and nothing else, or I want pitspotter, gap times and km's driven. From this I will create your own custom cfg file and post it here.
I will even help you understand how to edit the cfg file, if you would like to that is?
It may even help others who stumble across this.
BTW I am no coding genius, so I am sure you can learn how to do it as well.
The offer has been extended I hope you will consider accepting.
Awesome Gai-Luron,
Have been testing beta v1.41 tonight and have had no issues.
Thank you for adding the new features in this release, especially the fuel/lap calculation and the ability to switch functions on & off.
I have another suggestion for your consideration, is there any possibility to have colours assigned to the gap times?
So if you are closing the gap in front and extending the gap behind then the gap times are displayed green but if you losing time in front and falling back then the gap times are displayed red.
If needed to stop many colour changes while racing then maybe only have the color change/updated once you cross the split & lap time markers. I hope you know what I mean.
It would be a quick way to know how you are progressing without having to remember or stare at the times constantly.
EDIT: I need to ask why would you disable outgauge?
Is it so you can run a different app?
If you do disable outgauge what stops working in or with LFSRelax??
Wow Gai-Luron I am liking this more and more can't wait to see what else is coming.
Some comments and suggestions.
1. PitSpotter is still a bit too inaccurate and I also can't remember hearing "middle" as reported before. When I say inaccurate I mean that it will tell you there is a car "right" when it is actually behind you on the right, also it will say clear left as the car has actually come around on the right and is still on the right side etc. I am not sure if this could be simply fixed with a change of settings but I am not sure what to change. Any ideas?
2. Any possibility that some of the In-Game buttons/data can be switched on/off via the cfg file by the user. I for one don't care to much about the split as it appears on screen in LFS already and the LFS Relax buttons can get quite distracting.
3. I know you are busy developing the In-Game data but one thing I would like to see soon is the fuel calculation (live fuel % and predicted laps left) that In-Game has, it is a great help.
I actually looked into this myself as I wanted to put a graphic on the number plate but I found it couldn't be done.
I got the idea after I discovered that CMX viewer uses DDS files (s_plate.DDS & s_plate_ATEST.DDS) which can obviously be easily modified to carry any letters or graphic.
But LFS itself does not work in that way, it is just as shiny_red_cobra says, so only the predefined letters and characters can be used in-game.
Cheers Bob,
Bet it is great to say you have reached this point of development.
Although I know there are many more things you want to add.
Thanks again for sharing this great tool and best of luck with the future development of it, I wait in anticipation
After recently doing a clean-up & update of my personal team helmet I thought I would post it here for ppl to have a look and comment. I started it all from scratch & it represents ~5-6hrs of work. The checkers are the best I could do without spending a stupid amount of time to get them perfect but it looks fine in-game as is anyway.
ha ha ha, OMG.
Well if you save it as a DXT1 file it reduces it to 2,731MB which is the normal 2048 skin size for LFS.
If you reduce it to 1024 and save it as DXT1 then it is 683KB the same size as a 1024 Hi_Res skin from LFSW.
Anyway I have reduced to save FPS.
Great Seat, Well Done
EDIT: There is no perceptible difference at 2048 DXT1 & half the file size.
Yes it did give me the message on LFS start but the keys were set as the default CtrlF11/CtrlF12, I also re-run the installer but it still did the same. I just gave up and used CtrlF11/CtrlF12 in the end.
Hi Flip, I finally installed & used this today, it is very good, works well and is quite useful.
However I tried defining different keys than the default CtrlF11/CtrlF12 using the installer. I selected AltF11/AltF12 but within LFS it still installed FlipCams to the default key combo of CtrlF11/CtrlF12.
Any Ideas Why?
Well tested LFSRelax today, all went smoothly and works fine.
Well Done Gai-Luron excellent work.
I do however recommend Fischfix settings as they make pitspotter work more like the old version, Thankyou.
Excellent work Gai-Luron, I hope you don't mind me still raising bugs and suggestions to improve this great program.
I just haven't the time to learn to code
Anyway I have tested v0.9 using TCP and all worked well.
I noticed 2 things with the pitstop data in these Race Stats that you may want to look into to.
1. The order of events for racer .OzB. Threeps on Lap 10 pitstop says
I was thinking it should be in this order of logic, Lap 10:, Stop, Mechanical Damage, Body Damage, Refuel, Start (0:10.81)
Not sure if you can do much about thew order though?
2. This is just to do with English translation & spelling, but I believe it should say:
Mechanical Damage - not Mechanicals Damages
& Body Damage not Body Dammage, 1 too many 'm's
Thanks for your time once again
EDIT: I have had a suggestion from one of my fellow league racers at MNR to ask if there is any way to have the line colours on the graphs set so they are very different colours with more contrast between the racers. If you look at the above stats many colours a very similar in appearance particularly the last 4-6 racers in the graph legend list. I know this has to do with the graphs app but thought you may be able help.
