Looking forward to the race at Pocono this weekend, should be draft heavy. They ran 215mph lap times in testing.

1989 Pocono 500 (including period adverts for that real feeling that you're watching it live)

Its probably because they are catching the leading edge of the kerbs at the exit of Abbey and the exit of Becketts (i.e. where the kerb starts).

From Dr. James Norman

Quote :Allan Simonsen. Although we do not know the actual cause of death of Alan Simonson at yesterday’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, reports are that he was conscious and talking when rescue workers first tended to him, only to have him become unconscious a few moments later, to be pronounced dead a short time later. He was driving in one of the most modern sedan-type cars (not open-cockpit) and his factory sponsored Aston Martin had every possible modern piece of safety equipment. This in car video from the car behind shows the likely cause (our opinion) of Allan’s crash was acceleration of the car while the left rear tire was on the painted (and very slick in the wet) blue line. There was no evidence of penetrating injuries, and no evidence of blunt force trauma. Thus the likely cause of this terrible tragedy is almost certainly to be related to a sudden deceleration injury, either to the brain, or to the aorta.

Ollie Gavin (was behind the Aston at that time) suggested that it could have maybe hit a tree behind the barriers as they are quite close.

Looked like it. Onboard from behind if you want

Quote from BlueFlame :You mean the stock engine that has a branded rocker cover or what?

I thought the engine formula in V8SC was just like NASCAR.

Quote from ****ing why don't you look this stuff up :
Engine and Drivetrain

All cars must be front-engined and rear-wheel drive. All cars use a 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8-engine with electronic fuel injection, capable of producing between 460 and 485 kW(620–650 bhp).Manufacturers are free to choose between using an engine based on one from their own line up or a generic engine provided by V8 Supercars. Both Ford and Holden use US-based racing engines with pushrod actuated valves and two valves per cylinder. Mercedes and Nissan, meanwhile, use modified versions of their own engines, with hydraulic-lift valves and four valves per cylinder. All engines are electronically limited to 7500 rpm and have a compression ratio of 10:1.
