Really loving the game!

I was scared about driving physics first and indeed a little disappointed with the first few cars i drove, but not all cars are the same. Some old cars from GTAIV still handle very similar and there's no problem at all loosing traction and sliding them around corners.
Also the car deformation isn't that bad now. I've had various situations where the cars were deformed quite a bit like in good old GTAIV days, maybe not as much, but close.

Graphics wise, the game looks simply stunning sometimes...

Can't really complain about anything, other than having to work right now instead of sitting on the couch playing the game...

I'm not the biggest fan of "playing movies" as i like to describe this kind of games. Nevertheless, had to buy this one...

It certainly is impressive regarding graphics, immersion, atmosphere, etc.

Things i don't like so much is that it feels very linear, like somebody is always holding your hand...

One thing that constantly is annoying me is the KI of my party members and the enemies. Let's say i am sneaking around in a building filled with enemy soldiers... i'm taking cover behind some boxes, an enemy soldier comes walking into the room... now my party member Tess decides to run over to my position and take cover next to me... so far so good... but then on her way over to my position, she "accidently" runs right in front of the enemy soldier, getting so close to him that she's basically giving him a free kiss and blowjob... and what is the reaction of the enemy soldier? Nothing... It's like you're the only guy that is there, party members are pretty much invisible unless you engage combat with the enemy. This happens all the time by the way... really kills the whole stealth approach for me.

Sometimes it's also a bit of a joke how enemies "forget where you are hiding". I was in a situation yesterday where i took cover behind two boxes standing in the open... imagine two lonely boxes in a parking lot... nothing else around in a radius of 10 meters. An enemy soldier walks towards me and notices me... i shoot, he's shooting... he's 3 meters away from me... and now comes the good part: After two shots exchanged, i duck down again behind the two boxes to take cover. I'm ducking down behind the boxes right in front of the eyes of the enemy standing 3 meters away from me... the only two boxes in a 10 meter radius... the enemy's reaction to this? He's starting to look a bit confused and i hear him saying "Damn, where did he go??", he proceeds to start searching for me (dude, i'm behind the two boxes, didn't you see me taking cover after i tried to shoot you in the face one second ago??)... he then walks past the two boxes playing "i'm dumb and blind, i forgot you are behind the two boxes, i'm a blind cow"... he finally walks next to me and i jump up from behind the two boxes and stealth kill him... really???!

Otherwise it's a good game... visually impressive, ok gameplay, but doesn't deserve a 10/10 rating IMO.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Bear in mind that everyone's seen that you've still buying old Akai samplers.

Hahahaha!
(i've actually sold all of them except for the MPC60 and S950)

But seriously, mobile phones are the things you get for free like every two years when you renew your phone contract? The last time i've paid for a phone was like 12 years ago...

Since the fronts are still good, i'm going to get R888 again (and i've gotten so used to them, had them on the S2000 already).

The toyos will be another world, prepare yourself!

I've got my new car (speedster turbo) since the 6th of april this year and put 6'000km on it already (and it's not my daily driver), finished the rear tyres (r888) and had about three speeding tickets (nothing bad, 56 instead of 50, etc.)... you're doing it wrong...

I can tell you those things pull like crazy once the power kicks in. You have to hold on to the handlebars pretty firm or you'll fall off... I'd like to see you ride a bike like that for the first time and not almost shit your pants.

I had an EXC 125 once... pulling out of a junction giving it enough throttle in 1st gear, you often felt how it stopped to turn because the front wheel lifted into the air...

Try wearing some proper gear next time, or at least a helmet.

Have fun with the bike, i'm a little jealous...

Quote from BlueFlame :The kind of people that take Porsches to track days can't ACTUALLY drive properly.

Have you ever been to a trackday at all?

I've been to seven trackdays with my MX5, S2000 and now the speedster. I've seen people trash their Porsches, Ferraris, Mercedes, Aston Martins, you name it... they drive at the limit, they ruin their tires... one guy even crashed his Aston Martin into the wall because he was overdoing it...

