TBH I am quite surprised at the lack of apparent talent in the USA. These drivers come over after dominating there own backyard, to find out that the real competition is very hard. Fair enough, the cars/teams have alot to do with it, but still I would expect a few American drivers in F1 who could cut it Also, seen as the USA is such a huge market, then why don't teams give the yanks a chance in a good car, at least for monetary/sponsorship reasons...
Edit: May I take Football (soccer) as an example - the USA is doing pretty well now, but only after quite a few years (100+) of America thinking of it as a minority sport. If only the USA would integrate with the rest of the world in more ways, do I think that they can be a real force in World Sport. We still have the crazy situation of them claiming the World series in baseball (come on, we did that when we were 12, then never again), and other sports, when really they only play a few sports with the rest of the world. Golf, tennis, football & boxing is as much as I can think of atm. America is rightly very good at these, when they integrate with the rest of the world and stop thinking that the world is the US of A
I would like to see in the future American drivers doing more feeder series in Europe and testing themselves against the best the world can offer. It is only a plane ride away, which us Europeans have to do for every race meet. If this happened, I think we would see more Americans in F1, the top of motorsport, which they should be in tbh
Well Spanks, you did come across as saying that Davews is a bit of a noob and doesn't know how to drive. Give him a race in LFS then you will understand where I, and alot of others, are coming from.
I know in LFS if my car loses it, what to do to fix it, not successfully always mind you, but I still can feel what's going on. In iracing, it feels like you either drive the car the way the game says you have to, or the physics go mental on you and sends you into a crazy spin that seems to have no relation to real life physics....
I could be totally wrong here btw, but after driving approximately 300,000 miles + at least in a real car, surely I can't be that wrong?
TBH Dave I agree with you. The physics in iracing don't feel right at all to me, and also to alot of my teammates. I know that you are a great racer, so if you are saying it feels wrong, then compared to alot of the commentators, I would trust your own judgement.
I have said it many times, but I can learn how to drive iracing, but it means I have to learn to play a game, rather than doing what comes naturally, which is what a sim should be about...
I think iracing is a HUGE leap forward in many ways, the tracks are just awesome, the FFB is incredible, god I wish LFS had the same bumps and detail, but sadly the physics in iracing just feel wrong to me... Shite, if real cars acted the way they do in iracing, 50% of the worlds population would be dead now
Us welshies never have a problem travelling to where ever the kart meet is, so as I said, if it's cheap enough and he can get a deal then sounds good from here. But let's get this years meet over first eh
And you say £55 for karting, is that all day? Ours is £40 for a days karting from 11am to 5pm. If you can get a deal like that we will be up there i'm sure
Anyone thought for 1 second that if you stop posting bug reports (usually bogus btw) then maybe we might get an update, as no update can happen until the fixes are done
So please, please, please, stop posting unless you REALLY are sure that your problem is to do with the very latest patch (Z15 atm), as everything you post takes the release date for the next update further away, as Scawen will fix the bugs (or investigate all the BullShit ones) before he releases the updates
Just to let everyone know, we have changed the name of the server to [SR] Tintop Racing. Sorry for the confusion
The reason I have done this is because we plan on changing the cars but keeping it on the same server and the same points and championship. I am thinking a different car every month atm, as I know we can get bored of the same car after a while.
Yeah that corner is a bit like laguna seca, except smaller, but I have seen lots of crashes there. In fact when we went to pay the deposit a few weeks ago me & Mark saw a kid crash in that exact spot into the marshall tower, totalling his kart
