But yes, it still a bit blocky.
WMV9 is not a good idea though for a video master, except if it's WVC1.
WMV9 can be either WMV3 or WMVA or WVC1 but the first two ones are buggy and also may cause problems when transcoding to another format.
Keep in mind that Youtube will always recode your video even though the one you send them is within the specs they are using.

Now Facebook does it better about encoding quality:


They use High profile, 2500 Kbps bitrate, CABAC, a good SubME, PsyRDO and 8x8DCT.

Now in 1280*720 (720p).
It is done simply by adding "&fmt=22" (without quotes) to the end of the video URL.

Not all videos are yet available in this format though but here are some sample ones to compare especially in full screen mode:

According to MediaInfo they are using some quite strange encoding settings though:

Main profile instead of High.
About 2 Mbps bitrate which is quite low for such a resolution.
No CABAC, low SubME, no RDO, no Trellis.
And it looks like they are using a quite old version of x264.

But hey, that's better than the FLV1 crap we were used to have for years

That's more about what I find worrying.
Two other examples just come up to my mind:
Last week in Japan in the very last lap of the race, he pushed like mad locking wheels and burning tyres just to overtake Alonso before the finish line. What for ?
And also the famous 'there is a red light at the pit exit and also a car stopped on the track' but he didn't notice any of them. How come this could happen ?

Anyone can do and will do mistakes sooner or later. But crazy things ? Come on, this is not a video game...

LFSW progress windows are nuts.
For instance it actually reports 6 drivers on ConeDodgers 1 while there are 27 people connected.
