I always change the gearing. These formula cars don't need all that torque in every gear. I use the gear calc frequently. I ususally end up with a final gear in the high 2's or mid 3's, then adjust the other shift points to get the fastest times through the gears and the fastest top speed. It does make the upshifting very fast, but you get to speed quickly with little tire spin, maybe a chirp or two. Many times when I find myself starting near the back of the pack, I pass half the grid on the way to T1.
Well, I hate to see people leave a community like this one, because of a few bad eggs.
HeerBommel and I just introduced ourselves to each other Yesterday. Yes we got off on the wrong footing, but in the process I've shared more and heard more "Passion" about LFS than with some of my team mates.
I did'n't even make it thru turn one. Thanks to Georg Sommer, and maybe Julppu. It was not a good time at all. I had to leave to keep from embarassing myself, verbally. I'm steamed. A certain waste of two weeks of practice.
OK now I'm confused. I can see resetting after a spin that leaves me nose first in the wall, something within my control.
But are you saying that as a victim of another drivers offences, I can reset every time, regardless of results or damage, as long as its safe?
Practicing on our server the other night, CWMAX visited and sent me a cool setup. I can hammer those manhole covers at full throttle with just a little bump, while running 0:57's. I know its a little slow but until then I had to try to avoid them.
Freeker! you're acting as old as Vette is! Don't you think everyone reads all the messages in this thread, and the Established Teams thread on this forum, and the team listings on LFS World, and visits our website and forum site??... nah me either.
