I have never seen a F1 car take off when going into a spin. The only times I saw them take off was due to contact.

Please dont compare stock car behaviour like in NASCAR with F1 behaviour.

Quote :So, is there an English version of that website?

Hm, no, not that I know off. Basic concept: The Intel Racing Tour uses a version of LFS for offline open-to-everyone events in which people can qualify for a grand finale. In that finale the qualified drivers race for a BMW M6 given as prize.

Quote :so in cases like that the horn would come in handy, then if there is a car in front that you think is just not letting you pass, they may just not know your there

If they are lapped, they get a blue flag. If they aren't lapped, why should they let you pass?

As promised, here is some new info for you endurance nutters:

First of all, we will be holding a race on May 21st to welcome the new patch and the long awaited tire and aero changes. I am sure this will be interesting and we do hope to see all three GTR cars competing. The track will most probably be Aston North, but that may change. The exact race format is not decided yet, it might differ from what we had before. More info on that in the next couple of days, as well with info on sign up and teams selection.
May 21st is a Sunday, not a Saturday, pls do keep that in mind. It's not a F1 weekend, though.

The other news is that we got ourselves a spanking fresh ans shiny domain, which of course has to be filled with contents yet, but you can already look at it at: http://www.mastersofendurance.eu.
You can get in contact with us admins under "admins 'at' mastersofendurance.eu" which means you do not have to send us PMs anymore, that email-address will reach both Frank and me.

There is no need to insult people, André. Unless you cant get your point across by argumentative means, of course.
The way for faster drivers to go around slower ones is to be careful and make a safe pass. Not to blow horns.

r4ptor: you have the overview map to see where cars are. Use it.

What people forget is that real F1 cars are nowadays constructed with the TC in mind, meaning that the engineers can be more aggressive on the general layout of the car knowing that the driver is helped by the TC.

It's not just to make it easier, it's there to make it quicker by using a more aggressive setup and still keeping it controllable. I am sure we will see some very quick setups in the next couple of weeks that will be totally uncontrollable without TC and that would be just like in real life.
What's going on?

Just to let everyone know:

We are planning a race in May, the exact format isn't fixed yet, though. We will also let you know about the future plans in the next couple of days. Stay tuned.

As Woz said, we should not expect power oversteer will be gone after the update. Afterall, that is part of reallife and if you floor it too hard, well then you will have to pay for it.

I expect a change in the behaviour AFTER the tire lost lateral grip and how it comes back to you. I don't expect it to build up unlimited lateral grip, which would be more wrong than it used to be.

Quote :Tractioncontrol, plaah! If the tires are fixed, wich seem likely because teasing us with a F1, there shouldnt be much problems.

Right. Michelin and Bridgestone must have gotten their tire physics wrong. What other reason would be there that F1 uses TC?

You can only test drive the setup, you cannot get the setup out of the replay.

If the front is higher than the back, you can delete it. Quite simple.

Quote :i try to never engine brake, because it spins the rear wheels and then you screw yourself (ei: test it out with the FOX)

No. Engine braking does not spin the wheels. Downshifting at the wrong revs locks the wheels for a very short moment which might get your rear lose.

Quote :Didn't anyone notice the fact that the driver is animated on the Formula pic (helmet tilted, wheel turning)?

Always has been. Even in the MRT before S2 Alpha.

If an admin tells you you can race with 2, you could do it.

We decided against doing that since we dont have those cones flying around if someone does mess up.
Pitting at Kyoto National

Pitting in and out can be quite an issue on this track with people trying to carry too much speed through the last turn or joining the track too early after they come out of the pit.

Therefore we will enforce this rule: You have to drive off the oval and stay inside the yellow line before the last turn (oval turn) when pitting in and you must not rejoin the track after the yellow line ended behind T1 (first oval turn).
Failure to obey this rule will be penalized with a drive through penalty.

You guys are right (I just checked), unfortunately there was no news in the intl. sections, just the German one. I'll remind the responsible folks to consider posting such news internationally as well in future.

There was a new database server installed (serverpark consists of 21 webservers and 3 database servers now with a combined ram of 36gb for the three database servers ).

If you had looked at the news yesterday, you would know that upgrades are being undertaken this morning.

The daily downtime is btw noted in the terms of use, had you looked at them you would know about it. It is done so the calculation of all the leagues (including LFS UK) can be done much quicker and with less hinderance for the users during the rest of the day. It takes place early in the morning because that's the time the least amount of users are online during that time.

Quote :TBH, the ESL site is the first site I have encountered that needs to be taken offline daily for backups.

Do you know any other page with 400.000+ active users and a few thousands operatins a day which influence leagues of more than 10.000 participants? It's not like the database only consists of a simple forum where entries only have to be added but do not influence other entries. Take the big leagues like Counterstrike: In Germany several 10.000 users play the CS 1on1 ladder. If only one match takes place, this influences the whole ladder. Do this calculation during regular daytime activity and you would know what slowness on a page really is.

Wtf? Who gave you permission to do that? Hah, I knew it! Noone. So why do you think you can simply do that?

Bah, the youth of today...no respect for the..oehm, themselves?

Very sad to hear that, hope you guys stay around anyways.

This thread is first and for all for those teams that already have a spot in MoE. Only if one of these teams decide not to race, we will give an opportunity for new teams.

Yeah, we will open the server at 20:00 for you guys.

Note to everyone else: the session from 20-21:00 is not for the teams that already had a chance to use quali1 on Sunday, you gotta wait for the session 21:00-22:00.

Don't get me wrong: If OLFSL had been on the same day, there would be no question, that we'd respect that fact. But it is not, so.
