I know the light setup was better before I streched the scene up but everytime I add a mesh light, the car paint looks like plastic

Quote from danowat :I saw a video that clearly showed F1 2010 having "flashback", which makes sense considering the engine thats being used

I am not holding out for anything more than an arcadey game, having re-visited GRID recently, maybe I'll be pleasently suprised, but I doubt it.

Quote from bunder9999 :probably had to do with the update frequency and lag. it happens on the drag strip if you go fast enough too.

yeah but at around 300 km/h or so and not at 50....

Quote from jensbrix :Does someone wanna make a new version of this whole blender easy kit? The original is 2½ years old now, and would be cool to have the scirocco from Viewer, and the new XF/XR/FOX and FO8 designs and rims (small changes, but still)
I don't have any idea how to do it, but I'd hope someone out there would do a new version of this kit

started to import the updated cars etc. but can´t promise to finish it. (Definitely will take a while)
Quote from tinky winky :sorry for bumping up an old thread, but do i need to isntall Python?

As long as you just wanna render, i don´t think you need to install it (but I recommend you to install the new Blender 2.53 Beta version, it´s stable and has python build in. + its´s faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaster then 2.49 (and IMO it´s easier to use, can´t go back to 2.49 xD). you can get it here)

Quote from SF-Turdtron :what programs will I need to attempt my own render?

Well, the free way would be for example Blender. But because I never got really satisfied with Blenders render engine, I do all the modeling in Blender and all the rendering in LuxRender.

just google it

Quote from JPeace :snip

in Ger vs. Spain, Germany played like crap. And that´s why they lost. Srsly the played a lot worse then vs Serbia. I still wonder why Spain won only 1:0. ( I even whished Spain to do the goal a lot earlier, maybe Germany would have woke oup a lot earlier and not the last 15 min).

But like that, it was definitely a deserved win for Spain.

Quote from r4ptor :Get used to it - rendertimes wont be impressive with physical accurate renderers (looks a lot like you're using one).

Your windows are off (looks at the wheel). You need to either add thickness to the windows, or simple minimize refraction.

yeah i realized this during the render, but I didn´t want to stop the render.

but thanks for the thickness tip, gonna try it

Edit: yeah it looks fixed thx a lot

Quote from col :Ok, since you are talking about 'facts'
How do you *know* how many hours the devs do or don't work?
How do you *know* how many hours it takes to update tracks?
How do you *know* what the devs have been working on that is not yet public?
Where do your get you 'facts' from?
hmmm...
three posibilities as I see it:
1. You are a close friend of one or more of the devs who tells you these facts knowing that you will spill them on the forum.
2. you are a telepath
3. you have a magic ass from which you regularly pull 'facts' which you then use as the basis of your arguments.

cheers

knew luxrender a long time but wanted to do something with blender, now after guistix pic i decided to give it a try (wow i struggled hardly to work with blender 2.49, since i work with 2.5 since dec 09 or so xD)

anyways its kinda hard to work with blender and luxrender but luxrender gives quite nice results after some tests

Ladies room

If you are a woman, this is your door. Of course you can also go to the men´s room. The men want that of course too.
