You did something wrong then. As i've written above, if you shift at redline, you'll never fall out of the power range (6k - 9k rpm). In this range, the s2000 is certainly not slow (maybe not super quick either, but there's plenty of power for spirited driving). The only moment when it should feel slow is in first gear, until you reach 6k rpm.
You have to take it to redline tho, or it'll not work. Gear changes are great in this car by the way... you must not enjoy a good transmission if you don't like it, since the S2000 transmission is one of the best i've ever experienced in any sports car.
You can easily turbo charge an S2000 engine. They seem to be handling the added power quite well too. 350 rwhp with a "mild" setup, up to 700+hp is possible.
It ruins the car tho (in my opinion). In a straight line, the S2000 doesn't feel very fast... on a racetrack however (or a twisty mountain road), it feels very good (engine/powerband wise), the gearing on this car is made so you will always stay above 6k rpm (vtec kicks in yo!) when you shift at redline. The moments when i miss torque is in normal city driving, etc.
It is true that it's hard to get any performance gains out of this engine when keeping it NA. This is because the engine is pretty much optimized from the factory already... i mean, 120hp per liter, that sounds like a well tuned engine to me already (JDM models have 247hp by the way, that's even more hp/liter). Then again, no NA engine will show you serious power gains unless you spend a shitload of money.
Don't worry, i'm sure it'll still sound better than my stuff.
After all, i'm recording from my MPC (16bit) which usually plays stuff that i sampled from vinyl, using a 10 year old sony hi-fi unit as an amp. All i ever do on a PC with my music is to record it (seperate tracks if i can be arsed to track out a beat), and maybe do some EQ, compression and what not. I think the apogee duet is way overkill for what i do, then again, i have good ears when it comes to sound quality... i guess i'll be happy with it (judging by the couple of reviews i've read about it).
I went the Mac route simply because my PC died and i was too lazy to read up on the newest hardware and stuff... build a new pc, install everything, etc. I'm getting old.
I'm having troubles fighting the legion. I'm doing the mission where i have to get the platinum chip from the fort, but they keep killing me (my character is level 14 and oriented towards intelligence, luck, charisma, etc... not exactly the best soldier). I've killed a few legion guys before, but at the fort they are just too big in numbers for me...
Do you know me? No, you don't. So don't assume things that you don't know.
There's a thread about cars like this on the s2ki forum (honda S2000 forum). People discuss this "fad" of slammed/stance/stretched tires bullcrap and have asked the people who build their cars like this to come to a track, and show the others how those cars can still "perform" (because that's what those people claim all the time, that those cars don't have ruined handling). Now guess what, none of those cars have showed up at the track, no videos have ever been posted... because they would fail miserably. All they can do is "hardpark" at the stance meetings they attend. That's what those cars are good for.
Nobody said you can't improve stock performance. But slamming a car so it almost hits the ground on every little pothole and almost rips the tires off when cornering hard, isn't doing that.
Both are cars with too big wheels and too little suspension travel. It's the same (stupid) trend, really.
It is. Rice = Mods on your car that don't help performance. Huge offset with stretched tires doesn't improve performance, it ruins it... therefor, it's the newest fad/rice of the car scene.