Yesterday two of the Porsches were red flagged and told to take it more easy because they constantly lost their rear and one of them spun out two times.

Occasionally you get a guy that is 70 years old in his 911 Turbo that drives like a granny because he's scared to ruin the car. That's about 1 out of 10 Porsche drivers.

Again... why don't you just stop embarrassing yourself?

Quote from BlueFlame :You are driving an Opel, probably about a 3rd of the price of some of these cars (Porsches mostly). So it's no suprise they are just doing laps whilst you are really going for it.

Once again you have no idea what you are talking about.

Most of the cars were driving at the limit (loosing traction, braking as late and hard as possible, upsetting the balance of the car, sliding into and through corners, basically trying to go as fast as possible with occasional errors, etc.).

The guy with the Carrera 4S came to me in the pits telling me he once owned a Lotus Exige, and that he knows my car is on an equal level and he has no chance in his Porsche.

Why don't you just shut your trap and stop showing you have no real life experience with sports cars and trackdays at all?

Best regards...

Quote from Tinytacohead :Kinda surprised they don't all come with one for some reason.

Me too... it's rwd with a reasonable ammount of power... an LSD should be standard IMO. Kind of annoying to accelerate out of a slow corner and have your inner wheel spinning all the time.

The car still managed to be very quick tho. There were three Porsches (Cayman S, Carrera 4S and some random Carrera), Mitsubishi Evo with Semis, Audi A1 Quattro with 320HP and Semis (was really fast), Lotus Elise MKI with Semis, etc... They all were no match for the speedster...
There was one Caterham R300 Superlight with Semi Slicks, about 170HP and less than 600kg weight... i didn't stand a chance against that one...

Was also quite surprised how well the car handles at the limit. Catching a slide after loosing the rear felt even more intuitive and natural than with the S2000. Also the tires and especially the brakes held up just fine... felt like i could drive countless laps without hurting the car (but i took it easy nevertheless and went to the pits to cool down every 5-10 laps).

In other words: It's a great car / toy for the track!

Went to a trackday in france yesterday with the speedster. The car needs an LSD... otherwise was great fun... sadly no pics or videos taken as i was too busy overtaking Porsches...

You crashed your fiat, and your VW two times, that makes three times if i'm not mistaken. That makes three crashes in three years, it's quite a lot.

Try to drive more defensive and look ahead on the road, expect objects/obstacles around corners you can't see and adjust your speed accordingly so you can stop in time, etc. It's really basic stuff...

Someday you're going to harm yourself, or much worse, someone else, and not just the car...

Note To Self: If you see a rabbit in the road, just run it over next time.

You might want to change your driving style maybe and visit some safety trainings / do some lessons / do a few trackdays.

It seems you have a real problem not crashing your car once in a while.

I think it has to do with heat soak, yep.

People have made tests with the hood open on a dyno (just searched a little)... the car seems to perform better with the lid off (when the hood is open), but once you close the hood, intake temperatures are worse when the lid is off, hence the loss in power.

I guess this means it's time for doyal to put an airscoop on the hood of his car...

EDIT: Bonnet... sorry...

It's pretty much a fact. I'm not sure if somebody ever put the car on a dyno to have evidence, but if you search a little on the biggest S2000 forum (s2ki.com), you'll find that the majority of people agree it hurts the performance of the car to take the lid off. And they really try everything to squeeze out the last few HP of this car... if it would help the performance, people wouldn't advise to keep the lid on.

From personal experience, the car pulls better in lower RPMs with the lid on. Honda designed the airbox pretty well.

There's also people who've put two stock S2000's against each other in a drag race and the car with the lid off was always falling behind (they changed lids and always the car without fell behind).

that hum is funny at idle

I know it sounds nice with the lid off, but i'd keep it on... you'll lose a few HP at lower RPMs without it. The car looks really mint, congrats!
