Dual Monitor problems

Ive been looking for some kind of tutorial how to setup LFS to play on dual monitors but havn't found anything. I have some problems.

I have Radeon 9800 Pro (Catalyst drivers) and recently bought new LCD display and decided to use both - old CRT and new LCD to have dual monitor display and play LFS using it. However no matter what i do I cant set everything up.
I have LCD attached at DVI and CRT at analog output. I can use stretched desktop in Windows however after running LFS the resolution options end at 1280x1024. No dual monitor resolutions.

Maybe I should turn something at Catalyst Control Center or install some new software but I cant find what exactly should I do.

Please help.

The cars should be so shiny first of all. Amount of specular/cube map reflecting should be varied on different on different parts of the car in time. The roof would be shiny all the time but doors and bottom part of the body would be matt. Simple specualar-type map texture with dirt texture would make a good work.

Some updates were done to the project. Much more trucks (including a car too - Police Dodge) and ability to fly a plane with full aerodynamics. Crazy stuff. Physics engine is 30% faster than before AFA I can tell.

I searched for the thread about this game but havn't found anything.

It looks kind of proffesional but I fear it would be another game using Pacejka system, which is unrealistic in sertain situations and not feedbacking the driver especially while driving non-openwheelers (look at rFactor, GTR2) , to calculate physics in game.
Maybe the media support (Eurosport) will make the game have sertain feeling and even commentary (dreaming). Website looks cool and have lots of info.

I must say that I have never seen any community so creative, healpful for coplayers and developers, cultural and seeming to be a big family other than LFS. It is so great that players tend to help developers advertise their products in their countries. Have never heard about such actions. Good work guys!

I had something simmilar when Vertex Shaders was accidentaly off in LFS. You should check if HVS is ON in options.

When Im slipstreaming a car and start overtaking it I can not find out easily if I am in front of the car or not yet. This would solve the problem.

I am searching for a little game I was playing quite a long time ago (5 years). If you know the title please let me know.

I wish I had a screenshot but unfortunatelly I have not.

What I remember:

Realistic physics.
OpenGl / Direct3d / Software rendering available
One car only. Looked like a sedan. Flat shaded. No textures on.
Split screen available.
One "area" in demo. It was square of terrain with roads. You had a certain amount of time to collect all "checkpoints". It was about one hour I suppose.
I remember that in demo area startpoint was in a village.
Steering was very unique because it was possible to steer with a mouse witch was way better than keyboard.
You could crash a car when hitting something. A broaken glass "spiderweb" appeared on screen (like in old Test Drive games).


I remember I downloaded it from www.3dgamers.com when it was not commertialized then. I cannot fint it there know

I was thinking about it myself and I think all first and second team drivers just dont do their best at friday practice. Kubica is good, it's no doubt watching his past career and seeing him at first places during friday runs just says that he is skillful. He is believed to turn driver together with Heitfield on the next season when Villneuve leaves F1. It is good to see him at first places but noone can tell what would be his position if he starts in a normal F1 race.

I dont know what is the problem that LFS uses DX7 ? Anyone of you program DirectX games that you know that there is a problem with setting up the game to DX8 standards?

DirectX is a standard. It is backward compatible. So there is no problem.

There are vertex shaders implemented so LFS IS DIRECTX 8.0 game

In my opinion this aspect should be taken into consideration when implementing Pixel Shaders into the engine by Scawen. All the dirt coming onto the car should be less reflective than the clean parts of the car. Apart from that all objects int the game should have specular maps and bump maps so to look as real as possible. Those two types of mapping is becoming the standard in modern 3d games so I think it should be implemented ASAP.
