Theres no law on what you can or can't overtake on a "normal" road.
How can you possibly say "it's not safe" to overtake an unlimited number of cars if the conditions permit? Are you saying it's not safe to overtake on a motorway?!
If I wasn't 100% satisfied (and happy to defend) my driving in this video, do you think I would of uploaded it for the world to see?
How is one any more dangerous than two? There is a risk that the second driver could try to overtake without seeing me, but thats something I was on the lookout for....
I would have no problem at all slowing back down and slotting in behind the cars even once I was level with the first driver, without having a head on. I wouldn't overtake if there wasn't enough room for evasive action if required.
Errr, I don't want to do 35-40 the whole way to work stuck behind yet another Sunday driver is "justfication" enough. In fact I don't actually think I need to justify my overtakes to you at all but hey-ho...
Yes, you can - perhaps not on the video (mounted just to the left of the rear view mirror), but you certainly can from the drivers seat (on the right of the car).
Bullshit. You can overtake blocks of cars no problem at all, as long as you fully asses the potential hazards and road conditions of the road you will be using.
Most of my double or triple overtakes are done as blocks simply because most people follow far too close to the car in front, and you'd never safely slot a car in that gap.
Whats wrong overtaking 2 cars in one manoeuvre? I've overtaken 8 cars in one before without it being dangerous.
There was only one side road while I was actually overtaking, and that road is a dirt track going to a few houses that runs parallel the road I was on - i.e. you can easily see if any cars are on the road, and see if theres going to be anyone pulling out from the side road well before I commited to the overtake.
I love how you guys are determined to find fault with my driving.
What? Why would you if the road is completely clear?
Although the video doesn't show it so well, you can see straight across those bends and any cars coming for the next half a mile. There is *no* way you'd not see a car coming. I would only do it if I could see there was nothing coming, and the surface of the road itself (which I can). It's not about driving fast (because I really wasn't), it's just about being smooth
Effectively its making it draw ~2w (rather than the fraction of a watt it actually needs) to make the car think theres a real bulb there.
You don't need such a huge heatsink to dissipate the "wasted" 2w (which goes into heat), and i've used loads of "no error" LED's before and none of had such a ridiculous heatsink on there.
On the ZT / 75 diesels, the pipe connecting the intercooler to the engine has some O-Rings which swell really easily. This makes a poor seal, and means under boost, some comes out around this join.
This often leaves oily deposits near the front wheel / undertray, and can cause hesitancy as well.
I keep my laptops for ~9 months before I get bored and get something else. The extra speed is nice, but i'm fairly sure i'll end up getting something smaller, lighter and less nasty soon anyway.
EDIT - Luckily my old install of Windows still worked so I didnt have to go through days of reinstalling software... WIN.
My old Acer broke twice, and I decided I wanted something a little faster than the SU9400, so I bought an Acer 4820T. Build quality isn't brilliant, but at £280 for a refurb I really can't complain.
It's got an i3 with an 8 hour battery life, should fit the bill nicely...
Also junked the 3GB of RAM for 8GB, the 250GB HDD for a 500GB one and the Broadcom WiFi card for an Intel 5300 I had spare.
Worryingly this is my 4th laptop/netbook in my 2 years at Uni...
EDIT - Weirdly, despite being a refurb & looking brand new, it was built in March last year...
i.e. a 320cd is a BMW 3-series, 2.0 Litre (although not always) coupe diesel. a 550i is a BMW 5-series 5.5 Litre (again, not always) petrol saloon.
And a 320i is a 2.3 petrol... and a 316d is a 2.0 diesel. Way to confuse, BMW.
Just had a look on the US site and it's amazing the cars you dont get... all you seem to have is the 335d & x5 35d diesels.
In the UK diesels outsell petrols (for all the wrong reasons mainly), and you can get a diesel engine from 2-3.5 litres in pretty much every car (i.e. everything non-M or Z)
