Quote from danthebangerboy :LOL nice one becky

I finished making a layout of the track on the BL carpark using google maps images and calculating the distances in LFS which allowed me to make the track as near the exact size it is IRL as possible, however, there is a problem...

I failed to take into account the fact that an MRT is significantly larger in size than a go-kart, so i am going to have start again but up-scale it in some way so the MRT fits the track properly, as at the moment you wouldn't be able to get 2 cars side by side anywhere. :weeping:

Maybe this will help?

Had a phone call from the Kart Centre, apparently some clothes have been left behind, and also someone left a rollmat in my house. If you think you have lost some clothing let me know. I will pick them up as soon as I can, and will post them to you if they are yours I will post photos of the clothes when I get them.

Quote from franky500 :I will need picking up if possible from Ebbw Vale Parkway.

either 16:31 or 17:31 (should be 16:31 providing coach gets to cardiff on time)

Dean, why don't you get off at Llanhilleth instead. It is closer to my house, easier for me to get to, and less journey time/cost for you Just give me a ring when you are 15 minutes away

Scawen did post that he expected good things for LFS in 2009. Seen as we are far into it, and the shiccoko was first in LFS about a year ago, I think it is safe to say the shiccoko is only a small part of the new patch. This would lead me to speculate (also based on that german gaming thread here), that major physics changes are in progress.

This will mean that if they are major enough, then that means every car we drive in LFS, every track, every laptime etc, will be completley new to us, which would make me (and a lot of others IMO) very very happy and breathe a new life into LFS

Just thought I would post my plan for the weekend. I know we have one by Mark for the Karting but I thought it would help to also show you what I have planned for the rest of the weekend

Friday

16:05 - Pick up Mackie the Staggie from Abergavenny Station

18:14 - Pick up Boothy from Abergavenny Station

19:05 - Pick up CountBazley from Abergavenny Station

People will be arriving by car all day up until early evening.

So friday will be about taking all the arrivals. There will be snacks and sandwiches etc for the day, then I think we should order take out (chinese/kebabs/pizza's etc) for the evening. We should go over the team pairings also then.

Activities - Pool, Darts, Wii, LFS, cards, chess, getting to know eachother, drinking, eating etc...

11pm to 1am sleep (we need to be up early!)

Saturday

07:00-08:15 Get up, shower and get ready, coffee!! (4 bathrooms so we should be ok)
08:15-9:15 Breakfast at the local Cafe.
9:15-18:00 Karting (arrive at Kart centre between 10-10:30)
18:00-19:00 Showers/change clothes etc
19:00 onwards will be BBQ, watching IGTC (maybe we can get some people to talk on the live stream) and PARTY!!

Sunday

I have bought plenty of cereal and orange juice so that should send you home OK

House Rules

Smoking is allowed downstairs, but no smoking upstairs at all, and also no shoes upstairs. There is a bathroom (if I finish it in time :P) downstairs so it shouldn't be a problem. There will be a fridge and freezer outside in the marquee so hopefully we shouldn't need to go to the kitchen side of the house too much on the Saturday.

I have 6.5 mbs wireless internet and have taken my password off for the weekend and a HUGE (300 GB) limit so if anyone wants to bring laptops etc they are welcome to use my connection. I also have 4 ethernet ports spare for those without wireless.

Flickr

There is a LFS flickr group here - http://www.flickr.com/groups/lfs/

I have setup an account for you to use to upload photos and videos, the account id is - lfskart and the password is kartmeet

Photo's from the event will be uploaded to here throughout the weekend so those not attending can follow us

(Obviously please other people please don't start putting crap in there and using our 100mb allowance, this is for the community so don't take the piss)

Does that sound OK to everyone? And also have I missed anyone out who needs picking up?

tbh I think that there might be more than a few, that is alot of karting and it is going to hurt on that small and windy track

Ok problem solved, now we have another one

[SR] Pete and krslim are coming now, but this will mean one team will have to be 4 drivers. I assume this shouldn't be too much of a problem as some people might not want to do as much karting as we have planned. So if anyone would like to do slightly less karting and join a team of 4 let me know.

ATM we have a problem with only 29 drivers. That means I am short on the money for the karting and 1 team will need to be 2 drivers instead of 3. So me & Mark might be in a team of 2 and pay extra. If someone else turns up by then we will be alright. A few people said they might but we will have to wait and see.

OK, besides the curbs, can someone explain to me why in every car in iracing, if you release the throttle, on a corner, or whenever, under braking, your car spins out?

Now I am sure, in real life, if you lift the throttle to change gear or brake, without giving it 30-40% throttle, your car doesn't suddenly go into physics meltdown and spin out?

Is this an iracing thing, because I have never seen or felt this in any other sim except gpl, or in real life... I am more than happy to accept that I am completley wrong here, but I don't want to learn a skill in iracing that is nothing like real life, it could kill me one day

Can someone who has driven any of these cars for real, please confirm that if you lift the throttle to < 30%, your car will go into uncontrollerable meltdown.... Even when you are braking for a bloody corner

You HAVE to always have a certain amount of throttle in iracing, ala trailbraking, to even keep the cars under control. I am willing to accept that some cars, maybe the skippy, need this wierd kind of control, but I cannot see why every car in iracing exhibits this same behaviour?

Surely, each car should need different styles/methods, but it feels to me like that if I learn the iracing way for the skippy, then i'm good to go in any car in the game...

Maybe I am being pedantic, but I simply don't feel that what is going on, and what I am learning to play the game, would translate to real life....

Quote from PMD9409 :It's the curb, I'll repeat it until I am blue in the face.

Something about curbs in iRacing will just make you lose control rapidly. I never liked how the cars seemed to react over 80% of the curbs, so I just stay away from them now.

Would the curbs to that in real life?

On a side note, some of LFS's curbs are also ridiculous, which are obviously bugs, but not the majority
