Quote from CrazyICE :but if someone have account data it's possible to play i think!
there was a website, which asked for user data, and some have posted their accounts, i'm sure!
==>

but cracking and hacking and piracy is common, this will never stop...
microsoft wouldn't be so big if no cracks exists!

well, if i have your bank account data, i can steal your money.
Of course there is no proof against user stupidity oder cyber crimes.
If someone steals your acc, he can play. But then he stole it from you and you can't play anymore. You would have to buy a new account, so it's actually good for the devs

Quote from Anarchi-H :Hate to piss on the 'crack proof' bonfire, but it is far from it since LFS still operates without the master server by specifying an IP/port. In addition, if someone was determined to be an arse, an lfs master server emulator wouldn't be overly difficult to create for someone that can emulate / bypass the unlocking sequence.

Far from crack proof, but certainly the most robust deterrant to date.

(P.S, for those of you that think a master server emulator is far fetched, try googling for EQEmu)

well, LFS isn't everquest. And the devs cans still take legal actions against the coders. Look how blizzard handles open bnet and wow servers.
And to get such a thing work, you need to operate the server somewhere. Unless you do this from an old oilrig in the oceans without laws, you have to take the risk to get sued.
So you could only use an open MS for a small audience for private races. But you can already do this via VPN.
If people are so eger to save 36€ and don't want stats, full public servers and league races, let them. Those guys won't pay anyway.

Not to mention the frequent patches, scawen can change the behaviour with each patch, so the crackers will always have to play with an old version.

Anyway, a download version only for S1/S2 licensed users won't help anything, i think you agree here!

you can clear messages with CTRL (or was it shift?) + H

Of course you can wait until it disapears by itself, but it's useful for making movies.

if you really think there is a way to stop piracy: wake up!

Especially not with such a naive idea!

LFS has already the best copy protection available. It's an online game, and you can only play it online if you paid for it. There is no crack for that!

only 3 votes?

what about the other teams?

It looks like RSC from day one because it uses the same theme. But it looks less like RSC with every update.

Maybe we will see a liveforspeed.net theme sometimes..

then each leader should state his vote here too, to eliminate fake votes.

Quote from TagForce :Since when does germany use ; for a ,?

CSV should mean character seperated value... I've seen the weirdest characters used as delimiters.

ask microsoft! i said excel uses ; in CSV files as the delimiter.
Because you can't use commas.

ok, maybe i missed something, but what does "msg:L" and "def:L" in the chat window mean?

€dit: ok, i found out, you can switch the codepage

and maybe i found a bug, i watched a race with 2 drivers and the TAB key didn't work. When the 3rd driver joined it worked.
Don't know if it happened only one time, but i heard the same thing happened to my teammate with P1.

SabersKunk is right.
in germany for example we use "," as decimal separator (like 3,14159265) and "." for sorting "thoundands" (like 1.000.000).

So it would be pretty inconvienent if you separate decimal numbers by commas

iirc german excel exports to ";" while englisch excel exports to ","

ok, it's not a bug, just a little suggestion.

right now you can access the forum by
lfsforum.net
lfsforum.com
www.lfsforum.net
www.lfsforum.com

If you are logged in for lfsforum.net and click on a link for www.lfsforum.net, you are not logged in (i guess the cookies only recognize the specific domain).

The same goes for lfsworld.

How about redirecting all URLs to one URL? It would save some confusion because you are in the wrong timezone or you have to log in again.

Of course it's not a big deal, just a litte suggestion. unless there is another reason for this.

about the play in the axis, that's normal behaviour. I got my 4th wheel now and they all had it. It's there from the beginning but it increases a little bit with the time.

The play itself isn't really the problem, but the "clack" sound is a little bit annoying.

yes, that would be nice, but since the percentage is counted by laps and not by time it's hard to predict the race length.
maybe an additional display for the estimated percentage would be the way to go.

have you tried it with autokick=on?

i think scawen should think about making the current GTR cars competitive instead of adding new cars to the class.

because that were the rules for last race. The rules were changed BEFORE this race.
All teams had the same conditions in both races.

Yes, it's true. There are 3 versions, short, national and GP.

There are various version of most tracks (except Spa, Imola and Zolder)

It's a great single player game.
It's really fun to fight against the AI for the bonus cars.

I like the way you can control a muscle car with the gas pedal through the corner. I would like to have this control in LFS.

On the downside it has great performance problems (even on really fast machines) and the usual Simbin bugs that makes you wonder if they have any betatesters at all.

please use AA/AF next time. It destroys the whole picture. Otherwise those pics would be really nice.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Regarding the DFP and its huge rotation: Presumably there's some hardware stop or something that stops the wheel at 900 degrees, but when you select a lower range (say, 720, 270, 540), what is it that stops the wheel from turning further? Is it just the motor?

There is a really strong feedback that stops you. And by really strong i mean really strong

i would take the red momo.

then sell it on ebay for 200€, buy a new DFP for 80€ and spend the 120€ on something else
