But if you use IMG tags as a link to another URL or picture (like the imageshack thumbs in this post: http://lfsforum.net/showpost.php?p=15262&postcount=11 )
and you have the "Show IMG tags" option in you profile disabled, you just see a link to the thumbnail, but not the link to the real image.
Which means you could never use such links, because you'll never know if someone enabled or disabled it.
frank, you have the "Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)" option disabled. Then the forum shows just the IMG, but not the URL.
even if it's a fun event, it's still annoying if you read the chat and drive off the road and maybe ruin the whole race just because of a stupid smiley.
but i think we could allow chat blocking. Admins can address messages directly to the user, so nobody would miss an important announcement.
i think that would be a good compromise.
about the penalty: if you just lose the actual lap, people would just disconnect with a damaged car or punctures instead of driving to the pits. i think we should enforce the teams to stay in the ranking, because you lose much fun if someone reconnects and you don't know who's driving against you and who not.
Of course you could check if it's a intended disco or not, but who will do that during the race? I don't think that's possible.
So i think -1 lap is a good compromise (from the next race on).
Maybe you should check what's causing the disconnects instead? At least the first 6 teams didn't have a disconnect at all.
what makes you think there would be a nordschleife in lfs?
even in the most modded game ever, F1C, there is no decent nordschleife.
Just another conversion of a conversion of a conversion of the GPL version.
You would just get ALOT mediocre tracks, and maybe 1 or 2 gems.
If they have the quality of eric's tracks, that would be great, but i don't see this happen.
We will see how the rF nordschleife will be. If it's built from scratch, maybe this could change my mind.
GT4 has set the benchmark for the ring, that's the version the modders have to compete with.
And remember, it's already hard enough to find a server without oval, Aston National oder BLGP. Imagine what would happen if there are hundred of tracks around. Not to mention that it's a pain in the ass to search the download links before you can join.
I haven't tried it, and that's how it should be, but i heard alot from guys wo cutted every lap and it didn't caused any real damage. At least not enough not to cut.
Andy kyoto gp laps are very long, so you don't do many laps in one stint, which means you don't have the opportunity to cut so often.
I don't have a problem with you. I just don't think it's ok how the top drivers in the hotlap charts cut the chicanes. Not only you, i just watched the first 3 drivers a while ago, that was you, rudi and unlimited, and it was pretty much the same, some cut more, some cut less.
I don't care about hotlaps and WRs, and i don't want to start a discussion about when it's HLVC it's ok etc.
But i think in a race we have a rule, 2 tires on the track all the time.
And you can't claim that in your hotlap, can you?
I don't know your lap in the qualy, and i don't care, it's a 12 hours race, so i couldn't care less about the starting position (ok, i could in the 24h race ).
But in the race it makes a difference, if you "cut" 0,5 secs every lap. So my only concern was that we are all on the same page about a clean lap in the race.
Imho the stoppers on the curbs aren't considered as track, maybe you or the admins have a different opinion.
So it would be nice if the admins could make this clear, or provide a layout for the race.
sorry, if it sounded like an offense, wasn't meant this way.
