You don't need a physics accelerator if you just want driving physics. A modern CPU is capable enough to do that.
If you do want millions of physics objects, cars that fall apart to the last screw and 4096x4096 pixel textures for something the size of a traffic cone, than yes, a physics accelerator might come in handy to offload the cpu. But i hope LFS will focus on decent driving physics.
By the way, those accelerators only support rigid body physics. The most difficult part of LFS's physics are the tires, which aren't rigid bodies.
Something really different: Suzuki Cappuccino. Think of an MX5, but 15% smaller, with a turbocharged 650cc engine. Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side ( :hbomb: ) and their age is showing up.
I don't think there's a big difference between old and new. Those small engines aren't really advanced. Just make sure it starts easily, and check the the obvious things like a damaged prop / tail, worn out zinc anodes and a damaged water pump impeller. These engines overheat quite fast, so if the impeller is broken i would be really careful.
The one in the advert is designed to be used with a console, it doesn't have a control stick. Also be aware that these larger engines don't have an internal fuel tank, you'll need a bulky external tank.
Hehe, i have one of those too With a Mercury 4hp twostroke though.
I wouldn't stick a larger engine on it. Remember that any boat that goes over 20km/h requires insurance, registration and a permit. 4 / 5 hp are "grey area", there are conditions where they are capable of >20km/h but they won't fine you unless you really behave like an idiot. 10hp easily does more than 20km/h and you will get fined if you don't have the required paperwork.
Always store LiPo's in a fireproof bag, like the bags from liposack.com.
Unlike most batteries, hobby grade lipo's don't have a protective shell, so it's very easy to accidently crush or damage the internals.
XS4ALL, Planet and HetNet are all KPN daughter companies.
There are basically just 2 ADSL networks, KPN and BBNED. All providers use either one or the other.
My ISP (Chello NL) used to suck, but since a few years things massively improved.
Ok, they aren't the cheapest around, but they do deliver 60 mbit via cable, and it's perfectly reliable these days. Only dedictated fiber companies deliver more for less, but it obviously requires a fiber connection to your home (and the connection is heavily subsidized by local governments, so the real price is actually hidden in tax money).
you need pure hydrogen, the element H. You don't find that anywhere on earth as a natural resource, you need to split the hydrogen element from H2O, water. That requires quite a lot of energy, four times more than the hydrogen will ever supply to your car.
You need a battery because a fuel cell reacts very slow to "user input". Ie. step on the accelerator and it will respond afer 30 seconds or so. It also needs to be carefully heated before use. So you'll need some sort of energy storate (a battery, maybe supercaps in the future) if you want a drivable car.
It takes about 4 KWh to produce 1KWh worth of hydrogen. Do you see the problem?
On top of that, storing hydrogen is a major pain in the ass. It leaks through every material, it needs to be stored at a rediculously high pressure (around 10000 psi) and an hydrogen vehicle needs a battery anyway.
Refueling is faster than charging, but still takes quite long. It still takes about 30 minutes to fill up the equivalent amount of energy of a normal sized gas tank. And you don't want a refuelling station near a city, if something goes wrong, there will be no city left.
How efficient is a power plant?
Exactly. More efficient than a mass production petrol engine will ever be. Not just the efficiency from fuel->energy, but the resulting heat is used for district heating and the resulting CO2 is used in greenhouses.
Where does a power plant emits it's exhaust fumes?
Exactly. Not at your door. Huge smog reduction.
How much easier it is to filter emissions from a single huge exhaust instead of thousands of small ones?
Exactly. Much easier. No more catalytic converter that needs to be warmed up before it sort of works.
But still, how much electric cars are for sale today? Th!nk, Gay-wizz and Tesla makes a massive list of 3 cars to choose from. 2 death traps and a sportscar...
Does it actually detect the network adapters?
I've had some issues before with the install wizard, just don't bother and configure them by hand (if it detects the network adapters of course).
