Quote from Jakg :
No idea what the resistance of the speaker is - tried measuring it with a multimeter, but set to "2000k" it just slowly climbs to 2000, and as it gets there it then just goes to 1 and stays there. Going to geuss that it's over 2000k, tho!

You probably measured through the capacitor, the DC resistance of a normal speaker should be quite low (somewhere between 2-8 ohm usually).
I would guess it's an 8 ohm speaker.
One thing you have to keep in mind though is that you're actually looking for the AC resistance, better known as impedance. That is difficult to measure and varies with the frequency of the supplied signal. If you want to change the crossover frequency, you might want to buy several capacitors and see which one sounds best.

At least it's motorized, if you plan a route over the North Pacific Ocean it suggests using a kayak

Except that the Camaro managed to lock all wheels, that should never happen unless he pulled the handbrake. I guess it's modified for stunt driving though.
Also, why doesn't the guy standing in the middle of the road (@ 12 sec) even attempt to warn the police vehicle? Too busy eating donuts? :munching_

Not exactly infinite energy, but one plant in New Zealand is outputting over 100MW continuously since +/- 1960, with no significant running costs.

All cheap potentiometers do that after a while. You can clean them with WD40, but eventually it'll come back.

Logitech uses an optical encoder on the DFP and G25 wheel, but for some reason not on the pedals. Optical encoders don't have noise issues, unless the encoder wheel gets clogged with dust (in that case you seriously need to clean your room lol).

Quote from KiRmelius :or better, LFS with tweak, something like 2000hp without downforce. And some UF1s, to make it harder.

I was going to say that :P

load of power + ky ring = massive drifts :P

60 Mbit/s, UPC, via cable.
Too bad my router box (Pentium 200 with Intel NICs running Monowall) doesn't go faster than 44 Mbit/s Still looking for something to replace it.

Quote from G!NhO :And what if the elevator only has no "close door" button but only an "open door" button?

Wat if the building you're in only has 2 storeys?

Yes, we have an elevator in a 2 storey building. No, it's not an American company.

Quote from Nathan_French_14 :Starter Button? PAH!

My Car can start up from the Remote, 25 meters away! BEAT THAT SUCKAS.

I like to start it up with the window open, then do a running somersault through the drivers window, then wheelspin away. I'm cool.

My little brother's moped can do that too. Cheap Ebay alarm ftw. It also gives a vocal alarm in Chinese, very funny.

BUT

I do have a car ignition BUTTON

I love the screwdriver marks, gives it the ghetto gangsta look.

But seriously... Why? Why the hell would you want to install a starter button?

Quote from majod :20 posts just about how useless this thread is ...why?

There's not much else to talk about anyway. LFS development speed crawled down to evolutionary time scale.

I'm using that amp with a pair of Alesis Monitor one MKII speakers. Goes loud enough for my taste and it sounds quite good. It does need a good power supply though, some power supplies will cause a humming noise.

Quote from sil3ntwar :GoPro HD. Just dont get the wide lens as it looks a bit silly (although might look ok mounted behind the front seats?)

The HD is only available with a wide angle lens (and depending on the resolution it records 127 degrees or 170 degrees). The GoPro SD (the old one) was available in two versions, but I wouldn't bother buying a non-HD camera these days.
Also the GoPro HD sells for around GBP 260, roughly twice his budget

The Zi8 has an external microphone input, so you can mount a microphone inside the engine bay or near the exhaust for example. In fact it records in stereo, so you can attach two mono microphones and mix the audio afterwards.
Personally I don't like the GoPro HD. The image quality is excellent, but I don't like the fixed fisheye lens and it doesn't have a display. On top of that it's twice as expensive as a Zi8.
I'm using a Kodak Playsport, which is basically a Zi8 in a waterproof casing (and without the external microphone port unfortunately). I mostly record in 720p60.
I also have one of these magnetic lenses: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.39814 , which is actually pretty good and gives me the ability to record with both a normal FOV and a wide angle FOV. Look at this video to see how it looks (skip to 1:16): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKxUu1d5EB8

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :Not really, any used car you buy could of had a bump just as bad but wasn't written off, atleast if you buy damaged its cheaper, you know what the damage is and know its been repaired properly, if you buy a lightly damaged car theres no difference in buying a used car in terms of what can go wrong.

Exhibit A:

Yep, they wrote it off for the damage on the wing.

Take a closer look, the wheel is also scratched and is has an unusual amount of negative camber. I smell a broken suspension... Probably destroyed the wheel bearing too.
That's the problem with those damaged cars, you can hardly tell if it's bad or not. Something that looks like minor damage can be a huge money pit.

On the single engine aircraft you need to trim the rudder a bit, to counter engine torque.

1) Buy a cheap helicopter gyro (not a headlock type)
2) Stick it on car
3) attach it to the steering channel
4) ???
5) profit!
