Quote from matijapkc :If it can't do this, it isn't cool...

Guess what I've done after seeing that vid for the first time? . That thing has stiff suspension, so it's difficult to do that, it's just jumping around, which isn't that bad also lol.

Quote from Tinytacohead :Yea, anybody can google anything, and it's not the same. Seeing as it's not your car though..... :chairs:

Well you see, none of my cars are street-legal at the moment, and it's pretty awesome to roll around in a bus, so I borrow it when he's not using it. I just didn't want to put the pictures, as it's not my car.

Ouch. Doesn't looks like it's impossible to fix. Good luck!

It's my fathers car. I drive it more than him, but still.

Can't you just google it?

The vehicle I currently drive the most is 1992 MB100d with 2.4 N/A diesel and 75horsepower. When it hits 110km/h it makes sound of a WW1 airplane. Wrooom.

just help one underage dude buy alcohol, and you'll have little friends for the rest of your life. Doesn't matter how ugly you are.

Quote from -NightFly- :I just aimed at what it actually means, no need to be offended to be called a third world country. Term is expired anyway, have no idea why people still use it (over here it is very rarely used, thought that only americans use it , it's usally referred as developing countries here).

Americans use it on everything, that's not America.

Carry on.

Quote from Tinytacohead :...and thus we have the mindset of the urban drifter. :dunce: (no comment on the other videos )

As for all this talk of bikes & pipes, no disrespect meant, but my home population's 1400 with no lights and tonnes of plant life. The closest "city" is also 45 miles away, (having a population of roughly 17,000), and I've got a love for the local 1.5 lane back roads. (so I've spent plenty of time far and away from concrete & buildings) I've also had friends who've owned various types of bikes. I can't think of any instance where they couldn't be heard before seen, from any direction and no matter the exhaust. You said the man on the bicycle was old, which I'd assume played more into the unfortunate situation than anything.

The age of the cyclist was definately relevant. But I've personally been in numerous sitations, when I noticed the biker only when he has already passed me. I always double check my mirrors for bikers before maneouvring. I just wanted to say, that driver must alway be careful and you can't rely only on sound.

I'll just post another picture of my crappy car to end this rant right now.

Quote from Klutch :Uhh...I can always hear bikes coming up behind me before i even see them if they have an exhaust.

Maybe you're just deaf?

My cousin has killed a man while riding a bike with loud pipe. The old guy was riding a bicycle and crossing a road, didn't hear the approaching bike, and jumped in front of the motorbike. Loud pipe didn't save his life. In rural area there's nothing to reflect the sound, so it's only possible to hear a bike from behind.

I mean bikes are great, I ride a bike too, but while riding you must rely on your head and senses, and not on your exhaust pipe. Of course it's safer with a loud pipe, but it doesn't guarantee 100% safety.

Quote from Klutch :For bikes, yes...

Not quite. A bike approaching at high speed is impossible to hear in an open area. It's only possible to hear a a bike if there are houses or something else to reflect the sound, or the bikes rear is facing you (this means the bike has already overtook you). Of course slight chance of surviving is better than no chance.

Got myself a 1987 pug 205 1.1 . Still thinking whether to keep it or to get rid of it. Body is in great condition, and it runs quite nice. Engine is working a bit funny, but I guess it's because of standing still for two years so new spark plugs and cleaning the carb should do the trick. It's not a 1.9 GTI, but it's still pretty fun to drive, massively underpowered, but fun in the corners.

I don't know a better place to ask, so I'll ask here. Found a philips ap191 amp in a pile of crap. Has anyone else had any experience with those? Are those old philips audio components any good? It seems to be not in working condition, I've connected power to it, and illumination didn't turn on. If it appears to be broken, is it worth the fuss to fix it, or should I throw it away?

Perhaps because I'm upgrading to a 1.8 GTi maybe?

Aren't engine mounts placed different on 1.3 and 1.6/1.8 engines? You'll need to have some cutting/welding done.
