Quote from MadCatX :I agree with you neglouseight. Particulary in Formula and GTR class cars it's a bit ridiculous that it is all done step-by-step. But on the other hand, it doesn't matter if there are four tyres changed in 8 seconds or one tyre changed in 2 seconds, but done four times. Time spent in pits is what counts, and that seemes to be quite real right now.
Maybe once when there is a pit crew modelled this should be changed, but now just +0.5

I have to disagree. Time spent refueling and all 4 tire changes takes too long in all the Formula cars. When was the last time you did an 8 second pit in the BF1 changing tires and refueling?

Quote from mrodgers :All this talk of people spamming "Blue Flag, move NOOB!", generally calling people noobs, and general noobish behavior is truely surprising me. I see nearly everthing is being commented from over there where the main base of LFS is.

I've been racing nearly nightly for 2 years now with LFS. I am now pretty much exclusively on the STCC servers. I have to say, I rarely see folks doing all this chat yelling or noobish behavior. I can't count how many times I've run up on a guy a lap down or a midrace joiner who pulled over and let me by in the last few weeks. I have seen on occasion the "Blue Flag" spam, but it is rare. I also often see on the map someone just joined and is coming down pitroad when I'm coming by and I see them easing down the exit waiting for traffic to pass.

Yes, I do see this stuff, the blue flag spam, the blue flag ignorers, the midrace joiners entering the track in traffic, but it is very very rare. Another thing I don't see often is racers getting irate over being crashed. This is probably the one thing that happens more than the others, but it is still not all that bad. I will see someone crash another racer, the sorry pop up in chat, and a "np" or "no problem" follow. Lately, I have even seen the majority of crashes followed up with the guy who crashed the other waiting for the one he crashed to resituate himself and take the position back.

I do follow these topics that pop up on the forum and do comment sometimes, but it isn't because I see it as often as I'm led to believe judging from the comments of the UK/Europe based community.

Anyone else over here in the US/Canada base agree or disagree with this? I'm really curious.

We don't generally see this type of behavior any more on our servers or the other servers here in the states.
It used to be much more frequent but I think the majority of the currently active LFS users in the US have been around awhile and have gotten thru that what seems to be a typical growth stage within the community.

Quote from niall09 :Im talking about how to edit lfs world profile details.

Only the member that created the listing on LFSW has the access to edit it. If that was not you, you need to contact the 3D member that listed the team with LFSW.

Edit:LOL, guess I'm a bit late...

I want to notify those that have raced with and/or know pjwon63, that he suffered a stroke yesterday and is in the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
Which is the oldest team?

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that Land Of The Free Racing is the oldest team in all of LFS.

How can that be, you have only been a team for 15 months?

Our team members combined ages are a whopping 651.
We have 16 members and our average age is 40 years 8 months.

Is any other team older?

Edit: Maybe this is the wrong place for this, if so please move it.

Great tool Bob! I often use sets that I have to mod because of my driving style. This utility has taught me much about driving with a stiffer rear end than I ever thought I could.

Quote from Indiana Jim :I appreciate all that has been said here and the good LOTF reputation. However, it is very hard to find a team that will accept new members in this day and age. Last time I checked LOTF, R4R, Carbon, CoRe, and others, none were accepting new members.

So, that would leave someone like me to start a team, right? What other choices are there? If you want to race and be with folks of your liking, that would be the only recourse.

Joining a league as a loner is fine, in fact I belong to LOTA. But I have to wait for the right event to race as a loner. With a team you can organize your own practice races and more.

For a while here, I fought against myself restraining myself from offering to be a sub-driver on teams to cover for anyone that may miss a race. That could open doors for a permanent position in a team once they get to know you. But to this day I have split feelings of anyone taking me seriously because I am so new at this.

And so it goes. Good luck to you guys, may the moon shine your way and the wind be on your back.

I understand completely. I/we all were in that situation at one time as well.
This team was started under similar circumstances, as many are and will be.
There does seem to have been an over abundance of the "looking for a team" threads, while in the last few months so many teams have come and gone or have revolving doors.
No offense intended, I just thought it would be a bit refreshing to update the community. That is really all we use this thread for. We don't talk any spam here, try not to flame folks, just to keep the thread active. Moo!

Register on our team forum and see more of what we're up to.

Much chatter about new teams, team hunting etc...

So I thought I'd pull this thread back out and add a bit of an update.

In the 14 months of this teams life we have had;
27 different members.
15 of which are still members.
Of which 9 will have celebrated one year with the team by the end of this month.
4 more celebrate one year membership by the end of May.

We have been entered in the OLFSL, OWRL and SCORE's GT Challenge.
We currently have members in League Of The Americas, Sim FIA, STCC and IGTC.
We helped develope and help manage League Of The Americas

We are Husbands, Sons, Fathers and Grandfathers first.
We share an interest in each others lives as well as team related interests. We love racing and we are patriotic.

We are the Land Of The Free Racing

Any ideas how to get around the Memory Access Violation?

Nevermind, I realized the zip file didnt create the trk folder. I had to copy it from a December installation of RW.

Nice work Becky, should be a usefull tool.

Quote from banshee56 :What gives? Aren't you already part of LOTF, TypeRCivic?

This guy did join us and that was the last we heard of him. He was a
provisional member for way too long, no activity with the team so he was just released the other day.

"What gives?" is what I've been asking for months...

Quote from th84 :I was in a league (LOTA Summer Series) not too long ago that had "fixed setup" races. The way they did it was, they had two "race admins" that each collected set's from half of the field. No one was allowed to pit or leave until they had sent their setup. They would look over the set's one at a time. I thought it worked out pretty well, until I got busted for not using the fixed set. (not on purpose ftr)

:ices_rofl WTF?

OBTW: LOTF Tommy you noob!
